Glad you guys like it :) It's been a ton of fun working on so far. Anyway, SonicPacker brought something to my attention that I think should be addressed, and that is how should the goals of this run be defined? It could just be something like "Beats the game while showing off glitches" but I don't know if that would be good enough for some people. So should it be defined by item/instrument collection or something?
Since it's a playaround, that's the general gist of it. If you go for a fastest method to X goal, people will do so and try to obsolete you without showing off ridiculous things in this game. That being said, I think you should come up with a couple of in game goals. Otherwise you might have some "Okay, but why did you do X and not Y?".

Update: Finished levels 4 and 3, got the honey comb, and got Marin. Should I keep Marin? If I go right to the Walrus and glitch that out, she leaves and reduces lag (in addition from what I've tested, if you load another area or reset with bow-wow and Marin, bow-wow kind of dissapears for a bit and you just have a glitched out Marin.) or should I forget the walrus and just go on with stuff? (I can upload a short WIP showing what having Marin is like)
I think it'd be cool to show her off for a bit. Complete the sign maze (before hookshot!), go wake that stupid chicken, and fly around. Go to those places where she can't get across, fly, and have her still manage to follow you.

Also at this point I got 300r and 6 shells and another thing I was thinking about is if I should get the hookshot or not.
I think you should. But defeat level 7 boss, and complete the sign maze before you do so.

Well, I just never saw someone eating horse meat But if you think this is correct, the opinion is from you
It's quite simple. Sentient Machines > Seventh Reich Members > TASers > Humans > Animals > Plants > Bugs > Other stuff When someone eats something lesser, such as me eating the members of this site, you shouldn't lament over the lesser. You lament over the greater for their teeth, or kidneys, or liver, or other health issues. Whether the horses are devoured or not is up to their superiors, Lions, Humans, TASers, Seventh Reich Members, and Sentient Machines. So if humans eat them, all we need to worry about is if it is a good idea for humans or not, or if it somehow affects the Sentient Machine takeover, or things like that.

Who suggested cruelty to horses? Unless you think eating meat is cruel. In which case I would label you anti-human. As for our most awesome of threads: HourGlass Retarded Horse Rerecording Box TASMan II: Dr. Nach's Revenge Edible Printers Horse Meat Lots of profit right here.

Ilari and I did ~70% of the work on this so far. For regular users, the initial changes are now in place. These categories now appear on their appropriate pages. RIP hacks page.

Nitpick...
How is it a nitpick? This is an extremely serious design thread. How should I know if you're referring to a horse meat sandwich, or if you coat your sandwich in horse sauce?

Okay, I added a category tag for "Homebrew or hacked game" for starters, so at least these will be organized well. Note, this tag really only applies for consoles. For DOS/Windows, since they are open platforms, anyone could release anything for them. They don't have an approval process by a singular gatekeeper. Therefore the tag does not really apply to them. Although they do have the rare occurrence of hacks (like modified maps for Wolfenstien 3D or Command & Conquer), there really is no good concept of Homebrew. A game like Bomberglob or Hugo's House of Horrors is just as official on that platform as Atomic Bomberman or Space Quest is.

I don't think unlicensed games fall under the term "Homebrew". http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/quattro-adventure/cover-art/gameCoverId,15646/

Doing this though would mean that junk like NES Air would appear on the NES page. Would that be annoying? Conversely, I'd want Super Demo World on the SNES page. Everyone should know about that game and its TAS.

Get on your reorg boots people. I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of Wiki: Movies-Hacks. The page has every movie which starts from an unclean state, which is already tagged. It contains multiple games in a movie which is also already tagged. Lastly, game hacks which is not tagged. I think this just makes things harder to find, and hides some great gems. How would you guys feel if the page just died, all movies appeared under their appropriate system, and we tagged hacked games as such. Then if you really want to see one of these categories, you can just look at the special movies by category tag pages? I'm interested if you agree, disagree, or have a better idea.

rog: Two of those were recent publishes that no one noticed, and the other just slipped by, but it's clear that the intention based on overwhelming majority is to put them there.

Why would you make a movie that "starts from SRAM" and not expect it to end up in the "Other" section?
To be fair though, one has to realize how little those sections are accessed. I know, I've seen various logs. Just the other day, I saw that our cache didn't even need to generate a PSX for nearly a day, it was so under accessed. Initially they were the portal to videos on the site. But we've since buried access to the system pages several links deep. They also take forever to load, so people avoid them. These days, most people see movies by looking at the front page, recent updates, our feeds, or the search feature.

I can help you with that. I'd be happy to schedule you to add some extra arms on the 22nd. Is that good for you?
Oh, Dr. Nach, that's brilliant. My other doctor never would have even thought to try something like that. I'll do it.
Excellent. By the time I'm done with you, you can expect 2012 words per minute, unless of course your brain is too slow. But we have some great addons for that too.

You can fly too! You just need to hop on a plane, and you can go anywhere in the world!
Hey, now you're stealing my ideas. If Hugo's House of Horrors taught us anything, the only mammal that can fly that can't fly is man. Edit: Incidentally, does Hugo's House of Horrors work in Horsebox yet turska?

Nothing wrong with being lazy. The truly lazy people invent things so they never have to work on them again. Since I invented the great name Retarted Horse Rerecording Box, I no longer need to think of an excellent name for any new software products, it's done! Just mix, match, and reheat, presto, instant product, just add powdered water!

We just need to make sure that Horsebox supports the edible printer drivers.

What about the Mega Man 10 "Bass, Hard Mode" and Metal Gear Solid runs? One uses existing save data and one uses a preinitialized memory card with data on it, yet are on the movie pages for their respective consoles.
There are others as well. Anyway, before starting this, i read the rules and guidelines. The guidelines say basically nothing about starting from a save. The rules however say it's not allowed, but then goes on to say it's allowed for (apparently) any reason, so long as a verification movie is provided. Maybe i should have asked for clarification about the terribly worded and contradictory rules, but i didn't, so i guess that's my fault.
I understand your confusion. The information is spread across the movie rules, guidelines, and judge rules pages, and each one has info not on the other. You really need to read all 3 to get it, and it still leaves some uncovered edge cases. I'm not going to hold this against you. I'll try to fix up our pages.

If this is really such a big deal that it either can't be published, or can only be published to some far off corner of the site that no one will ever find it at, i'll just make this simple for you and cancel the submission.
Don't cancel it, it is a nice movie that would make the site better. I want it published, just we need to clarify a few details.
rog wrote:
Again, all i'll ask is that the rules be reworded so they match the criteria submissions will be judged by.
Yes they should be. I'll try to take care of it once I get a chance.

Also, this won't sync when hexed to use the lowest difficulty. Of course then i'd imagine it'd be rejected for not using the harder difficulty, so it probably doesn't matter anyway, eh?
I can imagine, it doesn't have to sync, what I said above was more about the idea in theory.

Looks like an oversight by the publisher which needs to be fixed.

Impure movies only appear on the hacks/demo page.

I don't want this movie to be eventually obsoleted by someone using the regular mode, taking damage, and allowing weapon breaking, but I know rog has put in a lot of hard work making this, so I don't know what to decide.
That's a judge decision if taking damage and not taking damage should be combined or not. For this of course, strong input from the viewers is welcome.

Be that as it may, a no damage run can be done without using hard mode.
CoolKirby wrote:
Despite starting from SRAM, it will be placed in Wii movies, and not the Hacks/Demos section, right? Or would it need to start from a savestate to be placed there?
We place "impure" movies, those that start from SRAM or save state in a special section.
