Redundancy is good, but Youtube is up more often than TASVideos is
For us perhaps. But then every other month the Great Firewall of China, or Iran blocks YouTube to prevent the spreading of anti-government propaganda.

I fail to see the logic in this. For the time being, Google Videos, and every other streaming site for that matter that we're currently using is still available, and there's no reason to not offer our viewers a perfectly viable option.
When we uploaded the YouTube counterparts to the Google Videos, Grunt said that we should remove the Google Video link, stating that they'd be invalid soon enough. I don't know why an extension of the deadline would change that.
At the moment, there is no deadline at all.

Sure, let's mirror the other two on YouTube. But if we have an alternative mirror, we should have it listed, no reason to remove it.

Now that they're no longer shutting down Google Videos, please restore links to all Google Videos. Edit: On second thought, look at Grunt's list on the previous page.

I'm wondering if some people are voting no because they are comparing it to the TAS of the first brain age game, rather than judging this on its own right. After all, this is not competing with, nor trying to obsolete the first one. I'd say the relevant question is: Assume the TAS of the first brain age did not exist at all. Would you still vote no on this one?
I would.

that's where it seems you haven't read the submission text, he purposefully made 'wavy lines' to speed up the TAS because people complained about the previous run being slow
That still doesn't justify this being 8 minutes of boredom.

We've already seen this hilarity, we get it, the game is confused, great.
So, yes, you've seen too many TASes by now and are no longer entertained by what makes them entertaining to people who haven't seen TASes. Notice the 56 likes and 0 dislikes on YouTube? Maybe you should consider what other people not TAS-overloaded would think after seeing this movie.
In terms of judging, you're right, that has to be weighed. But I'm saying this as my own personal opinion, not as a judge. I'll let someone else decide the fate of this run. My opinion is that this run was not entertaining. It was the same thing over and over and over again, and nothing redeemed it. The only picture I was entertained by was the last one, and that entertainment lasted less than 3 seconds. If you enjoy seeing the same thing over and over for 8 minutes and it entertains you great. I don't think this would've entertained me a decade ago either before I've seen hundreds of TASs. In any event, it surely doesn't entertain me now.

What does that have to do with the submission text? We've already seen this hilarity, we get it, the game is confused, great. Would you now like to watch a 6 hour run of me putting a smiley face on the screen and getting it confused? Surely you will get bored after a while. The beauty of the previous runs weren't just that the game was confused, but that the player could put something creative into his breaking of the game. Something that we could recognize and appreciate. He also managed to pack it full of references to Super Smash Bros which is a popular franchise. Hey, I get what's going on in this run, but how does it entertain? The game is broken, great, I knew that before watching it, I know that 10 second into watching. How do you justify 8 minutes of this? If you're going to play a game like this, then do something with the 8 minutes. This is akin to classic platforming games with an auto-scrolling level where the author doesn't do anything. Super Mario Bros 3 wouldn't be the classic it is if not for the 99 lives collected. Hence I suggest trying to draw a story or something we can follow and be entertained by, instead of just wavy lines or whatever that went on here. If this game is too restricting to draw something entertaining, then it's not TAS worthy.

You assume wrong. I don't know what you think is in the submission text that redeems it, this run is not entertaining. If the game is too constraining, then the game is not TAS worthy.

I have a suggestion for future Brain Age runs, don't just randomly choose pictures to draw, but tell a story. Perhaps recreate the intro to Zero Wing or something else famous.

Unlike the first game, I didn't like this one so much. Aside from a few pictures, most were rather boring. Much of the run was also filled with boring segments, such as playing the piano or watching figures running. I don't find entertainment in this run, I'm strongly voting no.

I honestly can't even begin to imagine what these problems might be, especially since no contact information is divulged. (And even then it sounds so extremely far-fetched as to be ridiculous. What? Is a neighbor going to stalk and rape him because he saw his photo on an online forum?)
I'm surprised you don't have more of an imagination here. Say for example he's in witness protection, and the photo of him has some kind of landmark in the background. Those looking for him might recognize him and know where he is.

I'm 100% serious. Also, over IRC I received information that his parents indeed don't want him to be giving our such personal information. This should be the end of the matter.

