Hello guys! Here is a TAS of a SMW ROM Made by me! (Also, no. You can't download that game I TASed as a ROM, you'll need to download it as a IPS and patch it to a clean ROM to play it) IPS download: Link download

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Snes9X v1.51
  • Complete the game as fast as possible
  • Be first in TASing this game
  • Take damage in the first level to save time

Comments

I lost some frames entering the door on the final stage, but meh. I also made usage of the P-Switch reusage glitch in the second level. I did it as fast as possible. In the third stage I saved lots of frames by jumping while I was climbing the vine.

Stage by stage comments

M Island Night

In this stage you start AUTOMATICALLY with a mushroom. Meaning you have a chance of taking damage without dying (unless you take another mushroom). I took damage in that stage to save time

M Island Sun-Rise

In this stage you enter a cave and you find Yoshi. A messge box is displayed. You need to use a P-Switch to pass two areas. I had to sacrifice Yoshi because I couldn't do a P-Switch jump.

M Island day

In this level you need to find a P-Switch to unlock the path that leads to the goal. Tons of frames were saved for jumping before and while climbing the rope.

The Doctor's

This level...well...It isn't actually a real level, but you can talk to a blue Yoshi before entering the door. Not necessary though. I could've save a few frames if I didn't had to press left before entering the first door. Anyway, Mario drinks the medicine...and dies. LOL.

Other comments

You guys would like to see someone TASing this game, right? Well this one is what you were looking for! As I said previously, I could've saved a few frames in the final level If I didn't had to press left before entering the first door. I could've also saved time if I didn't select "Continue and Save" when the save prompt spawned. Man...

Nach: This run begins from a snapshot for no apparent reason which is against our rules. It uses a hack, and therefore that also is being judged. While the hack seems like a cute Mario game for casual gamers, it does not seem to offer much in TASing potential. Hacks need to standout by making very encompassing use of the game engine, and provide a unique experience. As for the run itself, it looks like it can use a lot more work. I don't know this hack well, so my perception may be inaccurate, but with some more effort, it should be possible to cut it down to under three minutes. Reception has also been very poor. Rejecting.
