Is it me or is there a mistake in the NG+ TAS? In Death Egg 2, you take a detour at 0:28 to pick up 3 ring boxes. However you finish the boss with 41 rings spare, so you can do without those boxes, right? Or is there something less obvious that requires them?

Na I am fully aware the game works fine. I am also aware there is some hacking going on, mostly in XD, to determine the IV generation method, which is very different to that used by the GBA games. This knowledge can be used as a basis to start TASing these games - get a perfect starter or Feraligatr, then get to grips with combat RNG manipulation. Unlike the GBA games this is uncharted territory, but I suspect GameFreak just gave Genius Sorority a bunch of code used in the handheld games, and that is mostly understood now. It is known that Colosseum at least can generate IV combinations which the handheld games cannot, so there are some fundamental differences too. Figuring out what other quirks and changes GS made (such as AI determining enemy moves after you select yours) will be fun

I am contemplating revisiting this game, but with a new category - a minimalist run. The levels would go by very quickly compared to the regular run, and the bosses would be slower but have some creative summon use. For sanity's sake I plan to do this on Normal difficulty rather than Hard - L1 Thunder is pathetic on the later bosses and this would look more entertaining than a lot of waiting around for Rolling Thunder recharges. For fun I will not level up the summons at all to make it a true minimalist run. I have been considering this for a while, and now I am just wondering if there will be much support for a second category. It will be very different to the regular run, and show off more summon capabilities, which can only be a good thing.

I would like to request a fix to the 2038 problem that Desmume currently experiences. In Pokemon DS games, a Pokemon's initial seed (and therefore its random stats) can be influenced by the starting date the DS is set to. RNG manipulating Pokemon to have the best stats has been known about for some time, and this knowledge can even be applied to a TAS. I did not test this myself, but a valid date for the best IVs for a starting pokemon was found to be in the year 2088, but unfortunately setting Desmume to this date (or almost any date it seems after 2038) causes it to crash. Without the ability to choose all possible dates safely (a DS has a date range between years 2000 and 2099) a Pokemon DS TAS will be severely hampered, and will in fact be sub-optimal since better stats were available in the game but prohibited by the emulator. Thanks in advance.

Yes voting, crazy fast. Was most impressed with Carnival Night 2 boss without bubble shield, and (I am a little OCD about this) seeing 2 extra lives from one score count up.

As an old RPG geek who actually played some old skool D&D (read: 2nd edition) I appreciate this TAS on a different sort of level. A bit boring inbetween dungeons, but great elsewhere. A yes vote from me. Music is kinda sweet also

Updating information to say that a Hall of Fame location has been discovered within 15 minutes of entering the void. Now it would be helpful to know any battle RNG knowledge and a method to runtweak that doesnt tweak the z-axis. Any help appreciated, I cannot do it myself as I am back in the limbo of no computer again :-(

I've finally learned the value of subpixels, and saved another 8 frames on the first stage. Guess this means I'm restarting from scratch to see if I can improve stuff even further.

No offence to Nitrodon, but I'm fed up of waiting for an FE7 TAS to appear, so me and cheetah are starting on one ourselves. First approach is to see if there are any improvements to LNM, although I doubt we will find much, having a fresh pair of eyes often helps.
