The Battle of Olympus is Zelda II in ancient Greece.

My motivation to play this game again was to get it under the 10-minute mark. At 10:01.43, I needed to save 87 frames.

This TAS improves the current Battle of Olympus movie by 364 frames (6.06 seconds). I was surprised that I saved that much time.

Screen Frames saved Total frames saved Comments
Character Names 0 0 I named Helene '9' this time, representing the goal of getting the time down to 9:XX.XX.
Arcadia Bull (2) 7 7 A big flaw in the previous movie was that I wasn't aware of the jump-turn technique until after Laconia. If you press A+B simultaneously, your speed immediately goes to 000.
Arcadia 5 (2) 7 14 Jump turn.
Pelo 2 8 22 Better enemy RNG.
Pelo Bush 7 29 Jump turn.
Pelo 4 7 36 Jump turn.
Pelo Hydra 7 43 Jump turn.
Pelo 1 (2) 2 45 Better enemy RNG.
Pelo 2 (2) 214 259 This is the first half of olive collecting. The comparison is not quite direct because I picked up 28 olives instead of 29. But this screen was the biggest improvement by far.
Pelo Orange 11 270 Changed entry direction (left to right).
Pelo Orange (2) 5 275 Better enemy RNG.
Pelo 5 -1 274 This is the second half of olive collecting. Although it is 1 frame slower, I picked up 32 olives instead of 31, and so it is actually faster.
Pelo Cyclops 16 290 Lost 2 frames manipulating the bat. But I improved the Cyclops fight by 18 frames by maintaining maximum speed.
Laconia 1 -1 289 A monkey got in the way.
Laconia 2 -1 288 Unavoidable lag frame.
Laconia Dark (2) 7 295 Jump turn.
Laconia 3 (2) 7 302 Jump turn.
Laconia 1 (2) -2 300 A scorpion spawned in the worst possible place.
Laconia 2 (2) -2 298 Lag frames because of enemy spawns.
Laconia 4 -1 297 Manipulating the next screen.
Laconia Siren 12 309 I got 2 hits on the Siren in the first wave.
Laconia Graeae 25 334 I think I messed up the last spawn in the previous movie.
Phthia 1 22 356 The enemies on the stairs lined up in a way that I could avoid taking damage. However, I still need to take damage later because I need Orpheus to die.
Phthia 2 Centaur -11 345 I took the damage here, where I would lose fewer frames.
Phthia 3 9 354 I was able to get the game to change my entry direction (left to right).
Laconia Siren (2) 1 355 Removed lag frame.
Crete 4 -5 350 Setting up an entry direction change.
Crete 5 11 361 Changed entry direction (right to left). I don't know why I overlooked this idea last time.
Crete 6 1 362 Simply a blunder in the previous movie.
Tartarus 6 3 365 Adjusted jump.
Tartarus 7 -1 364 Because of the position of an eagle, I had to delay my jump by a frame.

Mothrayas: Judging.

Mothrayas: Good job and congratulations on beating the 10-minute mark. Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.

fsvgm777: Processing.
