Care to give some examples? I use clang for my payjob every day, and it seems to work fine.
It explodes on various types of code (generally extreme C++). In fact, I can't use clang to compile a single one of my large projects, it doesn't work. Benchmarking output of several of our libraries, performance is also vastly inferior to GCC. If you want examples of the latter: http://insanecoding.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-read-in-file-in-c.html http://insanecoding.blogspot.com/2011/11/reading-in-entire-file-at-once-in-c.html Also, as one example, my company has our own MD5 implementation in the fastest C and hand tuned assembly we can come up with, output from our benchmarks: i386: ASM MT-Unsafe: 622 MB/s ASM MT-Safe: 575 MB/s OpenSSL: 566 MB/s GCC: 505 MB/s Clang: 478 MB/s AMD64: ASM MT-Unsafe: 625 MB/s ASM MT-Safe: 625 MB/s OpenSSL: 614 MB/s GCC: 517 MB/s Clang: 477 MB/s We're also in middle of building optimized SHA-2 routines, and right now, we're seeing GCC produce results which are >100MB/s faster than clang.

Yes, but I don't have time to sit down and whittle down the issue to a base problem and report it, especially when I have a perfect working solution. My boss would never sign off on spending a lot of time fixing problems for something inferior which we don't need.

GCC may be on the stagnant side, but it is a lot more polished than clang is. Even though clang is quickly catching up, I still find at times clang is abysmal. I don't use clang to seriously compile anything, although I do use it for a second opinion when I can't make heads or tails out of GCC's errors. I'd say 80% of the time, clang's diagnostic output is better, 10% of the time GCC is better, and 10% of the time, clang utterly explodes on the source and either crashes or gives utterly bogus output.

I think we need a page listing all the TASVideos memes for those that haven't been here forever and don't get all the inside jokes.

Interesting, other people are telling me Android Version/4.0 is getting some failures or even pop ups. Are there multiple browsers that match that description?

Note that many browsers are trying to restrict third party cookies by default, using "smart" solutions like accepting third party cookies only from sites you've visited before. IIRC Safari already does that and firefox is working on it.
The past two posts suggest you're correct.

No, I haven't found a way to do reliable authentication inside a third-party iframe yet.
You only need one method to work to achieve authentication. If the system supports multiple and can switch between them, it should work.

Hi guys, I'm building some new web authentication strategy, and I'd appreciate if you can help by posting results with different web browsers. This is an improvement over my previous test. Visit: http://www.nachsoftware.com/verymessyauth/ and report what is posted for each of the six tests. If you have access to a cell phone, tablet, set top box, video game console, please post results with those too. Thank you! This movie is so good, you really should've submitted it to TASVideos Pro. Also, the way this works is quite similar to the pipe system in the original SMB. So similar things may be possible there, time to beat: 3:24.02 ;)

Many newer browsers no longer allow third party cookies. This becomes a major issue when you have an application which is meant to be used in a frame, and you need some kind of way for the user to remain logged in. So I'm testing an alternative which I know can work with authentication propagation between different sites.

Hi guys, I'm building some new web authentication strategy, and I'd appreciate if you can help by posting results with different web browsers. Visit: http://nach.tasvideos.org/messyauth/ and report what is posted. Success would be a frame containing: "Welcome SuperUser! Your password is: CutePass" If the first test fails, please report which browser you used, and what the error was. Then please retest with http://nach.nachsoftware.org/messyauth/ and see if you get different results. Sample results: Firefox 10: "Welcome SuperUser! Your password is: CutePass" Chromium 34: "Welcome SuperUser! Your password is: CutePass" Opera 12.16: "HTTP 401" for both URLs (however, if pressing submit, it says: "Welcome SuperUser! Your password is:"). If you have access to a cell phone, tablet, set top box, video game console, please post results with those too. Thank you!
