How's about extended input instead? It's is a good addition for a publication and that way it can be presented with a neater bow, but with the original time of 4:52.92. An example of this would be [4724] Linux Six Cats Under by Spikestuff in 00:41.83. The Publisher used the extended input so the camera doesn't go all the way left, and remains at the door but retains its time of 41.83. It would be listed as an "Additional Downloads" but it won't be the feature of the final time, instead it would be the original input's time.

goes up to a microphone Would. Alternative sram which in theory should work as well but I can't be bothered validating. Also I believe this classifies as "maximum score" for the branch as well. Supercut encode: Link to video

Gens is the preferred emulator for the Sonic TASing community due to the amount of tools and resources that are behind that emulator. There is no point for this gatekeeping on emulators when Gens is the objectively better emulator for the Sonic community.

YES. YES. YES. HOLY BLOODY HELL YES. *places shotgun to claim on table.* coughs I mean yes, this is a real damn impressive job to find and brute force a way to imitate a credits warp abusing the save functionality. 7 years after the original discovery of "Memory Manipulation".

Yes. The author's playing on default meaning that the vitality is 2. Meaning that it only requires 2 shots to the head to win. Out of interest, and immense curiosity, I decided to look into it. So first, is default settings against the AI, which can be found here (66 frames). Next is changing the vitality to 1, which can be found here (12 frames). So the major difference is the amount of shots, 3 shots total, versus 1. And I decided to see what "vs Human" was like, just out of interest, that can be found here (8 frames) with unadjusted vitality settings.

It's just so I know when I'm able to move the valve due to the long wait. There's nothing to it. This is also done in the PlayStation version.

Coin management is also another thing the TAS might have to do as well to reduce the coin bonus, as well as the free puppies bonus. The Puppies one can be avoided, but the coin one is harder to route around, especially with the lack of knowledge I have, but the lack of information being provided here.
54 frame improvement out of Stage 3. Stage 3 also uses the original input from this submission on 3 - 4, adjusting one thing slightly. I've now adjusted more than half this TAS, and I need to emphasize this. Stage 1 isn't optimal.

Frame improvement adjusting a missed input (this is a mood), under keeping the mode official boot, and GBA mode. Requesting co-auth if that's alright with the author.

The biggest problem here would be plagiarism
Comparatively without that "disadvantage", it would be a 14.58, an improvement over the previous submission: Link to video Also don't worry about "plagiarism" as much. I guess? A Judge can probably explain this bit better, cause I know I wouldn't be able to.

And it was still common to reject TASes over it using the wrong bios. That's not an justification to publish something using the wrong bios.

And personally, even though I know input that I helped provide as an improvement for Pepper is being used without credit, it would be nice if the final result was actually optimal (-24f out of Level 2, possibly still improvable).

it would also kinda suck to force the author to do even more work,
Porting this TAS to BizHawk would be much more preferable, and it doesn't have to be the author who's "required" to do it, in your words. Community work is a thing. People are allowed to port someone else's work and take secondary credit where need be The project should be mostly salvageable to keep Noxxa's name as an author without them needing to update the title themselves.

Personally I'd rather see this TAS updated and moved to BizHawk instead of it being a PSXjin TAS.

What does that mean?
If you've TASed libTAS in conjunction with MAME you would know you would have to make two saves at least on the first time when creating the movie. I don't know what the actual reasoning is (because I keep forgetting), but it basically starts a new thread(?) so you can't return to an earlier sequence of your input.

Imagine deciding that today you just want to be Icarus. Firstly get the latest version from github, grab the AppImage. Firstly extract the AppImage:
chmod +x ./flycast-x86_64.AppImage
./flycast-x86_64.AppImage --appimage-extract
And then go into that newly extracted file to .\usr\bin\ to fish-out flycast. Within libTAS to boot into game you just write the cue file of the title, in my case that would be:
"Charge "N Blast (USA).cue"
Pros:
  • Has Controller Support
  • Can Pause
  • Can Turbo
  • Can Rerecord (drop a save immediately).
  • Can Dump Video
Cons:
  • Can't Dump Audio

You can upload to your userfiles and forward that here. And the Judge would take care of it (the Judge will also generally fix it themselves).

I believe you should watch yourself before you gate off several communities at once because of your thoughts. As I said in my previous post on the topic. Baten Kaitos 100% is an infamous two week speedrun. Tears of the Kingdom 100% is above 24 hours at the current time of writing. TASVideos will not gatekeep a full completion, not now, not ever.
