What's this? A version of this movie that syncs in BizHawk 2.4? http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/62368582410616263
The main reason I wanted to resync this was due to a bug in 1.x versions of bizhawk, it causes playback in avi dumps to not be throttled correctly, you might have noticed that with the Konami logo sounding too fast.
So side effect of this is the movie is about 5 seconds longer due to longer loading time, I also edited the re-record count back to what it is in the submission.

so my execution is pretty sloppy but this is kinda what I think the method should be for this, since it's hard to predict which way the boss goes, maybe try using the same method from the Cheshire Cat to keep it in place. every time you finish your kicking animation you can start throwing your projectiles near it to do extra damage.
I have no idea how to get the boss to do short hops or not, if that is rng dependent then that should be somthing to possibly manipulate.
damage would most definitly be less here since kicks are not as powerful (at least it seems to be, idk if there was a better kicking powerup or somthing)

so unfortunately I was unsucessful with getting things to sync, rng manipulation is very limiting at the very beginning of the game and it doesnt seem feezable to do.
I can at least try the other option Truncaded mentioned by doing a test movie of that boss, I suck at this game so I'll just use a level code to get to that stage, no need for a savestate (though I cant guarantee the method will work exactly the same in gens, because RNG is awful)

I dont know if this is supposed to be added later at some point but currently booting from firmware does not give you the DS Splash screen, it only boots up, then goes to the DS menu.

I have finished the game, but it's far from being optimized. I made some changes to the first stage and kinda blasted through the rest of the game. I will spend time thinking of different routes and things that can kill enemies faster.

in system settings, you can set the DS to boot to a game automatically if you have one loaded in. it's known as Auto mode, and most DSes are set to manual mode by default.
To change it, load up the DS menu (if you cant get into it, take out a game cartrige if one is inserted), go to options, and start-up. that should give you two settings for how to start up your DS. the first video I posted is Manual Mode, the 2nd video is Auto Mode.

Holy moly, this is the oldest thread to not be bumped in the genesis forums.
anyway, I WAS going to improve the current publication, however I found out the current pub doesnt use hard mode, so that means I'll have to make a movie from scratch.
Luckily NESRocks had some memory addresses for all the bosses, and I found one that has the amount of enemies on screen, that address will be really important to optimize screen srolling.

I would say not to do one seriously for now, but you can at least start getting used to the tools for practice. that way you can get used to it, AND find bugs or find things to suggest. that's currently what I'm doing.

One issue that I want to be fixed is trying to change touchscreen inputs while not overwriting other inputs such as the D-Pad, in TAStudio. This would make games that use both touch screen and standard controls much easier to deal with.
I also want a way to have a visual cue of touch screen inputs, simmilar to the cross-hair used in DeSmuME. That feature will be nessisary and will eliminate alot of headaches trying to figure out if you made a mistake with a touch screen input for example.

I can however make the ledge grab happen faster, unfortunately though that screws up RNG manipulation for the lava spewing at 4:46. That window to avoid it is already extremely tight as it is.
I have tested many things that could manipulate that lava pattern and none of them gave me the results I wanted, but fortunately, juarez’s TAS had perfect manipulation, to the point where changing one small thing would have ruined it.

I think we should take into account the possibility that some capture cards may have some sort of filter on them that makes things either darker or brighter.
