While I won't discuss stickyman's reasoning for the vote, technically, he is correct. First generation TASes of even remotely complex games have always, always been improvable because it's quite practically impossible to find everything that will be useful the first time around. Whether that should be taken into account when voting, I'll leave that on his own conscience.

The full quote was as such (emphasis mine):

I should also point out that mmbossman's qualms were quite valid. Don't forget that judges are judges because they are supposed to be able to appraise the quality of optimization without having to check everything for themselves (although that's always welcome).

After all, objective would mean that it would be based on something other than an individual viewer's knowledge and ideals, so it might as well be calculated by a robot.
And robots have their references programmed by… right. Nowhere to run, huh? :)
I don't understand why we should even try to be objective where it's not only unneeded, but also impossible. Similarly, the votes aren't getting any more objective due of their amount, and thus we shouldn't treat them as such in the first place as well.

But I've been told all people here love these messages: "I think you could maybe shave a frame somewhere, so I will give you only a 9 in tech", so I don't care anymore. I'll try to like those messages too from now on.
Mind if I ask for examples?

I use the new system as I see fit. There's nothing stopping me from saying what I think about a run in a relevant discussion thread without having to state the rating marks. I can even add a "yes vote" there if I want.
[EDIT]

I've nothing against the new voting system, it's the focus on shaving frames instead of providing an entertaining movie that's been slowly killing my interest in TASes and this site. And what exactly was so "beloved" about the word timeattack?
Damn, I second 100% of this post. :)

I think it's relatively simple. Say there is a certain glitch that can be used to save time. It means you should use it everywhere it saves time. If it results in beating the game dramatically faster than normal (as it is with EG), don't include it in the non-glitched category whatsoever. Every glitch should either be used to full extent, or not at all.

As for me — I don't think Jesus himself has had any substantial influence on people until after his death. So, it's likely I wouldn't really have cared. Then again, this is strongly hypothetical.

For some reason, it feels like the people on here are ignoring me just like the other site I was on. I feel lonely! Someone please talk to me! : (
That might be because you haven't left any questions hanging, or some new/exciting information that hasn't been discussed. You just posted random observations on the run that is in production and going to be submitted sometime soon. Three weeks without progress reports is not that much at all, you're just not used to it.
That being said, if you just want to talk, we have an IRC channel (see top of the page).
Edit: Beaten by AngerFist.

Have you tried to boost up when the ape bot explodes to see if it reduces lag from the explosions? Can't think of anything else that might be useful.
IIRC, Nitsuja said one of the most improvable parts of his TAS was luck manipulation (most prominent in the Axle Gear fight, I suppose).

I guess I would rather argue against having this feature as the part of the forums themselves. If anything, it would not help people to read the entire post or to understand its meaning. What it can do is letting people read less and make premediate assumptions, which is something I suppose we don't want.
Having it as a part of e-mail notification, however, would be both cool and useful. Perhaps this is better discussed in a separate thread?

Well, you could also raise an issue that some (all) movies can't be reproduced on the real consoles because their emulation isn't 100.00% perfect (it really isn't). Alternatively, you could ignore that and simply enjoy the movies.

Compared it to some of my old stuff I made for this game. Taking a damage boost from the first Rio in Brinstar saves at least 20 frames compared to your/Saturn's method, so it might be worth looking into if you can skip a boost or grab a big energy ball beforehand. Kago manipulation was damn great.

Just as healthy as playing the same game over and over, which many people do. :)
In regard to your plot, NBMB and 100% are mutually exclusive goals (you can't glitch past certain bosses and still get all the items they unlock), unless by NBMB you just mean glitching through walls when feasible, while still getting all items. I guess that could work. NBMB low% and any% are the same, though, and there's no real difference between in-game and realtime runs for them either, except some different door entries and gratuitious lag abuse (amounting to no more than a couple seconds of meaningful difference).
I guess it's no much use dreaming (despite your username) of some ideal conditions on the site, becasue that's still extremely unlikely to happen.

Rather, it just depends on what one calls a glitch.
In both cases, Saturn passes through solid object, which the game doesn't normally want nor even allow the player to, so I guess that's technically a glitch. Torizo skip, on the other hand, is merely an engine abuse, because the game doesn't want the player to succeed, but fails short in the method. This is much like edge-of-ledge oversights in many platform games where you can propel yourself on a higher ground (that you can't normally jump to) by the means of absolute movement precision or using enemies as platforms.
However, the real major difference is that he has to fight all bosses, and the 6% run just glitches around them and tricks the game into thinking the player defeated them. One could say a 14% run is still playing by the game's rules, while the 6% run is setting your own.
