Looks like whoever did Snake Pit four years later learned from the programming mistakes made in this game. Either that, or their approach was simply more grounded in sanity than whatever's going on here... (shrug)

If we go past the goal, the game will go on indefinitely and you can rack up a very high amount of coins.
This sounds like a worthwhile (if not better) alternate goal choice for this game, assuming "very high" =/= unlimited...

For those who are confused as I was first seeing this, no this doesn't have anything to do with the luxury car brand. Cadillac is one of many aliases for the gambling card game Thirty-one. This game also got a sequel on the Game Boy that was localized as "Square Deal: The Game of Two Dimensional Poker". I very much would like to see a run of the aforementioned sequel, as well as determine if there's strategy insights that could be applied to runs of PuyoPuyo series games (where pairs of beans could be handled in a similar way to the cards in this game).

chatterbox, have you asked on a Steins;Gate focused forum or Discord server for some insights about the messages you're getting with the Konami code or how the hack creator might've intended the "true ending" to be reached? I'm sure that they would have some insight about these things you don't have right now...

Plays like a MegaMan game, and now you can zip in it like one too! Yes vote for me!

I'm convinced that the slowdown from the meteor(?) that goes by in regular intervals was intentionally done as part of the challenge playing this game. :P

This is interesting given that it's clearly based on the Venture arcade game, which never got an "official" port to the C64 back in the day. However, someone has done a homebrew port in recent years - perhaps that version would be worth TASing at some point in the future?

I certainly like the idea, but I'm wondering how much time having extra players would really save, especially in the later levels where you can take care of things really quickly with powerups using just one player. Not to mention health management and stuff would be a lot more complicated; a three player run might do better as a playaround instead of aiming purely for speed. Aiming for maximum possible score instead of speed might be another category worth attempting. I believe you can also do the original arcade game now in MAMEHawk, but it would be a really long endeavor - the game goes through a 128 city loop five times before resetting back to Day 1.

Based on RTA evidence, the clip on the last key level appears to only be possible in Ruffle. This was also used in the previous submission.
Wouldn't this technically count as an "emulation error" and thus the game isn't being emulated well?

Call me a party pooper if you want, but I think this submission should be console-verified to make absolutely sure that being able to access Level 4 in this case isn't due to an emulation error...

For those not familiar with this game, this is based on a very popular but short lived TV series of the same name which basically gave roller derby the professional wrestling treatment. You play as a member of one of the "face" (to use the professional wrestling term) teams - T-Birds, Rockers or Hot Flash - to rescue the league owner who's been abducted by the "heel" teams - Bad Attitude, Violators and Maniacs. The basic gameplay is "a beat-em-up/platforming hybrid on roller skates" and it's an idea that's long overdue to reappear on modern indie games (or a remaster that leans heavily on the slice of late 80s cheesy goodness the TV series represented). Yes vote for me!

Anyone else reminded of Superman 64 and all the rings you had to fly through in the "kryptonite fog"? Yeah, this is the same level of "BS game design" - annoying and challenging in all the wrong ways! Between this and the RNG nightmare of Lincoln Green, it seems like their quality control standards started slipping near the end of the line...

This type-in loses points both for not following any standard chessboard notation and bad grammar in the title (there's more than one queen quarrelling, so it should be "Queens' Quarrel"). The run itself is just a "Meh" to me, however.

I could make a Looney Tunes reference here, but I won't. :P I'm trying to figure out how you refill your ammo - is it by shooting all the playing cards above the player piano in a certain order?

The completion message flashed at the end was tied into a contest the devs were running when Action 52 was released - sending in a picture of the end screen would enter the person into a drawing for a prize worth $104,000! Unfortunately, the first release of Action 52 had Ooze invariably crash on Level 2 (either when you die or finish it), and even though the second release allowed you to finish the game the congratulations screen still doesn't come up when playing on the actual console! It's hard to tell whether this was from sheer incompetence or simple lack of funds available to award the promised prize, but it's an important footnote nonetheless.

Honestly, even if they originally intended to have it localized with the SatAM version of Robotnik, SEGA would probably be better off these days just doing a straight English translation and letting the voice actors (Roger Craig Smith for Sonic and Mike Pollock for Robotnik/Eggman) do most of the heavy lifting for driving the game along. ... Oh wait, where was I going with this? Oh yeah, Yes vote for an underappreciated game in the Sonic franchise! :3

Maybe out of reach with today's technology, but I still think that it would be possible sometime in the near future (late 2020s)...
