I made this report here: https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk/issues/1580 but I am going to post here too in hopes that I can get a good response. I was comparing my TAS for Splatterhouse on PCE to an actual console and I noticed somthing about the first level in particular. On console it seems like there are more Percussion sound effects playing. On Bizhawk, however, it just sounds like it's playing Hi-Hats. here's what it sounds like on Console: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO29L4841A4 and here's what it sounds like on bizhawk(my TAS) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsNv-qpXKf4 if you compare the music from the first level, you can definitely tell that BizHawk is either missing sound effects or it's not playing the correct sounds. I also believe the audio is accurate on PCEjin.

This game takes me back, I haven’t played this game in years and I always wondered what the name of it was even back then. I was so young that i had no idea the character was wario, I had thought it was just a mario game where Mario got really fat for no reason. Thank you for doing this game which let me relive my childhood, and yes vote.

This is awesome news. I do have to ask though, would the route I took for the first world be ok enough to continue with? Also should I be going for a warpless run or a warps run? I only have information about warpless because of the GDQ run having commentary on the route, but I’m completely blind in how warps work in this game.

Pretty much all the issues I would find in this movie as far as the actual run, was already highlighted by Maru’s comment (er, Maru’s comment which was copy and pasted from the discord by Spikestuff). My biggest issue is some slowdowns that occur when the player approaches each bowser fight. There should be no reason to slow down to shoot fireballs at bowser unless there isn’t much room to shoot them, but there are still plenty of time to kill bowser because the game gives you plenty of space to shoot from. For this I have to vote no.

This last case though makes me slightly doubtful that TASVideos actually cares that much about graphical corruptions in their videos, considering (i) for how long this video has existed now (apparently it was out in 2010) with no alternative (or updated) youtube video existing that would be linked from the Movie Stars page, and (ii) how popular this video and how well-known (in comparison to general other TASes) the TAS is, in light of or contrast to the fact that it is still in this shape (and is at least in this way listed among other TASes from the Movie Stars page), even though there has been a mention of this potential issue in the videos' comments:
I do not it’s because TASVideos doesn’t care. I for one didn’t know that gradius had this issue, and it seems to have a simmilar issue to what was reported here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=477364#477364 The fact that there is a thread where you can report issues with certain encodes is proof enough that TASVideos does care, but issues can only be fixed if they’re actually reported.

My computer isn't good enough to run any emulator either, so I'd like to have help because of that too.
What do you mean by this? Will the emulator not run at all for you or does it just not run at full speed? If it’s the latter, that shouldn’t matter. Like lapogne36 said, a potato computer can still be used to tas games. No matter how fast the game runs on your computer, it will still be emulated at the same speed.

Even if this movie is meant to be a playaround, if it’s anything like the previous submission then it doesn’t exactly offer any kind of entertaining movement. Since I cant play back the movie on emulator and there isn’t an encode to watch I’m abstaining from voting, but I really doubt a playaround for this game would be acceptable.

I should mention that you dont “convert” the file to .zip, you send it to a .zip folder. It’s really simple to do, all you have to do is right click on the file, then scroll down to “send to”, then select “compressed zip folder” or somthing like that.

Iirc Samsara didn’t use that trick in her movie, but here’s the WR run doing the reset trick: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/422306573 You’ll notice once they start the game, they immediately reset the console so they can press “continue”, this skips the intro cutscenes.

How does this compare to the best ending tas? Iirc that movie did certain sections present in the any% faster than the old movie, the best ending would make for a better comparison imo. Another thing to note is the RTA runners use a restart sequence to skip a portion of the game’s intro, not sure if you did that in your movie but it’s probably worth looking into.
