The chapter 4 section with the circular battlestation that spins black and white streams of shots alternatingly is the iconic part of Ikaruga for me, so something from that would be my suggestion.
Seconding that this stuff is really, really important. Pretty much through my entire school/highschool life, I mismanaged my sleep quality and would often fall asleep during class and have no energy. I never questioned it - I just figured it was how things went. I only made a serious effort to understand what things make me tired and what things give me energy starting last year, and now I feel WAY more in control over my life now that I can make and verify predictions.
If you don't have energy, you can't do anything. It's a great place to start.
I think the best kinds of TASing related problems would be things like 'how do we make producing and optimizing a TAS, for human beings, as easy as possible'. For example, if you consider TASStudio to be superior to no TASStudio, what would be one step better than TASStudio?
zeromus's question is actually better, because
1) if it works correctly in an emulator, by definition correct = same as real hardware
2) since an emulator is provided, the code can be studied to fix Bizhawk
So it seems that Dolphin is responding to inputs perfectly fine, which leads me to conclude that this is caused by the game.
Yup, some games have a 1 frame input delay due to how they process input. So what you would want in this case is some kind of TASEditor modification where when you put input into a frame, it puts it into the PREVIOUS frame instead. No idea how hard this is.
Right now, if someone clicks on this topic, goes to the first post and clicks on the link in the first post, it's dead.
Could a mod edit it to point to the new location of Gruefood Delight?
What a great TAS. The near death experience on the crab fight (going from off the bottom of the screen and a miraculous comeback) actually got me to laugh out loud.
There's also a precedent for obsoleting old categories with new, more interesting categories anyway (for example, Maxim in-bounds was obsoleted by Maxim all bosses, and SotN all relics/good ending was obsoleted by SotN all relics/all bosses)
I don't see how you can vault it if it's not any% or 100%. If game within a game any%/100% was vaultable, then Beetle Mania max score would be in the vault.
