True: Very nice! And it seems like the card flowers are still visible in that version. So them disappearing in the TAS is actually an emulator bug then. Edit: And in the Nicovideo version, they are also visible http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23404906. I'm quite confused... Edit2: Alright. It seems to be a bug in the PRG0 version, fixed in PRG1. Case solved, lol.

For the smv I used there is a route that won't work. Once warping to PoD, it is impossible to get out without using the mirror, which this route would skip for the moment being. And I can't S&Q as that would take me back to Link's house, at the very beginning of the game. The two other routes is to get the sword and go through the sewers without Zelda, or with Zelda. Testing that atm. For the Swamp Palace: It's actually faster to skip the Big Key in Swamp by first enterting the dungeon, upon up the waterway, leave and warp from Hera. I want to do some timing with it myself, so I don't remember how much ti saves.

Here is an example: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/231361119/DM%20to%20PoD.smv I thought that you were able to open big chests too. Doesn't seem to be the case... Oh well =). It will also be used to go from Misery Mire to Hera's Tower, and from Hera to Swamp. If the route won't change some more, which it always is.

If you use the Exploration Glitch from a dungeon into the next, with correctly loading the next dungeon, you can however use keys in other dungeons. And if glitch from a cave into a dungeon, you'll be able to open key locks and the big chest without having any keys at all (Which the new TAS will display).

I just use the Autohold feature in the emulator for those inputs. Well, the reason why the the Superjump works is because Link hasn't got anywhere to land from the angle he makes the jump from, until he lands up on the castle wall. In the GBA version, the overworld part is the same there. So they must have changed something to make it not work, though I don't know what it is. The teleporting with diagonal walls work the same way however. So does any wallclipping into diagonal walls, such as the one to bypass the guards.

Yeah, there are many JP 1.0 only glitches for this game, that are useful for almost all categories. And I don't really like the GBA version in general, even though it is faster in many cases (Like text). But you can indeed use the lamp for the curtains, yes. The "superjump" I did in that TAS to reach Hyrule Castle can not be done on the GBA version. I tried a long time without success at least. Might have been I that told you that on Youtube, I've told a few people at least :). Here is the smv of my WIP (SNES9X 1.51, JP 1.0) that shows how it was done: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1248639645/EasternFirstWIP.smv While I did use both up+down, up+down+left+right and up+left+right, I believe I managed to do it without any left+right/up+down inputs. Can't remember for sure though...

My glitched run is swordless :). But it is impossible to finish all dungeons and beat all bosses swordless. You can't reach the first Agahnim battle without the sword, as you need it to open up the curtains before the fight. Same problem with Mothula. And the sword is the only thing that could kill Ganon. But except those, yes, you could probably make a Swordless TAS. I haven't actually thought about it before... If I could ignore those places, then sure. What ya think?

This is the same category which I previously worked on, which is basically "All Dungeons no Exploration Glitch". Improving the run published on the site, though with a slight change in the rules.

I haven't worked on this for awhile. Though Yuzuhara just showed up in IRC showing this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/530592896/bluepotionglitch.smv (9X 1.51, JP ROM) I'm stunned and laughing in confusion :D.

I just compared, the mode7 one seems to be one frame faster than the regular one actually. But still, a clean ROM is needed anyway. I didn't manage to find a good one either, except for the European version. I would imagine it being the same however. Also, as you'll have to redo this with a different ROM, I suggest you switch to VBA V24 instead of V23 =).

In the Japanese version of A Link to the Past. If you play the chest minigame where you can win a heart piece, it is impossible to get the heart on the first chest you open (You get two chances). In Oracle of Ages, you have to visit a house to get a nut from a guy. The guy is always in the second house you check.

For the people who can't afford the $25: I'm planning on releasing my Donkey Kong Country TAS later on. Though signing up for TAS videos Pro will give you an earlier view of it. Part of the contract says that I'm not allowed to release it for three until three months after TASvideos Pro publishes it. It's worth both the money and/or the wait to see it though, I assure you!

With both Bizhawk 1.6.0 and 1.6.1, when I choose to "Play Movie...", I get an error with this message: http://pastebin.com/iUauXqtg It then opens up the Play Movie window anyway. But I'm again getting an error when I try to play it: http://pastebin.com/t98q9Mz7 This time resulting in nothing...

That's the time when the Clock Tower is opened. As Link, it is possible to use bombs and hover into the loading zone, so there is no need to wait the second time entering. But as Deku, you have to wait.

Skater has the second best time currently, with his 19:00: http://www.twitch.tv/skater82297/c/3751632 Shaeden/Pydoyks hasn't been streaming for over four months. Not sure if he'll go back to OoT or not. Heard he was busy with Melee or something like that...

I just watched the run. I didn't expect the Genesis version to be that different from the SNES one! It really makes for a better TAS than SNES as well, even though I don't really like the music for Genesis, oh well :). Neat run at least!

It has already been on console at least, True. Edit: Seems like Lord Tom's 3:42 was uploaded to Nicovideo: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23068901

I had an idea to get the Fire Flower in the fort and clip through the corner in the spike room, to reach the whistle. But it doesn't seem possible at all? I would guess that flower is faster to grab at least, if it can be worked out. Also, Andrew, there are no flowers in 1-3.

Shouldn't there be more pipes taking you to the glitch area? Any ones higher up that are faster to take? Or will it not work perhaps? Also, is two players input required for the glitch? And nice stuff in general :).

Zowayix: For the first one. Just to clarify, you don't need the ice blocks there to do the glitch. You can just keep jumping and holding downleft. That's how I originally found the glitch to begin with. When you do it with a pipe that takes you to an underground part of the level, such as in 3-9, 5-3 etc, Mario will go down so low that he reached the top Y-pixel of the level. He'll then start falling until he runs out of time. Though if you speed your X-speed while falling, the timer will go slower and you'll be able to land again before the time runs out. You'll then be normally at the top area of the level, though still with the camera stuck below until you go down the pipe again. So the explanation is quite faulty on that site I would say.
