If what you're looking for is the .m64 file it is a few posts back....or perhaps you just have an emulator problem.

I added the video about five minutes ago, give it time. EDIT -- The link should be working now.

Thanks, that worked nicely. Go to youtube to see the first 3 remotes of the TAS. The picture quality is poor and there is no sound, but everyone will just have to live with that. You can see what is going on at least.

Perhaps it would make a difference if you used a PAL version of the game. I tested once with an NTSC (desyncs from the start) and then with a PAL version (no desyncs). PAL games run at 50Hz rather than 60Hz (although there is sometimes an option). So perhaps it won't be so demanding of the Mupen. The problem being that i'm sure a few glitches (definitely the 'glitch out of clock town as Deku Link' glitch) were taken out of the PAL version. However, you may get lucky and the glitches that you use may be left in.

That's odd, it works perfectly for me.

I tried. Unfortunately my AVI making talents are poor so when i tried to upload it it came up with 'could not convert file'. If anyone can post up here a step-by-step guide to making AVIs with the Mupen 64 it'd be appreciated. Mainly list best settings for the Mupen and the x264 and where to find these settings etc...and please don't just post a link to the FAQ either because that didn't help.

This is the redone WIP. I tried to make an AVI and since i've never done one before i managed to screw it up somehow and so it won't play on my media player.....anyways here's the new .m64 file. This has the first two remotes from out of toon; my route for the first one is different, and faster, and my route for the second remains the same. It's just more polished.

You're right. Somehow it is very easy to get people fascinated in TASes, however, they have little desire to get involved in the site.

It's a game for the NES that i am also working on. Work is slow due to the fact that it is insanely difficult to optimise. If you want to find out more go here but it has nothing to do with my Gex run. As far as the Gex redo is going i redid the first remote and was stunned that i managed to shave 700 frames. It is looking much better now. A new WIP after remote number two.

I have a quote from the DK64 forum that i found interesting.

Me and my wife had talked about TAS'ing this game
Does anyone else share their hobby with partners in this way? 1) Do you make TASes together? 2) Do they know that you TAS? 3) Do they know what a TAS is (have they seen any)? 4) Do they have absolutely no idea? For me it is a 3) ; i showed her part of Guano's OoT run. She didn't seem too intersted though........ She likes to take her time with games.......

Looking back over the jumping is quite badly done in places, although it doesn't make a considerable diference in time (although in the long run it all adds up) it means that the movie lacks the polish that it certainly can have. I smell a redo. I'll do new WIPs in smaller parts and make them available as AVIs so that more people can see them.

Hmmm, anyone heard of Red Bull before? Not sure if you can find it outside South East Asia, but it makes hell of a good drink when mixed in equal proportions with Vodka. YARRR
They sell that in Britain, but mixing it with Vodka is a very dangerous thing to do (ie. Deprassant & stimulant mixed). I took me years to aquire a taste for beer and a i threw it all away in one night of Heineken induced illness. If you ever want to aquire a taste for beer drink a few shots of vodka, whiskey and maybe throw an absinth on top of all that (choice of colour is all yours). However, i'd love to have a taste for beer, it's just so much cheaper.

How can any movie be fairly categorized as boring (supposing that it is fully-optimised etc.)? For example, the FF6 run; to those that have never played it would find it difficult to sit through all 4 hours of this run, however, someone who has spent their life playing this game and loving this game such a run would be immensly interesting, just to see the route and tactics of the author. Most genuinely boring movies come from genuinely boring games and such games will never have a place on this site. Therefore, we are already protected from genuinely boring movies.

IQ tests are faulty. If someone is a genius with shapes, the very best in the world, but is useless with numbers and words then they will end up with an IQ that does not reflect their true intelligence. For the record i got 133 with a booming stereo on in the background so i am not trying to make excuses :)

http://ez-files.net/download.php?file=d3d3e7d9 Here's the new WIP. It's the first two remotes from Smellraiser. I'm skipping the third to save time. Please give feedback (especially critical, however i do enjoy a pleasant word) it is very important to me.

Is this still optimal? Is this a ROM problem or is it because you're screwing around with the hardware?

finalf_ss.png 2005-05-23 This screenshot looks really dodgy. Surely this could never have been up on the site, or is it just a bad copy of the one beside it?

You got a mention FODA, and a thank-you. Quite an honour to be considered part of such a great run.
