2 player mode can be fun, but also very annoying. I'll probably give it a shot at least. I found some improvements to my task 3 run, so I'm going to send you a new one pretty soon.

Just submitted mine as well. Looked through it a few times, tested stuff, but I couldn't spot any improvements. So there you go!

This game was actually very fun to TAS, might even consider doing a full run of it. Anyway, I'll join the competition at least :). Edit: Ok, I'm done with task #3. I do have a request on changing the start timing however. As you time stuff yourself, you don't need to bother, but still :). Considering that you can start moving before the screen gets visible, it's not that easy to know which frame is the first one. Why not starting the timing from the first frame in the movie? As everyone is supposed to play from reset anyway, will also be easier to calculate the final time. I guess the ending timing could work fine as is. I usually prefer to have the end at the first full black/white (Or whatever) frame. Also... If I send in my run now, can I still send in an improved version later in case I find improvements?

Some nice stuff there indeed. Investigation time is in the works. You think you can manage to find a similar video but for DKC? I have had no luck so far.

Great run so far, keep 'em coming! And thanks for the encodes, Gocha. Nice to have for lazy people :).

Adelikat streamed a tutorial to find memory addresses. It was also recorded and can be seen here. I hope that will help you, if not I'm sure that people could help you out to find useful addresses for the game.

He removed it because the quality was horrible.

When watching, it looks like it was played in real time and wasn't really that impressive overall. So I made a little test on the first level. Quickly done, but still three seconds faster than your version, and still being very improveable. Voting no.

Not even 153 Pokémon? Oh well... I guess I'll vote yes anyway. Awesome run :D

Randil: Currently, the only lag frame is in 1-1, but it has been mentioned that it can be removed without losing time, we'll see about that though.

I see no reason at all to publish both version... If it will be published, it will be Swordless' only.

Nope, no progress on this yet... I still need to find myself some motivation to TAS this game. But it will come eventually.

Now when I think about it... 30 seconds is probably a little bit over the top. But I usually set a high goal, it gives me better motivation to try harder when running. Sadly, I wasn't thinking the same way when I made the previous TAS, as I was quite lazy with several things, such as manipulation. I'll do better next time.

I really like this minor improvements you are coming up with, very nice. For the arrows, I came up with better strategies in Ganon's Tower that saved me a few arrows, which obviously wasn't included in my arrow route for the run. And I didn't feel like redoing 2 dungeons in order to save 5-10 frames to fix this error. Looks a bit bad to have arrows left in the end, but this is the explanation for it at least. I don't understand what you mean with your last sentence... Do you mean the glitch when you use the mirror after you have pushed a block so that it disappears? Is there a different method that works with the US version as well? I'll see when I get back to TASing this game, either an improvement to my full run, or redoing the 100% run. I actually feel more like doing the any% run, as I already know of about 30 seconds of improvements (Not counting the stuff you have been posting).

Just a quick note for the Bowser kill... I didn't discover that he could drop faster after you kill him. An earlier real time run (I believe) had this method in it, I don't remember seeing that one though, but someone asked in a SMB3 topic at SDA, how this was done, several years ago. I had since then known about this but thought that the previous TAS-runs didn't include it because it wasn't faster anyway or something like that. So I didn't even bother to ask about it. But while I was doing the Bowser fight, I just tried to see if I could get it to happen, succeeded and noticed that it saved about 45-50 frames. When you shoot him the last time, you shall hit him the frame he makes a jump, not the frame when he lands as mentioned in the submission text. Thanks for the comments and glad that you liked the run.

I even mentioned it earlier in the topic, I'm stupid... Yeah, just use a ring secret to get the rings you need. I'm feeling so dumb now.

I can start with the Subrosians that steal your feather. I have tried the following methods (Without success): Jump as far as possible with feather+pegasus seeds. Jump as short as possible. Jump to try to activate the cutscene but then fall into the lava. Jump as far to the left/right as possible. Jump and get hit by a bomb when the cutscene starts to be blasted away. If you have any other ideas, feel free to test. Bombs shouldn't be bought, "just" manipulate them. I'll fix routes and such for that (As well as seeds). Just don't waste any like you did in the first dungeon, or else it may screw things up. Manipulating the Power Ring will be insanely hard. She can drop 30 different rings, not sure if all rings have the same probability. But as she won't always drop a ring, the chances are very low to get one. I should check how much it will actually save to have the ring, if it even saves anything...

Not sure how well that was TASed really, doesn't really look like frame advance was used properly. As many of the rolls look delayed. I'm going to ask for the vbm.
