My comment had nothing to do about cheating, but that all runs aren't kept at archive.org, which was also what I quoted so it should have been obvious =).

Wait what?! Tell me more about this :))
This is only 8 years old afterall, but most of the info here: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/weve_removed_tsas_runs_from_the_site.html I can fill in with more details if wanted, as it was later found out that more of his runs were spliced as well.

Although one point I never liked in SDA was how only the current fastest run would be allowed for a category. Previous runs might be useful in the future and those get removed.
They do NOT get removed off archive.org. If we didn't remove them off our server that would mean even more server costs.
After TSA was exposed, all of his runs were deleted from both SDA and archive.org. So this problem technically exists there as well.

Your avatar explains the trailer well enough.

Yes, picking up barrels are limited in the run. One of the reasons I'm not excactly sure what to call this category, basically a combination of "No Y" and "Walkathon", I suppose. If I use Y anywhere to pick up barrels, then I could use that to first off get Diddy early in the first level. It would allow me to use the Super Jump glitch more, though I haven't tested if it could be faster anywhere, but possibly. And with the Split Up glitch, I could bring Expresso to Croctopus Chase just like in the 101% TAS.

DKC2 gets stuck in 1-3, DKC3 can reach the first boss, but you can't beat him without throwing the beetles in his mouth, which requires Y.

You can open up the .fm2 file in a text editor and simply copy and paste inputs from one movie to another. It won't display frame numbers however, so you'll need line numbers to keep track of where you are. It's also possible to open up the input file from a .bk2 file as well. They are zip files, so you can open it with Winrar or whatever and then open the input log.txt. As the two are in a slightly different format, you can't directly copy inputs this way from .bk2 to .fm2, but at least you can view the input presses if you are unable to open up the run in Bizhawk.

Here's a quick encode: https://youtu.be/6tXD68q7pNo As it was almost five years ago, I don't remember too many details on what I did and why... Ignore the hyena fight, unless it wasn't obvious =)

I did some work on this a couple of years ago, though only finishing the first level. My WIP is is 111 frames faster up to the Hyena http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/18420659661250028

In theory, yes. But that would destroy the goal for this category, as you would be running constantly.

I've been talking to Hulk about this, he didn't know of it. It happens because of a sprite overload when spawning all the leaves. I need to either slower down a bit or hit one of the enemies. In the end, I'm not sure if getting the 2-3 magic will be faster or not.

So I was suggested by Le Hulk to get the magic in 2-3 instead of 2-4... But when I then tried to TAS 2-4 without the magic, this happens: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/54081417317107439 More or less crashing the game... It will eventually continue playing, one frame between the "crash frames", and you'll be able to make it stop, which will do some weird things to the game that I have yet not explored fully. Edit: Well, you can actually get an actual crash from this as well, several different kinds. Maybe ACE potentional? I haven't been able to find anything useful with it so far at least.

It works with any wall, and he'll always go down, yeah. If you are at the top of the wall, Mickey can clip into wall and stand still there, which also happens at a few places when going down. As these blocks are limited to 6-1 and 6-3, and neither level is going down, this is quite useless. As for my progress: I'm still struggling to get a good RNG outcome against Pete. He has to start his attack as early as possible and spawn the candles, and I simply can't get it =(.

I found a way to clip into walls: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/53921018897655086 When you throw the arrow blocks, you get boosted backwards. This is currently used in my TAS to get boosted forwards in the third area, though it can also be used to clip into walls. Sadly, there is no use for this that I can think of.

That stupid ice boss. I figured out that the reason why it was different, was because I didn't pick up the water refill at the start of the level. Such a dumb and random thing. But no, I didn't lose any time on the fight, the opposite instead :).

Struggling on the final boss atm... Not giving me any nice patterns currently, I'll solve it eventually :D. Just felt like saying that this isn't dead.

I'm almost exclusively watching the Youtube stream on Youtube. I only download the input files if there is something I need to see how it was done, usually as reference when I'm TASing the game, or to have a movie file to fast forward in order to get a save later in the game. I never ever download any MKV/MP4 files.
