That discussion is from some months back. There was an overall agreement to the idea, but it just never left the idea phase. Getting more coherent writing about the ideas, site implementation etc. would need to be left to adelikat or Nach, the latter of which I don't recall being involved in the discussion and the former of which tends to be busier/more interested in other stuff than site coding, until eventually we all forgot about it. I personally think it would be an improvement on the current system - currently, to me, Moons seem too diluted and I'd like to see them go back to "notable publications" rather than 60% of publications, and scaling Vault down to only the truly "low"/Vault-esque publications, including other low-end games like the board games a lot of people seem to be clamoring about. The middle ground would, in my mind, just be tierless/nameless, like old pre-Vault TASVideos. In effect, what I'd want to see would be similar to TASVideos as it used to be, just with the added Vault for those who are interested in those runs that didn't meet the old (or even current) game choice standards. @z1mb0bw4y: I'd be willing to talk about the qualities (and lack thereof) of board games and how we can fit them in our site structure (see above), but I can't take you seriously if you try to argue that Tetris is a board game. It is a video game, no physical board nor physical pieces are involved. For the record: I didn't just reject that submission because it was a board game, I rejected it because I didn't feel the game conformed to the site's standards as a proper, serious game. That is exactly why the board game/game show game/sports game/educational game rule is there in the first place. I know some people disagree with that rule, and that's what the new four-tier system idea is for, so let's focus discussion on that.

This is actually something I did some research into when I judged this movie. It turned out that yes, Jenga is indeed commonly categorized as a board game.

I'd think they would go by "Nintendo Co., Ltd.", as that is the official company's full title. EDIT: Or "Nintendo of America Inc.", which is what NoA used when e.g. removing SSB3DS leak videos.

I've split off a hugely derailed flame fest about adding sonicpacker's YouTube encode to the publication, as homerfunky had requested (which I've done a while ago).

That looks correct. The "The End" screen is skipped quite quickly, after which the game returns to the hub that you're seeing there.

No need to wonder when you can just look at it. Not that this is something to compete/find offense over. I am simply using it as evidence for what the correct scenario for this situation would be, which is rightfully linking to my upload, as homerfunky requested.
This I've already done. Stop getting your panties in a twist over it.

We have a policy of linking to an external YouTube encode instead of our TVC encode on request of the author, as long as the external encode conforms to publishing standards (which the senior publisher approved). We'll still have an encode on TVC, but the external one should be linked. I'd like to know Nahoc's reasons for stating otherwise. @sonicpacker: There are mature and civil ways to handle this. Swear-filled raging rants towards Nahoc are not one of them. EDIT: Also, I replaced the link in the publication to sonicpacker's encode.

The PSX port of the game has a menu glitch that allows the fortress stages to be selected without actually completing any of the maverick stages. Nobody has TASed it because as far as I know the game didn't run in pcsx-rr and PSXjin (and PSXHawk is not a completed or approved emulator yet). It's also not a terribly interesting run, just slowly X-Bustering basically every boss in the game. EDIT: relevant forum topic from a few years back

Spoiler for how this works: This game is full of debug codes. Pressing 2P Start just brings up the end screen immediately. What an anticlimax, isn't it? Especially since the size of this spoiler text makes it seem way more complicated than it actually is. Yeah. Voting no, too little Fist of the North Atlantic action.

If a snes9x v1.53 TAS can do it, I'd be quite surprised if the bsnes core couldn't.

So… how did that go?
It went nowhere. I ran into big luck manipulation hurdles at the intro boss fight, got disinterested as a result, and didn't hold contact with Rolanmen1 for long. Though it's at least nice to see there are some more improvements being found now. It gives a (potential) new run more of a purpose to be made.

what do you want us to say?i imagined it was a pure speedrun right from the start, the thread for the game said the original run was unoptimized andboring(but that was at a vaultless time ),i'm not really sure if i support this run.It may be published as a speedrun itself and we may let it be obsoleted later,i mean, why not? i'm not suggesting to lower standards,i'm just saying it's good enough even if we categorically know it's not be the best.
I won't accept it as a speedrun, because upon watching, the run doesn't even aim for speed. It's just not a speedrun, and if we were to judge it a speedrun it would be way below optimization standards. Hence I'm saying the run could only be accepted as a playaround, but for that I need audience feedback on whether it is a worthy playaround. @GoddessMaria: grassini is right in that this game is a beat 'em up, not a straight fighting game. Beat 'em ups are not scrutinized nearly as much, because they're generally more diverse and have more speed-related goals (movement, optimally clearing out waves) than just reducing the lifebar of the one person in front of you. This game is possibly still Vault material, but there's not much more the game can do about that.

It seems a little asinine though if we select that movie as a top quality run to showcase, when we know there is a run that's half a minute faster elsewhere.
