Author's comments and explanations:
Operation C time ...again.

This is a 206 frame (3.43 sec) improvement on my previous run most of which was from the scrolling bug that Aqfaq notified me of.

The bug is the "scrolling bug" for the horizontal levels (levels 1,3,and5) By rapidly moving alternating between up and right (or left) the character feet will become motionless as he moves right. This will cause him to move through solid object and off screen. The effects are the same as the l+r bug in the vertical levels (levels 2 & 4).

Improvements from the previous submission

  • Level 1 - 8 frames
Using the scrolling bug, I went off screen on after the boss fight which got me a little closer to the door. The screen scrolling negates most of the savings however.

  • Level 2 - 6 frames

I completed a few of the tank fights slightly sooner.

  • Level 3 - 16 frames

I managed to shave a few frames of lag off plus I improved both bosses by a few frames.

  • Level 4 - 5 frames

All 5 frames were from lag reduction.

  • Level 5 - 170 frames

This is where the big saving came. I saved about 20 on the first boss fight.

I used the scrolling bug to get closer to the final boss which saved about 150 frames.

  • Aims for fastest time
  • Abuses programming errors in the game

Truncated: Accepted as an improvement to the current version
