what's the fastest form of movement?is there anyway you can do that combovideo stuff with 2 characters where one shoots the fire ball, they both run faster than the fireball in order to take the hit later and perform some kind of combo?

Glad you did this. What would a Ryu vs Ken 2p fight look like?
It would open up more drama moments than a CPU ever will. I'm almost intrigued if it would ever be possible to make the game glitch out bad for how difficult it takes Hadokens. How poorly it handles them is shown when it just starts to freeze Ryu at one point with the Lee Fight. Going to get into experimenting that more to see if I can abuse it so I can do more hadoukens with Ryu and Ken in a short span.
does it collide with other projectiles?im thinking maybe we can some SFxTK stuff goin on heheheh i have to stop quoting unnecessarily

runs out of money faster, increases population slower though.Considering the objective is the population,it should be better to hurry the ends than the means.

Grassini, how many members do you think have played this game before? Probably very few. This run and many others would sit in the Workbench forever if such a ridiculously arbitrary requirement was expected of us.
Ridiculous arbitrary requirement? The number of people that are expected to vote(which is arbitrary) in order to this get published (or not) is too high, specially for an unknown game. Ideally,it would be nice if the same amount of players and non players voted,so we could actually have a balanced view, which would protect from the game's fanboys and haters. That would be EXTREMELY hard to keep track of,as SDA shows with their run verifying(they keep track of players) ,which just takes a lot of time despite the hard work. Mostly, this is all about the entertainment rule. The voting system is just an extension. It's all about pleasing the TAM/S fans, while Gruefood Delight keeps getting the goodies instead of letting the frontpage have those beautiful runs. tam/s="tool assisted mario/shitglitchfest" EDIT:maybe the judges should play the game too, considering how long it will stay in workbench hehehe
Correct if I'm wrong but isn't this being TOO ELITIST?... I mean, this is a community and as such everyones vote despict their interests, abilities (or the games they've played) are supposed to have the same value. Isn't it an irony that you seem to hate "TAM/S fans" (as you call them which seems far fetched too), but you're actually doing exactly the same by telling everyone else that we know nothing just because we didn't played that game and as such our opinion doesn't count?. Lastly, "The number of people that are expected to vote(which is arbitrary) in order to this get published (or not) is too high, specially for an unknown game." you do know votes are just a little part of a judgement right?, I mean, look at the gruesome food, there are a lot of movies with a 97% yes votes but still they got rejected and some published ones have 5 or 6 total votes and still they got published so I'm not sure why you're so pissed about the voting system if at last the judge has the final word and he looks at way more things rather than votes alone.
actually i love mario and glitchfests,i just want to see the rest of the good stuff on the front page(all those crazy luck manipulation runs like clue or double dare just deserve it) but now i thank you for changing the focus of my speech,it's the judges i have to convince.

Point me to where he warped. Warping does not automatically mean it's tas exclusive. He pressed 90-95% right during the whole movie. There is nothing impressive in that. As a viewer, I did not feel a bit the author faced troublesome challenges to use superhuman skills to overcome them. The game also looks awful and the run was unfortunately not entertaining at all. I am doing my best to be objective as possible but I truly do not understand how 5 people have given this run yes vote.
so you didn't play this game at all... pretty pretty nice.Yeah,it's a run right fest, but with absolute precision to back it up,most of the jumps and bomb attacks are absurd without having to go back. The warps have been explained by goofydylan, and i don't find the music repetitive somehow.

people try to push the game's limits to its fullest and you wankers are saying it's not "fun" enough? Why is this site becoming so geared toward subjective fantasies of "constant shit on screen and any mario game" fans? It's this kind of thought that stops great discoveries from being made! We would still be playing OoT in 5 hours because 'baclkwlaking is not cool". go to hell, dammit. BTw,has the staff considered having a list of all of the TASs of a game?