You have to admit that the above paragraph is pure unadultered paranoia.
Regardless of that, no matter how paranoid you are, you aren't paranoid enough.

If you are so concerned about his age, well, his age was already mentioned in this thread. That alone would constitute a serious breach of private information, according to that logic. What difference is a photo going to make? (In fact, divulging someone's age could be considered even worse than him posting his own photo which, without current age information, could just as well be a childhood photo taken 15 years ago for all we know.)
Read what I said again, his age implies he can't properly know if he should or shouldn't be posting said photo. You can use your imagination to determine what problems could result of a photo. Just be happy we allow him to speak at all.

I don't think that person is a minor anymore, furthermore, his parents already gave consent to the mass distribution of that image. More to the point though, there is no need for people to share their photos here. Your presence here will not be in any way negatively affected if you can't share your photo. In terms of what might happen to people who share their photo, use your imagination, I'm sure there's plenty of good works of fiction out there that present remote possibilities. Someone with plenty of life experience could weigh the possibilities and decide for him/herself if such a risk is worth taking or not. In the case of Patryk1023, he is quite young and possibly naive. Um, aren't the videos there on Google Videos generated from our videos that are available via torrent or archive? Why not just take the one from there and put it on YouTube?

Damn right! I haven't realized it at first, but TASvideos is indeed racist. If you look at the goombas in the top-left corner, you'll notice that their skin is brown! And Mario is going to stomp on them! Also note that, while SDA backgrounds are mostly black, TASVideos's are white or very light blue, indicating white supremacy.
I couldn't agree with you more. Further, we should round up everyone that doesn't have a strong German rooted or German sounding name, take them out back, and shoot them.

Can each of you who is expert in your language write how to say "<language> forum" in your language? I'm going to use it for a link on the site. Thanks.

I guess I figured PS2 port + dos = old. Hence why I called it an assumption.
Having just a single PS/2 port on a machine (outside of laptops, and given there are PS/2 ports at all) is a rather recent phenomenon. I think it started ~2-3 ago. Interestingly enough though, I found that my motherboard has a header for a serial port...

AFAIK the technical specification of the PS/2 port doesn't require support for hot-swapping, and I assume that the oldest and cheapest motherboards had no safety measures against it, so you could potentially damage the circuit, and even in the best cases the system would not detect the swapping. Better motherboards probably have safety measures to avoid this, even if the standard doesn't require it.
And every motherboard I worked with which came out in the past decade or so seems to be the latter kind...

I'm wondering how accurate and up to date that Wikipedia article is. Back in 2002, I mistakenly mixed up the keyboard and mouse when plugging them in, and was surprised to see it working anyway, when it did not on older machines. Since then, I've swapped them on at least a dozen machines, as well as hot swapped mice without any issues at all. I don't know what to believe... I've used motherboards from Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, and ABit that all behaved like I just described. I also see various companies putting out splitters: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Keyboard-Splitter-Adapter-KYC1MF/dp/B000067SLZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302706529&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/QVS-CC321Y-Keyboard-Mouse-Splitter/dp/B00007E85M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1302706529&sr=8-3 http://www.amazon.com/6In-PS2-Keyboard-Mouse-Y-Splitter/dp/B004LCGBPQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1302706529&sr=8-7 http://www.amazon.com/Cables4PC-LAPTOP-MOUSE-KEYBOARD-SPLITTER/dp/B000U64YLU/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1302706529&sr=8-16 But the comments seem that it sometimes works and it sometimes doesn't.

Interesting, I heard opposing opinions elsewhere. Is there any truth to mice and keyboards being wired differently? The motherboard documents that it works for both mouse and keyboard, but doesn't specify if whether that's at the same time or not.

I do a lot of network related programming, and also manage networks. Till this day, I'm still not quite sure what a "firewall" is.
More seriously, I suppose it's, roughly, any device or program that can be configured to restrict access to networked resources (either inbound or outbound), as opposed to a networked device accepting any and all requests without discrimination.
So if I lock down all ports except for one, and allow access to that port only with certain user names and the correct password for each one, that's a firewall?
