Nothing is perfect, and competing WIPs always results in a better run, so, just don't stop working and sharing! Maybe both of you could come up with timesavers, maybe both would provide input for the future run, maybe one would stay more as an adviser. The thing that there are veteran TASers means only that they have an idea of what can appear possible and enough patience to test everything many times. If you have more patience and more ideas, nothing prevents you from becoming an expert TASer too. The main tip from me is redoing your own run level by level several times over, to make sure no timesaver is lost. Sometimes you even can find shortcuts in unexpected circumstances! Good luck!

Just watched it. Guys, the run was insane. Are you sure you're not robots? I couldn't do what you did in a million years. It showcases incredible technical prowess. I didn't know it would be THAT different of a run, but wow. And I had a few laughs throughout!
It's funny, but I felt exactly the same when watching YOUR 2p warpless for the first time (having no idea of what TAS is). I couln't resurrect so much WTFness after watching any other TAS since then. This thing has blown up my mind compleely. And it's pleasant to read the same emotions from the author of that work XD

Do you need a map on any certain level? I can make it in the first place, as now I got my script set up and ripping randomly. EDIT: The maps are ready. Want some? Also how about fighting Phalanx-Magneto? It's kinda easter egg and would be nice to see in a TAS. EDIT 2: Just tested. You can unlock Magneto after finishing all but TWO clones, not all but one.

The run is improvable at in the fridge level, where player could use fans acceleration with better precision. Plus, some bosses luck manipulation is far from perfect (low rerecords counter speaks for itself). Since I like the game (and think it deserves 2 categories) I'm voting Meh instead of No. Fisker N, if you put more effort, you should be able to beat current time at least by several seconds.
Он ничего не поймет без перевода :) Но вроде ты уже указал на недочеты в русском треде. Я говорил уже, что надо по несколько раз перепроходить каждый уровень, но парень слишком спешит, некогда нормально тасить. Даже не прочтение всех твоих статей нет времени :D Translation: "He doesn't understand English, but the same was already said in Russian thread. Each level must be reTASed several times. But Fisker N has no time to TAS seriously, he must be too busy with something more interesting :D"

but I think the expected user viewing result with a lot of these flicker patterns was in fact flicker.
To me, at 60fps, "on one, off one" looks like transparency and "on two, off two" looks like flickering. Changing both to "on one, off one" at 30fps is the wrong thing to aim for IMO. If you download the roadrunner clip it has the three side by side (on/off, 60fps, blended). I think the blended looks more like the 60fps, would you disagree?
Yes. If {1 frame off, 1 frame on} at 60 fps looks like transparency to you, your monitor sucks. Get a monitor with a lower response time. The one on the left looks far better to me. The one on the right just looks wrong, as there's no flicker, unlike the original.
I turned my monitor's framerate from 75 to 60 just to see retro games as they must look.

One sees blinking either if it's not 30Hz blinking, or not ~60 Hz monitor (consider that the original TVs weren't exactly 60/50fps, as well as the consoles). The same goes to 25-50Hz.

Each time I see an SM submission I go "WHAT?!" Pity I can't encode anymore due to sound desyncs.

This almost made my cry the tears of happiness! Finally we can get really close to cheating this ugly yutube and displaying on it ALL motion and "transparency" we see on emulators, yay!

mklip2001: * it was faster to kill those bats in level 2, otherwise it lagged and caused damage. * some place is needed to charge the box * if you use both balls at once, then the witch starts shooting electric charges * manipulating the cat is described in the submission text

Elaborate, how do you think it can be improved. I'll translate it for the Author.

This encode was done back when we haven't yet started using hardsubs, we used youtube softsubs instead.

Coul you share all RAM info you have? I'll think of ripping maps for this game (by making the character to fly all over the screen, Gargoyles style).

Well okay then. We just need to document the principle on how to keep the existing scripts, to make them easy to access for others. Let's create a Wiki page at tasvideos about that and about how to handle with SVN managers and hostings (there's no Download function for source files in google). I even think we shall make a tastools page namely, and describe the stricture of the whole project and what each tool or bunch of files is serving for. I think amaurea, FatRatKnight, Randil (if they have not yet) (and me) can be given rights to work with tastools files, and discuss the placement of the scripts here. For example, we can keep all files dedicated to a cirtain game (lua, RAM stuff) in one folder. Also, we need each script to have a description in it, of what game it is made for, how to use it and the authorship.

Zero rerecord count is very strange for SNES.
