I didn't know Stone Golem was vulnerable to Exit. Goodness... all these years I've been whaling on him unecessarily.
Yep, and Skullirus Rex, too, it always made that final dungeon a little bit faster for me, hehe. But the Dark King's weakness to Cure was always a little random on my end, sometimes he was healed on the second Cure and sometimes only the third...Either way, after the first couple rounds he always skipped straight to his final form. This was the only Final Fantasy that I owned for YEARS, so watching this brought back great memories (like having to send in my cartridge to Nintendo because it'd glitch in the Basin and freeze every time...pfft). This run definitely gets a yes from me....If I could vote.

haha wow, I stop paying attention and someone starts doing one ;P I've started following this great site and have considered that if I was going to do a run of my own, I'd start with this game, one of my favorite platformers EVER. But I got beat to it by someone who knows what he's doing already, probably a good thing hehe As for your run, it looks great, the way you took care of the first couple bonus stages especially took away all doubt that this game would make an awesome run. I'm pretty certain that there are very slight instances that could ever so slightly be optimized even better, but I'm not one to say considering I haven't done any speedrunning before. Either way, good luck with it! And the SITE that you linked to; I've been looking for a translation of the japanese in the game for a very long time! (Well not actively, more like just waiting for it to drop in my lap and it finally did, thank you! :P)

Oh. They sounded the same from the description. Well, this is similar, then.

To answer a couple of questions in this thread, I present to you the website of a portugese hacker called Esrael: http://www.projectnemesis.ibforums.com/esrael/

I wonder if there is also a hack that puts just the spin-dash in Sonic 1...
It's there, yep. He doesn't roll up when he does it, and it doesn't seem to rev up the more you press it. But it works. It's great, but just slower and not quite as cool as in the sequels (but then again, neither is Sonic ;P )

S2 Long Version is a hack of Sonic 2 that includes Wood Zone, Dust Hill Zone, and some other zones that I've forgotten... but I wouldn't recommend doing a speedrun of it; it's not yet finished.
Finished. He hasn't touched any 'Sonic 2 Delta' in over a year, but since there are monsters, music, and bosses in all of the new levels, I'd say it's good to go. I prefer Sonic 2 Delta II, it includes the new Beta levels and monsters etc, but it also has a ring counter next to the normal that keeps track of how many lone rings are left in the level. It also has Knuckles and 'Knuckles and Tails' modes, and I think it's all complete down through the final boss. Oh, but special stages are entered like in Sonic 1, big ring at the end blah blah The site also has a level editor and other tools, it's pretty cool I say. Trouble is, all of the hacks are in ips patches, no roms. Which is FINE, but you've got to find a good rom, preferrably .bin, and use something like IPSWin, etc...I can provide some prepatched ones, if that's alright on this forum. And whatever other interesting related stuff I've found. I've got some Sonic 2 Ultima with new levels but I don't think it's complete...
