This is the NES version of the first game in the popular Prince of Persia series. The hero must escape out of the palace dungeons in order to defeat Jaffar and save the princess from certain death.

Challenger saved 10.13 seconds over the previous run via better movement, some faster fights, and a trick that allows the hero to start moving more quickly after obtaining the sword. The detailed list of improvements is in the submission notes.

We also have runs of the SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, and TurboGrafx-CD ports, as well as a run that just completes the SNES training levels.

This movie makes the "Prince of Persia" look like a gymnastic winner.

Here Gavin Ward beats the previous movie by 2:38, mostly due to optimized movements.

Selected comments from author:
Took one point of damage at the end of level 9 by jumping straight down to the exit instead of slowly climbing down.

Ps: Were Persian architects really this crazy? ;)

This is the NES version of the first game on the very popular series Prince of Persia. I think the PC version can be done a bit faster and smoothly.

For information about the differences between the versions of this game, refer to this thread at the nesvideos forum.

Tackling the crazy architecture of ancient Persia in record time, Gavin Ward improves his previous movie by just a few seconds.

This movie makes the "Prince of Persia" look like a gymnastic winner.
