From what I watched in terms of looking over at input, there's questionable menuing in a sense, other than that everything else looks fine. Now restore the music cut. >:( Good start to your TASing career. Your difference table could use a little work though.

Hey Cadit what were your subs made with, and is it possible to grab the raws to that if it's not in an srt format?

Hello reirrab and welcome to TASVideos. I was actually a bit excited when I saw this submission. Curious how this compares to Hardest Path... I don't believe it's necessary to select Time Attack when there should be a dedicated RAM Value allowing you to do fair comparisons to say the Hardest Path movie (I'll look into this later). There's points on general bosses where you have questionable miss-shots; first, second and fourth On the first boss, you hit an enemy on one of the drops, where theoretically you would've had enough distance to be able to hit the mothership one last time. On the second boss, you unfortunately have shots that are missing entirely, where you could've in practice been able to shoot the enemy in the second wave... but there's another issue, the boss on this one can be beaten before it retreats the second time. On the fourth boss, there's a questionable miss-shot. On the final boss, when compared to FractalFusion you're allowing to be obstructed by the aliens, FractalFusion had to shoot one to get out of his way (and he had to deal with more cause hardest). In comparison to the Hardest Path you also don't play around enough in your downtime such as grabbing the extra points for no necessary reason, in my opinion this is what makes a SIE2 TAS unique. This is a great start, but more can be done.

After 6 years I'm still personally in the camp of "this TAS is incomplete as this title features more than one loop". I mean at least it's faster than the attempts from 6 years ago so thank you for that, but this game does get increasingly more difficult.

There's a thread dedicated to revisiting rejected TASes cause of rule changes. There is already a post asking about Bash. Judges are swarmed at the moment. Especially with one bright genius submitting two triviality TASes which forces more rule revisions. So how's about we let them get through everything that they can do at the current time, and let it be a "to get to"?

I think this is a mistaken submission as the author uploaded a userfile just before this.

Publication error on the YouTube. I'll correct it as soon as possible (terms of processing).

You improved only the final boss but claim sole authorship credit?
Going to agree with Arc on this one as the current publication and this submission are identical all the way until frame 25229. (Bar the reset frame, and the obvious 1 frame difference between FCEUX and BizHawk but that's practically null in terms of differences since it happens at the start.) The 47 rerecords should be added onto the 24334 from the current publication, and the authors of that movie should be correctly acknowledged by being the actual authors to this submission as well. Taking credit for yourself on others works where all you did was change the ending sequence is actually a poor sight to see.

I'm just going to break everything I saw down to keep it easy for everyone to know what I was thinking when I was watching this. Entering Options takes 4 frames, author does it in 5. Menuing and placing in the cheat for all characters is suboptimal. The sequence of input can be done in 13 frames, the author does it in 35 frames (this is including the changing the difficulty level as well). After that Story Mode can be selected in 3 frames, author does it in 6. These continued menuing issues continue throughout the TAS from selecting the character, and selecting the stages. This can be a sign for the low rerecord count where the author decided to make the movie as quickly as possible instead of taking their time. low% seems to be arbitrary and shouldn't be listed at all. This is apparent at the immediate start of Stage 3 (the first stage selected) when the author backtracks for some coins after defeating a wave of enemies. And also the high score that the author gets after defeating the wave of enemies due to combos. I personally got 3990 as my score after the first wave whereas the author got 9710 (both in Stage 3). As well as collecting the power-up immediately at the start of Stage 4. If you were playing "low%" shouldn't you be aiming for stock player stats? The mode can be played with 2 players as an additional note, does this change anything from playing in single player? The author classifies this as a "playaround" but I personally believe that is entirely unnecessary and believe it's probably more appropriate to branch this as "Story Mode". There are RTA runs that are faster than what's on display here if we remove the playaround element, and uses a default character; Kasumi. Which brings the question of; Which of the 12 characters is fastest to use?

I'm just going to break everything I saw down to keep it easy for everyone to know what I was thinking when I was watching this. The author allows the opening sequence to the title to play longer than necessary. The author also has suboptimal menuing, where not using the second player to input a single right to change difficulty nor pressing start which automatically exits out of the configuration menu on the same frame as selecting hardest (two to the right). The author doesn't hit A/B/C/Start when the Versus/Victory screen appears which allows to skip by such sequences sooner. Part of this can be associated with the low rerecord count as it seems the author didn't take their time in making this TAS. The author classifies this as a "playaround" but there is no sequence of using the second player to showcase other characters, all the author does is showcase Yusuke. There are RTA runs that are faster than what's on display here if we remove the playaround element. low% seems to be arbitrary and shouldn't be listed at all. The author also plays on an English fan Translation patch which is against the rules.

Hey despoa I'm just going to let you know that well ahead of time I had this claimed for Publication. But since this was accepted when I was asleep I couldn't grab it for myself. Can you please drop it.

