Random question - Can a NESBot be made to be compatible with a Powerpak and thus allow console verification of any NES game? Or is there a technical reason making this impossible?

The RTA WR is on White 2 ( http://www.twitch.tv/sinstar20/c/2545915 ) but I don't know if it means anything for TAS or not Also werster picked White 2 as well, having this to say: "Black 2 vs White 2: The difference between these games come from the layout of different areas. The first plasma first adds an extra battle for White 2, but the second one has two less battles in White 2. Reversal Mountain also has one less battle. Time saved for White 2: 2 battles, ~2 minutes" So unless there's something TAS/segmented only to exploit in Black 2 over White 2, White 2 is coming up as the winner.

I already thought about a G/S/C run as well, since there seems to be no run of it (not counting the glitchless run), but I don't know much about the glitches in this generation, yet, and they are not as well explored as in Gen I afaik. Also, it appears to be harder to gather information about it (e.g. I wasn't able to find any reliable information on the glitch used in the video you linked). There will be a lot of research to do first, but I may be up for it in the near future.
I suggest you approach TheZZAZZGlitch ( http://www.youtube.com/user/thezzazzglitch ) and PM him. He is an experienced glitch hunter in RBY and GSC (he helped demonstrate an arbitrary execution glitch in gold with the coin case, for example) and knows his stuff

Extra bonus if it could be used as a regular gamepad as well (perhaps there could be a switch to select which mode it is in.)
Indeed, it would be a great feature which could make the device look more credible in the eyes of casual gamers. Actually, it would be even more awesome if the gamepad could also log the buttons while in the "normal gamepad" mode, and then replay these while in the "TAS replay" mode (mode 3?). This would introduce even the most ignorant people to the concept of logging and replaying input (without needlessly bringing the next, complicated step: tools like savestates, etc). And no problem if these replays are going to be desync-prone - even a single successfull public attempt to replay World 1-1 of SMB should be enough to get the idea.

Rules for puzzle mode: -You can only make one 'stroke' that can't overlap itself -Every horizontal line must be made entirely black or entirely white If you think the TAS is boring, try to solve each puzzle before playing the solution. It gets hard in the 30s etc :)

Yes, I am aware it won't be perfect immediately or ever :) I'm still excited though. A big thank you for Warepire for working to improve Hourglass!

I think in preparation we should gather a list of games that will be TASable in hourglass once mouse support works. (Dustforce? Maybe Papers Please?)

Are you sure that's true ? o_O I don't know this site, I only uploaded my video over youtube, and 88k views in 4 days seams impossible... Anyways, I put this in descision : canceled and will post new version when done.
It's true, anyone can see the view count. Nicovideo has a larger TAS watching community than youtube does, and I've seen entertaining enough TASes break 100k in a few days (for instance, TASeditor's lttp TAS broke 100k easily) Of course nicovideo viewer count isn't a measure of TAS quality, just a novelty :)

Shaving frames off of an already contested, heavily optimized run is impressive. Even if it might not be a viewer-spectacular experience, it will improve your TASing skills a lot to do :)

Yes vote. I like how this arbitrary execution glitch is seemingly unlike any other in that it doesn't involve a single item or the inventory screen whatsoever.

IMO the timing used should be when 600k (or 500k) is hit, not when input ends, as that's what Sim City RTA uses. It also results in a wildly different strategy - wanting to make the perfect, fastest growing 600k (or 500k) city, not just the minimum required to eventually get 600k (or 500k). For example, what if you found an input that just baaaarely hits the population count and takes years to do so?

I think there are some stars that can be beaten with only the analog stick.

If you're not discussing anything related to the TAS, have you considered making a separate topic?

191 seems like a pretty low re-record count (approximately 1 per 2 seconds).

Sorry but i'll vote no. Stopped watching on first boss, even if the WR do any% and you 100% boss strategy MUST be the same. Yours lose time between you and WR. WR in NonTAS

I just thought of something else, for TASes that have 60Hz vibrations of movement it would be good to see if the stream can be capable of displaying what's going on (e.g. is there a good deblinking filter that works in real time?)
