Sorry for bumping this old submission, but I am noticing an issue with music. The stage 1 theme appears to be un-able to play more than one note at a time, I am not sure if this is an emulation issue or if some options setting is the cause. Does anyone know why this is?

I'm trying to get avi dumps for the comparison encode, but every FCEU version I try results in desyncs after the snake level. can someone provide me with a proper avi dump from the nesrocks run? I'd appreciate it. EDIT: nevermind, I managed to get one.

As far as my opinions on the movie, I found it very boring to watch as fights are super repetitive, and the lack of music doesn’t help either. No vote for entertainment.

Would anyone with debugging experience be able to look into the RNG for the grey flame? I have no experience with debugging and I’m not sure how good the one for Saturn is (assuming there even is one), and would like to know how to manipulate grey flames more easily. It would also be nice to know of RNG drops like the axe drop I get in the any% run.

Thank you LZ for going out of your way to improve the entertainment, I knew you could make something more fun to watch during the down time. I especially liked the idea of leap frog in the snake level, that was pretty clever (and technically a good pun). I definitely want to recommend this for stars to replace the 2 player warps TAS now, yes vote. Edit: I forgot to ask, would you like a level by level comparison?

The problem with getting grey flame is it would possibly screw up the rng manipulation for the axe drop later, and it’s really important to get that for the OoB in the anti-chapel. I also still have no idea how to manipulate the grey flame consistently, I have never gotten it in my testing.

No, This is because of how GBHawk write the flag for GBC, adelikat mentioned it here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=493640#493640. This was also an issue with movies like this: http://tasvideos.org/6530S.html EDIT: changed the comment to be more accurate.

So I tested the movie tile in 2.4.1 to try again, and this time I got some better behavior at the start. So far it seems that RNG is being more cooperative, the first screen halt syncs perfectly, but as soon as the explosions stop on the 2nd screen halt, it desyncs. However I think this is due to an invisible lag frame and not from RNG differences. This should be easier to deal with for both TASers, so I’ll provide the movie file once I’m home and confirm sync on 2.4.2 (I’ll also say which frame the desync appears to happen.)