Right. Bash. #7153: Craigelbagel001's PSX Crash Bash "200% No Memory Manipulation" in 5:21:19.83 The movie that was rejected just before the introduction of Standard, and the death of Vault. Despite it being pointed out that there was suboptimal issues, it was still going to be accepted. Under whatever the ruleset was back in August most of that has changed, meaning the clause of it having to be a "2 player, 201%" TAS has basically been pretty much null and void. A good way of looking at an example is the recently accepted N-Tranced submission which pretty much almost a 1:1 comparison to the now recategorized "N. Tropy" category. And because of this I can point out that there used to be an old argument of having to have more than 50% unique content in the old site logic, without getting into it (because I'm borderline using information I shouldn't be using) that was going to be a point against the Bash TAS. Under how the site is currently presented, logically and feel free to correct me, Bash is fair game with these categories for the site (MM - Memory Manipulation):
  • 200% (1 player)
  • 200%/201% (MM)
  • 201% (2 players)
  • any% (MM)
"Percentage Max is the preferred choice" does not work with this game since without Memory Manipulation present as there are unique strategies used in going solo, and playing in co-op. The only argument of it has to be 201%, can not be considered an argument due to both reaching the same credits, both reaching the main goal, and both actually being 200% in the European version of the game possibly due to some oversight. However, in writing that bit. I'm pretty sure that rule actually got nuked in the rewrite.

EZGames69 should've probably referred to what they wrote as "Changed the game name to be the American Title" since when present the American title is used in games first, then the European one. As long as the description states; "Out of This World, known as Another World in Europe" it'll be fine.

Much like with the other submission I have to again point to PacAttack's very own retro enthusiast Pinballwiz45b who has racked up a higher score than what was demonstrated here without tool-assistance: Link to video To recite what I wrote previously.

They're Ghosts, and you break your own category rules within 12 seconds. Edit: Since my main playing style is avoiding ghosts, this is what Ghosting a Ghost looks like to follow the category the author made who didn't actually follow through with it. Link to video Also without eating a Ghost I have a score of 257,850 in comparison to your 251,950 which ate ghosts. My movement is not entirely perfect to which I admit, but it's to showcase what can be done in that pacifist playstyle.

Hello sinphy and welcome to TASVideos. I'm just going to lay it out flat with my immediate thoughts towards a score focused TAS of CE. Better routing management, and better ghost manipulation can rack you up a higher score than what you have here in theory, and partially in practice. My personal style is avoiding the ghosts so I can't really showcase what that's like, but, PacAttack retro enthusiast Pinballwiz45b racked up a higher score than what was demonstrated here without tool-assistance: Link to video What you have provided is a good start. Edit: Got informed there is a higher score: Link to video

It's not "missing" it's unplugged. If you're using Octoshock: PSX > Controller / Memcard Configuration Do whatever you need to the port settings for the controller. Reboot core (Emulation > Reboot Core). If you're using Nymashock: PSX > Settings Under the Sync Settings enable whatever type of controller you need under Virtual Port. Reboot core (Emulation > Reboot Core).

Hey Clicher and welcome to TASVideos. TRON the Arcade Game has increasing difficulty from the amount of enemies to avoid, kill and their arrangements depending on the sub game (and MCP's defense becoming longer). This TAS in my opinion barely scratches the surface. It's a great start, but more can be done.

looking at the branch name > no warp / warpless Hello signupredir26 and TehEnglishSpartan and welcome to TASVideos. The very first thing you did in this TAS is a warp. This means your TAS is comparable to this publication which is 20 minutes faster. It is very inappropriate and a waste of frames to name Link and I quote "Penis" in creating your save, leaving it default/blank is faster. Grow up. There's also 520 frames of blank input at the end of the TAS but I'm not going to provide a correction, due to the prior statements because it's not necessary.

River City Girls Zero adds extended content to the base game if I'm not mistaken (yeah shock) so I don't think it's appropriate to name it to that title. Especially when the title was translated in a way to be a spinoff of the 2019 title.

There's input which can be compared to TrueSnokido's TAS of this title where there are elements in that TAS that come out faster such as climbing the ship adding a jump at frame 9926 in your input does shave off 4 frames as well as what goes on in that ship, not taking the bars across and instead running below is also faster in comparison. Memory also in the Judgement has an input file as well improving on that submission. Both of their TASes was done on the Easiest difficulty but I was strictly focusing on the movement. You can also save a frame by using that blank frame at 956 to start inputting the cheat a frame earlier (holding L). This is why I said last time to take your time as you would be able to find something new especially in the movement variety, I honestly thought you saw that submission before you started your newest installment. You have found new stuff in your inputs which is great such as what happens in 1-2. However, some of your input is still comparable to what I provided to you last time where my input in 1-3 is still faster in comparison unfortunately. I do have input in Act 2 that would also be comparable to what improvements can be made but that input sequence is based on what you made, but, what Memory and TrueSnokido's have provided is probably more than enough to compare against. I'm not beating around the bush on this one, this is a real good TAS that should've had another look around in its input before a submission and seeing what else can be scrapped off. A light spike as well where I personally don't believe the showcasing of the final IGT is necessary and can be left as a statement of 19:15, or that it should've been the alternative file. I'm also personally still against using the Time Challenge mode as there's no real change in comparison to Director's Cut mode as it's just a timer, and since this is a TAS going fast is the immediate priority, not what some clock says on how much time we have left, it doesn't really hold any suspense. In conclusion this is an insanely improved TAS to what you showcased 4 months ago, but there's still stuff that can be looked at. Good job M1D.

How we branching it is the question? Do we follow the RTA community naming "N. Tropy" as "defeat N. Tropy" when translated to the site, or does "N. Trance" get a branch instead?
