No, it's not... I don't think the definition of "perfect" was ever agreed upon; it was too arbitrary. I think, if anything, a 100% run would be done in its place, if ever anything like that were to happen.

Would it still be immoral even to eat the plants that are designed to be eaten? Some fruiting trees species owe their livelihood to to the fact that the seeds are indigestible but the fruits are damn tasty (and animal dung makes good fertilizer).

The same here too, but In the 1950's my grandfather would put his breakfast in a container and take it to work, that was kinda what i meant. I did not really mean stuff like Dunkin Doughnuts, or anyother breakfast on the go sorta thing.
Gawd, in the northeast, you're never more than a couple miles from a Dunks. It's nuts. You probably know, funnyhair.

It took me a second to recognize the blocks left after Big Boo. Very nice. I like the touch of ending input earlier. If you're in the mind set of "this is how a game would be played by someone with superhuman skills," ending input early equates to that person throwing the controller down on the floor and walking out of the room like a badass before the game is even completed. Voting yes! Some surprising stuff here.

Raw food contains natural brushes that clean our teeth, like if we eat an apple, the skin sometimes gets stuck between teeth and acts like a dental floss.
I'm not really behind this idea. As someone with crowded teeth, stuff like corn skin and apple skin STAYS between my teeth. Years and years ago, before I started flossing regularly and right when my wisdom teeth started coming in, my teeth got really crowded and I got a piece of corn skin stuck between my back molars. This led to swollen gums and when I finally got the piece out it had been a while and it was turning black (sorry, I realize that's a bit disgusting). A couple years later I had three cavities between three different pairs of molars. It's NOT FUN to get those filled (they have to use little wooden wedges to move other teeth out of the way temporarily, it hurts, even while numb, and the pressure is insane). EDIT: Oh also, about the bed thing: I have no source or anything to back it up, but I've heard a few times that an unmade bed is less likely to harbor bedbugs and mites and stuff. Also, pillows are disgusting (but necessary, for me anyway)

The only problem I have brushing before breakfast are the times I have an orange or orange juice. Terrible, terrible combination. Also, remember to floss! Equally, if not more important.

I've been able to grasp a lot of basic programming concepts from experimenting with lua scripting for my runs for the site (and for other research I've done). If you can learn how to do something like write any enemy's HP above their sprite, you probably know how to effectively use variables, memory reading, if statements, for loops, and screen output, which is a good start. I'm taking a intro to Java class at the moment, and about 95% of what's been taught so far is stuff I already know. The syntax is different but very similar, and lua really helped me conceptually with the basics.

I know this might be slightly deviating from the scope of the thread, but I've made a brute-force script that estimates the chances of getting a max length fish from a particular fishing hole. It's set to Puffer right now. Click it, yo. I figure there's enough niche interest in the fishing mini game to make note of this. For example, in about 30,000 trials, a Manillo of max length only occurred 0.45% of the time. That's only a little better than the drop rate for the Goo King Sword! Also, it's necessary to leave the script running overnight (on turbo) to get a sample size of 30,000... is there a good way to speed up the emulator in such a way that won't compromise the script?

Problem is that in this game the luck manipulation is one a the hardest I've ever seen, so every single battle can take up to 5/6 hours of testing to make it optimized. So in order to preserve my sanity I've made a lua script that automatically skip dialog parts so I don't have to worry about it. If I had to find the text boxes that can stay a little bit longer and manually skip them on the last frame possible, I think I'd be bored pretty quickly. But if that could be hexeditable after the run is complete I might take a look at it but can't promise.
That's totally forgivable then! Do whatever you have to do. Also, now that I think about it, don't the text boxes advance the RNG anyway? Or is exiting out of them faster no different from letting them linger a bit in terms of RNG?

Wow, I feel stupid. I should have known that (like I said, I've taken a couple stats classes). I think what threw me off is the article that I started to read a while ago. I guess I misinterpreted the point of it, and thought that what I wanted to know was a bit more complicated.

There's been a statistics-related question that's been bugging me for a while; I've taken a few stats classes but I'm not sure I have the right knowledge to determine the following: Say the probability of an event happening is x . If I perform y trials, what is the probability of that event not occurring at all? e.g. The probability of event A is .99, if I perform 100 trials, what are the chances of that event not occurring once? I recall beginning to read something about this a while ago, and seeing some sort of natural log component to the answer, but I can't find any information on it currently (it's a tough question to pose on google). Incidentally, my curiosity stems from bad luck in getting rare drops in games. I would like to be able to say, "Gee, I've killed this enemy 128 times, and still haven't gotten my 1 / 64 drop, the chances of that are xxxxxx!" and totally nerd out.

I know it's a bit late for this suggestion, but you can actually keep some of the dialog a little more intact, specifically the bits where a character moves after speaking. In these cases, delaying by exiting the text box later will not cause you to lose time, and faster readers might catch some of the text. This might seem a bit silly at first, since you can't do this with all of the text, but it might make some of the longer dialog segments that much more bearable.

I tried some times and in about 70 frames was OK (very few times it desynchs if I opend the movie file in 70 frames, though). Or, are you just re-opening the ROM file? I should have said that we should open the movie file right after opening SNES9x1.51 and open the ROM file. I have to rewrite the submission text X(
Yes! This worked for the 60,000 desynch. However, it did desynch right at the end in the last battle. I watched the rest on YouTube. Yes vote!

Note: To play this movie correctly, you must play it right after the game starts; otherwise it may cause a desynchronization around 60000th frame.
How soon are we talking? I loaded the movie as fast as I could after opening the game and I still got this desynch.

Cool. Is it worth it to manipulate the stat wheel at the end of boss fights? Continuously raising Ashley's STR maybe? Also, does rotating the camera cost time? And is it worth it to get any really rare weapon or armor drops? Sorry for all the questions, but I've wanted to see a TAS of VS for a while.

So in a TAS, would chaining bosses to death be the way to go? It's slow but probably faster than leveling.

All of the points of having an all-trophies TAS are well-taken and I agree that it would be completely insane and unwatchable, but out of curiosity, I'm wondering if such a TAS is possible: The Olimar trophy (or one of the Pikmin ones at least, I forget) is only obtained by having a Pikmin save on a memory card. Is this possible with Dolphin? Also, has anyone ever TASed the credits? I looked on YouTube but didn't see anything.

It reminds me of when the whole thing about The Lion King and how sex was "written" in the dust / flower petals / feathers / whatever was all the buzz. One of my neighbors was an old guy that came over to specifically warn my mother that the word sex appeared in the movie, and to not show it to me or my sister. My mother and I both laughed at him. Also, regarding the ferret gif: It looks way more like it's nursing (sucking on a boob for nutrition) than anything else. Which I guess is still sexual by definition, but not in an erotic way.

I clicked on ONE of those, watched less than 30 seconds of it, and now YouTube has EIGHT different episodes in my recommended videos box and no other content. Also: wait, the show isn't ironically good, it's legitimately good?