Nope, video uploads are not input files. If the uploader didn't put a link to the input file in the description, then there's absolutely no hope to get it so don't even bother trying. If for some reason you are really lucky, you can find a blog or some other contact outlet that the uploader uses, contact him there, and hope he complies with your request. Nicovideo is not a contact outlet.
Alas, this is what I feared. Thank you for your replies. This presents sort of an awkward situation. I have a completely independent run of a game and the run happens to be a few hundred frames off the record. The thing is, I actually do some levels significantly faster than the recordholder (on the order of thousands of frames)--it's just that he gradually makes up the time with frame-precise optimizations in nearly every other level (ten frames here, ten frames there). While I'm confident I can get my movie to beat the existing record overall by making a few obvious tweaks, I know for sure that I will have a slight positive split on the majority of the levels when compared to his. The obvious option in most cases would be to closely inspect what the recordholder did in the input file to make up the time. The issue is that I can't actually access this file (as discussed in this thread), and trying to reverse-engineer every frame of a flash-embedded movie seems a ridiculous proposition. So, the existing record is 37:22. I know I can get my movie below 37:20 or so just by making obvious improvements. To be sure, this breaks the existing record. What's frustrating is I know that the recordholder has about 20 seconds' worth of indiscernible optimizations sprinkled throughout his run, meaning that a theoretical movie which combines his best levels with my best levels would push the final time all the way under 37:00. This raises a question: the criteria for a speedrun's acceptance to this website is that it "breaks all existing records." It is relatively trivial for me to break the overall record for this run, but I know that many of my individual levels are actually run slower. Would the judges still accept my run knowing that I was slightly suboptimal in many levels, provided I achieve a better time overall? If not, then I'm stuck, because there's no way for me to dissect the existing record. Surely I could spend ages trying to replicate every last pixel-perfect stunt the leader did by watching and re-watching a streaming video ad nauseam, but I frankly wouldn't have the patience to do this and my months of effort on this run would be wasted. Any thoughts?
i suppose they wouldn't accept it based on my limited time here(yes, they really want the best possible TAS in most cases),but don't take my word for sure.I hope someone else replies to this. There's the possiblity that if the record is not here on Tasvideos.org,it might not be considered a standard for comparison, since you will have submit something new. You should still show your improvement somewhere or ask for a japanese speaker's help.

hi. Im fuyu, from Japan. I'm working on Estpolis 1 TAS (It's Lufia and the Fortress of Doom's Japanese version). I completed a whole run and the time is 2:01:29. I uploaded this video on youtube.com. here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3P296U9oBg It seems already way faster than zidanax's run does. It's because mainly some glitches which are available in Japanese version. they are "Carry over Maxim's items", "Hero's ATP UP 1" and "Hero's ATP UP 2". If there are some people interrested in, I would explain. now, I'm looking for new route, strategy, glitches and so on. then, I found this forum. I want to see zidanax's testrun(which is WIP3, length 2h 28m 2s) to shape up Estpolis TAS but I don't have a US version ROM. so, Is there anyone who doesn's mind to RECORD zidanax's test run and encode and UPLOAD the Video, so I can watch. and of course when my Video is done, I will submit the movie. I heard zidanax is no longer here. I feel sorry about that.
i am one of those people who are interested in knowing estpolis japanese glitches,we have a game resources page here on TASVIDEOS so feel free to put it there or here the glitch explanations.

That's a quite good question, especially since that other charity is going to take their cut as well. The more links there are in the chain, the less money goes to actually helping the needy.
I'm right in front of you asking for money. That's the difference.

The idea of becoming a judge here makes me drool but since i've done squats, have a certain talent for trolling and don't plan on watching dolphin and hourglass stuff(it's not i'm against it i just happen to lack the adequate setup to emulate it or download the games),i won't even bother. I'll just pray the poor unpopular games won't fall to the evil hands of the voting masses of TASvideos and will be saved by the new judges from above.

This seems like a good TAS, but I don't really like the fact that "any%" is one of the goals. Does that mean that the TASer just chooses to complete any random percentage of the game, like 41% or 79%? Seems like a pretty random and fuzzy goal, I would like to have a more normal goal, like completing the game as fast as possible, otherwise it will be hard to judge and compare this to other runs.
