Oh sick, Drasle Family! I was briefly looking into TASing the MSX version of this game, before I even knew there was a NES version, but the routing and the dependence on item drops very quickly dissuaded me. I can't even begin to fathom how you route a game like this, let alone find route improvements this significant. Huge props for creating commentary for the run. It was hugely helpful in explaining what was going on. I have to admit the gameplay went by too fast for me to follow, so I first had to watch the TAS by itself, and then watch it again with commentary enabled on 0.75 speed. That way I only occasionally needed to pause. I can't believe the scramble for resources you're always under. That is insane. Also huge props for creating the Atlas Encode. It looks great and helps to give me a spatial understanding of all those really maze-y areas. Yes vote for sure, and fantastic work!

What a strange game. The abstract shapes, color palettes and patterns in the background made it feel really psychedelic. The soundtrack was also quite, let's say, avant garde. I could probably live without it going BRRRRRR every couple of seconds though. That was genuinely quite unpleasant. Anyway, the TAS itself seems neat enough. It's obvious a lot of planning and revision went into the routing, especially considering how it has gone through a second pass. It's sad there's not much more in the way of obviously visible skips and speed strategies, but there's only so much you can do in a game like this. For what it's worth, the gameplay was smooth enough to warrant a Yes Vote. Good work.

Very cool. I had been waiting for a full TAS of F-Zero for a long time, and this certainly didn't disappoint. I hadn't actually seen a full completion of the game before this. Very interesting to see that there's shortcuts in the game. Yes vote for sure.

What was that final boss. Unexpected Journey is right... Anyway, coordinating the characters and routing out the levels seems quite involved, and the TAS is suitably entertaining as a result. Yes vote.

What a mess of a game. It's kinda amazing how many skips in the level design this game allows that aren't even possible in the original. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't somewhat entertaining. Very WTF ending too.

Huh, I don't know the PC original, but this looks like a very colorful and pretty NES game. The game also looks quite smooth, and the TAS is quite entertaining as a result. Yes Vote.

Pretty cool TAS. The game reminds me of Worms in a lot of ways. It's clear the precision is and planning is only achievable with tool-assistance. Yes vote.

Oh god, that old 5 seconds Newgrounds audio loop. Simply epic. I'm so glad Flash still lives and can be TASed now through libtas + ruffle. Also the TAS was pretty good yea.

I'm not familiar with the previous TAS of this game. What I can say is that this run looked quite entertaining. The gameplay looked quite frantic without much of anything stopping you, and the skips were very nice. From what I can tell, the optimization also looked good. Yes vote!

What a strange and quirky game this is. I'm most reminded of Valis, of all things. The momentum mechanics look quite interesting, there seems to be a lot of difference between base movement speed and how far the TAS can go in many places. It just sails through so many levels without anything really stopping it. It's highly entertaining for sure. Yes vote.

It really depends on the situation itself, but I would generally say to just go for what's fastest. The only issue I would see is if taking a death makes you miss out on some really cool strategy or trick that you won't see otherwise in the TAS, but that's rare. Even then, such a time trade-off is rarely justified. If it just skips one level out of many, just go for it.

And then, sadly, season 3 will be the final season, and not even a full season but just three longer special episodes. I can only imagine that it's because it got too gay.
Shame, but I'm hopeful they'll at least conclude the story in a satisfying way. I mean Gravity Falls was short too. I never actually got around to finishing Gravity Falls. I'll need to get back to that. The premise of Amphibia is very similar to Owl House, and there is a lot of overlap. This means Amphibia also inherits a lot from Gravity Falls as well. I'd say that around Season 2, the show develops enough of its own identity to make it stand apart. Like The Owl House, and to a degree Steven Universe before it, most of the first season is basically spent waiting for the plot to arrive before either show really gets going in my opinion. Castlevania is one of those shows that I've been perennially meaning to "get around to eventually". I'll try to make it this year.

This was a pretty cool game I didn't know before. I really like the music. Overall, the TAS was quite entertaining. The level design was overall quite simplistic, but the TAS moved through it with ease, and dealt the mandatory fights efficiently. Some of the more agile boss fights, like the Cave Boss or the Spider Demon stood out. Yes vote.

You might as well throw in DOS in there for the same reason. While it makes sense to unify the PC category, I feel like doing so would the page way too large and throw in very different types of games in the same bucket. You might be able to set an arbitrary cutoff by date, i.e. DOS and earlier (including DOS-based Windows games) would go into their own page, while more modern games get their own page. Just a thought.

Thanks for the encode, xxezrabxxx! Hm, I wonder if the layout of the board can be manipulated, and/or if the optimal cursor movement can be routed. I guess it'd be an instance of TSP? As it stands, it looks like one of those games where achieving optimal inputs is pretty trivial, but maybe I'm overlooking something. Meh vote.

What on earth was that Mettleworks? What a strange mix of elements from Rayman 1, 2 and 3 this game is. The TAS looked quite well optimized, with a bunch of obvious shortcuts and speed tricks, making it overall very entertaining throughout. Very nice work. Yes vote.

Oh dude sick yes nice. I've been wanting to see a TAS of this game since I played it. Were the OOB exploits patched from this version? Really nice work at any rate. Yes vote for sure. Spacegulls TAS when?

This looked pretty nifty. All stages seemed to be dispatched swiftly, and the tool-assistance was apparent. Yes vote.

I would honestly be surprised it this was a significant factor compared to everything else the site has to do. Anyway, meh. I don't really rate movies to begin with because I don't think I'm able to fairly express a complex opinion about a movie with a simple number. While there is clearly the problem of subjectivity for the entertainment rating, the technical rating is not much better. How can I compare two movies against each other and quantify their quality fairly if I know the games differently well? Obviously I'm gonna give a higher rating to the game I know well because I have a better understanding of what had to go into making the TAS, regardless of how much effort or ingenuity actually went into the runs. I also agree that the definition of the technical rating itself is vague and left to the interpretation of the user. Frankly, yeet it. Streamlining the rating system probably makes it easier for everyone.

Hi KidKoopa, and welcome to the site. This is a pretty cool looking game that I didn't know about before. For your first TAS, this looked really good! The action was smooth throughout, and it's kinda staggering how many enemies the game throws your way, just for you to damage boost through everything. Overall, I was quite entertained watching the run. Yes vote. Do keep it up!

Meh. There's so much more interesting SMB romhacks around to TAS. This one looked mostly trivial to execute, other than the 1-4 pipe glitch, which admittedly was very cool. The technical quality of the TAS wasn't half bad, so props on that, but basically anything in this TAS could be seen in other SMB TASes already. Good work anyway, keep it up.
