yeah they stopped their timing at final hit of wily wheras i stopped timing on the last textbox. the reason i do this is the textboxes need input to advance and only after that the game credits start to roll. compared to their run if i timed it on last input before the hit on wily it´s roughly 45 seconds faster. edit: i just checked that if I use their timing it´s a 34:30
Oh, I see. Thank you for explaining. Edit: Having watched the run now, I can say it was very entertaining. I especially enjoyed the health management in Crystal Man's stage. Yes vote.

#2125: Bag of Magic Food & PreddY's GB Mega Man IV in 35:23.12 is 30 seconds faster than this submission, and was rejected for being suboptimal. Can you explain?

Due to various circumstances, I've recently found myself playing Dust: An Elysian Tail. The game has a very high quality soundtrack, but my favorite up to the point I've played so far must be the Abadis Forest and Archer's Pass theme. 's pretty magnificient.

MoronicTAS, if you don't intend to submit to tasvideos, it's all up to you what emulator you want to use. I do however think that the time needed to set up BizHawk and getting used to its interface will be well worth it in terms of productivity and features. Plus you can actually make pretty videos of the run without having to sacrifice a goat to the A/V dumping gods.

I still can't get over how they managed to release a game as glitchy and unappealing as this. Anyhow, the TAS was good, I liked the wall clips a lot. I thought the ending looked very bad until I realized input had already ended, which suddenly made it pretty clever instead. Voting yes.

Kurabupengin, if you want to start learning programming with the intent of eventually porting a core or even just for fun, you may want to start posting in this thread. It doesn't really make much sense going into more detail than is given in this thread already because it would require an intermediate level of programming knowledge. You also should have a good understanding how emulators in general work. //I think the original response was in part generated because this forum tends to be more about concrete support questions and bug reports, rather than idle chatter without any real purpose, so people get irritated when these types of questions are asked. For an opposite situation, let's say for example you were in the process of porting a core and had a specific question about a specific problem you're running into - that would probably grant you a more helpful response.

I just want to play games without TASing, and this page shows that puNES is overall most accurate. But is that page trustworthy? I feel I should stick with Bizhawk, because of this thread.
The differences in accuracy between FCEUX, Bizhawk, Nestopia etc. don't really matter for casual play, save for maybe some edge cases in uncommon games. For casual play, you should use the emulator that works the best for you and has the best features/interface for you.

This movie looks much better now, good job. That said, I'm still not entirely convinced it's optimal - you still seem to slow down in places where you do not have to and take turns and corners wider than you should. I recommend using Frame Advance to make sure your run is 100% optimized. As for entertainment, I'm voting yes now.

[2876] GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow "Julius mode, all bosses" by hellagels, KSeptuple, Pike in 11:52.03 Just putting this here. A number of people already asked me about it. Should note that the same game currently already has another TAS with a star.
As this game already has a starred movie featured on the site, I was considering rotating the star position between this and the "all souls" run. Switch out the star tier between each every two weeks or so. Perhaps it could be automated to lessen the work of the starman.

I liked it. The game looked kinda clunky, and the boss battles dragged on a bit at times, but overwall it was entertaining enough to keep me interested for its duration. Yes vote.

Hello CReTiNO, and welcome to the site. The run looks very interesting, but unfortunately, it is very severely unoptimized. Without really trying too hard, this run saves 164 frames (nearly 3 seconds) in the first screen alone. Why do you hop around all the time? It doesn't seem to be any faster. You also slow down and bump into walls in a lot places where it doesn't seem like you should have to. The boss fights also look like they could be done a lot faster. Voting no, unfortunately. Keep at it though, this game definitely needs a TAS.

As nifty as the site's address set feature is, it feels incomplete and cumbersome to use. I mainly have the following concerns with it: 1.It would be really nice to view address sets without editing them. 2.It would great to be able to preview address sets before saving them. 3.Disable automatic IRC notifications. Instead, have a "minor edit" checkbox as with other wiki pages. I also really disagree with the choice of automatically ordering the addresses numerically, and culling duplicates and separators. It would be far better if the ordering could be chosen by the user, to better represent the game logically. (This would require making an interface closer to the RAM Watch of emulators, and adding the ability to move individual addresses up and down in the table. Being able to edit multiple addresses at once (e.g. deleting them), would also come in very handy for this purpose.)
