Author's comments and explanations:

Mario is Santa Claus

Seriously, if you revert red with white and vice versa, look carefully, Mario looks like Santa Claus.

The Movie

General information

  • FCEU 0.98.18(Well I do remember there was the 0.98.16 release and x.x.17 then it switched back to x.x.16. I don't like that. There's 2 version of 0.98.16. I hope a new release will auto-correct this problem.)
  • Aims for fastest time (As always)
  • Played as Santa Claus errrr Mario.
  • Manipulate this... aims for that..... The same as precedent run. Don't waste my time to repeat the same after xth Mario run . Come on. Be logic. :P
  • Please note that current ROM(image) checksum in the movie file may look like your image may be wrong. Because of some "Shadow image" feature in FCEU which is used as "kinda" equivalent of SRAM for NES ROM cartridges, the checksum in many FDS run may differ than what is in the movie.
  • Overall, it's 9.116666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666 seconds faster than previous run.

Description of this timeattack[1].

Ok I want to tell you that from start to end of 5-1, it is the same as in our[2] previous run. To be quick, I did used a new trick, thanks to Mr_Sweed (aka DMTM), that let you enter an upside-down pipe as if it is a normal penetrable pipe. So before the vine at 5-2, I did this and it saves 8,45 seconds. 7-2 is different and it shows a funny semi-lag bug, also it's 21 frames faster due to great improvement at vine. The other remaining frames gained are at 8-4. Also, at 8-4, I was forced to make Mario to slowdown due to bad randomness that costs 8 frames. I could have done it to look more aesthetic. Anyway, maybe if I have free time to lose, I will redo the last part and replace this movie.
[1] For those who thinks and/or says "Timeattacks is this and that", I am saying, it's a timeattack because it is aimed to beat the last time record which, as far as I know, is my precedent run time.

[2] I am sorry for people that really thought it was the return of Genisto but it's not case. I just wanted to be honest because some parts from 1-1 to 5-2 were done by Genisto.

P.S. Merry Christmas guys, I hope it's a great gift, I couldn't offer better for the moment. Also, I promise I will also improve the Luigi run which I have already started working on. JOYEUX NOËL. (Submitted at 2006/12/25)
