Not only was Castlevania - Symphony of the Night the first installment of the Castlevania series on PSX but also the very first PSX TAS to be published. Follow Dracula's son Alucard and see how he glitches through the castle on a quest to end his father's life.

Arukado uses major route changes to improve the old movie by 1 minute and 18 seconds.

A 100% run covering the whole castle is also available here.
If you prefer the main character to have muscular bare arms, and to pray to the rain gods to defeat bosses, you may enjoy the Richter version.

The other installments of Castlevania on the GBA have extreme warping glitches, and this game is no exception. Using enemy platforms and selected soul abilities to disregard the boundaries of the game, pirate_sephiroth manages to cut off nearly half the time from the normal route. Moreover, the author proves glitch warping to be so effective that the usual teleporters are left completely ignored, and several parts of the castle have been skipped entirely.

You may notice some tiny slowdowns before getting a certain item or soul: those are done for the means of luck manipulation, which is very tough in this game. You may want to read the author's comments for more details.

Note: this run is played on hard mode where the previous movie by Atma left off. We do not usually accept movies beginning from a save. Please read our rules to see our reasons.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the first installment of the Castlevania series on PSX, and was the very first PSX TAS to be published.

Follow the quest of Richter (playable after you beat the game once) and see how he glitches and speeds through the castle. If you like fast sliding, dashing, uppercutting, and using precipitation to defeat bosses, you'll love this run.

In order to see a "full" run of the game, see the Alucard version.

This is a really, really fast TAS through Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance played with Maxim who is only available after the game is beaten once. Most of the game is glitched through by being stuck in different walls, so it's hard to explain what happened in this, see it for yourself.

Note: this movie starts where the previous movie left off. We do not usually accept movies beginning from a save. Please read our rules to see our reasons.

In Rockin' Kats, Willy the Kat's girl Jill is kidnapped no less than five times by the local crime boss, and, armed with little more than a 'punch-gun', he sets out to rescue her.

This run was the winning submission to TASVideos' Dream Team Contest 4, and improves the old run by just over five minutes.

There is also a run of this game that completes the hidden Channel X.

Castlevania: Dracula X (1995), released in Japan as Akumajō Dracula XX, is actually a toned-down remake of a PC Engine title known as Rondo of Blood (1993). It stars Richter Belmont, supposedly a son of Juste Belmont from Harmony of Dissonance, on a mission to save Annette (said to be his girlfriend) and Maria Renard (a young vampire huntress said to be his girlfriend's sister), along with a number of their fellow villagers, from imprisonment by Dracula (said to be the villain) and his minions.

Unfortunately, in this SNES port Richter isn't too much of a fast walker - unlike his father and the later Belmont clan descendants - so his fastest way of moving is constant backflipping (so don't get surprised with the author's choice of traveling method).

This movie is a 165 second improvement to the previous version by Dan and Nightcom; such a large gain is achieved thanks to greatly increased precision and other new tricks explained in the author's comments.

Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
