Marx: Is the double damage glitch only possible with two players? If not, I think a one-player run would be better, since you basically keep both players in the same spot during the fights.

Also, the fights got repetitive real fast. Practically every opponent was beaten the same way. The monotonous player movements didn't help much either.
I agree. I guess it's the levels that make the Mega Man games interesting, since removing them would give you movies just like this one.

This run was fast but not entertaining, and the submission text was too disparaging. I did find it funny that E.T. seemingly found Waldo at the end; that was Waldo, right? No vote.

So, after being surprised by the extremely polarized media coverage of the election, I decided to ask people here what they think.
I recently heard that U.S. politics have been relatively mild within recent decades compared to how they were throughout the history of the country, so maybe we're just getting back to "business as usual." It's been too long since I took a U.S. history course, however, so I'm not sure how accurate that statement is.

1. It seems likely. 2. Not enough info about possible conspiracy theories et c. to determine who is/is not a pawn, if that's what you meant with the question. 3. I'm not sure that there was ever a time in which the wealthy weren't largely in control, so I wouldn't say it has degenerated. 4. Definitely.

I was under the impression that you're too young to vote.

That and those big companies (like the Koch Brothers) who are putting out those memos basically saying "go ahead and vote who you want, but if you want your job, vote Republican". Seriously, voter intimidation is disgusting.
Based on the info on Snopes, I think those were reasonable warnings. The companies are as free to close down as the voters are to vote for whomever they want to be president. I would prefer warnings about possibly losing my job rather than just being fired some day. They wouldn't change my voting habits, though. I'm voting for Romney, btw.

Why did you seemingly randomly whip the air throughout the run? Luck manipulation?

If someone could check this 10-bit encode for 1935M to make sure that it meets site standards and I didn't mess up my scripts since last encoding, I'll replace the bad one and fix the rest of mine: http://www.mediafire.com/?7ialkk1r344qa6q Thanks!

FCEUX and SNES9x have those capabilities. I haven't used BizHawk or lsnes, which I believe are the preferred emulators for NES and SNES, but they might also let you do what you want.

It appears that the FM2 file had around 11 Soft Reset + Hard Reset + FDS Disk Insert commands:
|7|........|........||
I'm not sure how they got there, but replacing the 7 with 0 corrects the errors. You can get a fixed version here.

Xkeeper was working on implementing netplay for emulators via Lua. I don't know what the latest status is, since he was banned from this site, but he has some sample videos on YouTube.

Tested and works in Opera 10.53, FF 3.6.2, and IE 9. Loads very slowly, however--about 2 seconds at a time.

I made a playaround of Nintendo World Cup several years ago (part 1, part 2). The goals were to score goals in unique ways and keep my teammates from getting hurt at all. As you can tell from the video quality, that was long before I was taught the current encoding methods. The original input files have been lost, unfortunately.

The concept of a minimal presses run is interesting, but I think SMB is a poor choice to illustrate it. The run looks too sloppy. No vote. Maybe a puzzle game or something grid-based would look better.

Note that [7] NES Youkai Douchuuki by Morimoto in 14:31.10 was actually encoded using audio from Nintendulator. Per some PMs with Quietust, it was probably version 0.950 or 0.960, and you have to insert/delete one frame somewhere, possibly around the spot in the screenshot. You should be able to do that with nesmock.

I think this is a bad turn for the site. Thus, I henceforth resign as publisher, encoder, etc. I'll delete my YT account and all of my archive.org uploads in the next few days. It's been fun, guys.

Great run! In fact, it's so good that I think it should obsolete an entirely different Zelda TAS: #3474: SwordlessLink's N64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "All Dungeons, Temples & Ganon Trials" in 2:04:45.22 While I have no idea what you did, at least I can read the ending.

I agree that it should be changed. What about TASHawk or TASRaptor (hawks are a type of raptor)?

If the only difference in the J version is text speed, I'd prefer U. At least I can make some sense out of the story, even if it's horribly out of order.

Several people appear to be familiar with this game. Is there any spot in the run that you guys think would make a good screenshot?
