Ever wonder if Mario was actually a ninja wearing blue overalls? Now you know.

This run completes the game after collecting a mere 16 stars. It was originally intended that the player collect a minimum of 70 to finish, but a few bugs allow Mario to pass through doors and barriers that require a minimum number of stars to open.

Mario has a very wide range of skills for mobility and some of the physics of this game are easily abused by an experienced player.

Ever since Morimoto published his legendary movie in mid-2003, the players at TASVideos have repeatedly made it faster and faster!

This 96 frame improvement over the previous movie features a completely new route through Bowser's Palace, even more off-screen auto-scroller action and other technical improvements detailed in the authors' comments. Finally, Lord Tom and Mitjitsu are proud to announce that the new run once again acquires 99+ lives magnificently.

At first there were 70 stars because Bowser demanded it. Then there were 16 stars because MIPS the rabbit demanded it. Then there was 1 star because Bowser's Sub demanded it. Now there are none because the viewers are impatient and demanded the game be quicker.

As with many other runs on this site, the goal of pure speed has resulted in the complete breaking of the game. Very little of the game's normal play remains. If you'd like to see more of what Super Mario 64 offers, see the 120 stars run.

Super Mario 64 has a history of publications on this site. If you wish to see how it unfolded since the beginning, see the page SM64TASHistory. Also, if you have a hankering to see MIPs the rabbit, the 16 stars route has been improved.

It was originally intended that the player collect a minimum of 70 to finish, but a few bugs allow Mario to pass through doors and barriers that require a minimum number of stars to open. Creating the fastest Super Mario 64 run was previously believed to require 16 stars, but this run manages to glitch through the Dire Dire Docks door without using MIPS the rabbit.

Twinkle Tale was released exclusively in Japan by an obscure publisher. The author describes it as "what you get when you combine top down Contra stages with Kingdom Hearts." It tells the tale of Saria the magician who must stop the Demon King with what sometimes appear to be weapons from Gradius.

This movie carefully exploits the game's mechanics to breeze through the levels and boss fights. You can read a full translation and get other information at its submission discussion

Quackshot is an Indiana-Jones-inspired game that finds Donald Duck liberally belly-sliding and plunger-shooting his way to an ancient treasure. It is one of the few non-Capcom Disney games.

This video is a minute improvement that abuses known glitches more and shows some new ones as well.

Rating: 6.5 (25 votes)

- Contains speed/entertainment tradeoffs
- 2 Players
- Uses death to save time
- Uses hardest difficulty
- Genre: Fighting
A typical streetfighting game which spawned the popular Streets of Rage trilogy. This game is rumored to have used the same engine as Golden Axe, which is why the A button summons magic (sort of) to damage all enemies on screen, instead of doing some sort of roundhouse, like almost all other beat'em ups.

Completed on the hardest difficulty.

Compared to the previous movie, this is over 10 minutes faster. Primarily due to the use of 2-players and a glitch that skips most of the last level.

Details can be found in the authors' comments.

Duke Nukem 64 (1997) is a classic PC shooter ported to Nintendo 64 — unfortunately, in a heavily censored state, and without much concern for the game's performance.

As such, the movie is played on the easiest level in an attempt to reduce the framerate drop issues arising from big amounts of enemies shooting at Duke. However, the sheer speed the player is blasting through levels will likely confuse you regardless — we recommend reading the author's comments to understand all the tricks he used.

An extremely short game based on the Karate Kid movie. The author explains that some movements might not seem optimal, which is because the player has to avoid both entering bonus stages hidden everywhere around the levels and kicking bosses offscreen. If a boss goes offscreen, it regains all of its health, which of course isn't a good thing.

Had the kid been this strong in the movie, it would certainly have been… interesting.

This movie is a about a 3 second improvement over the previous run.

This run played on a real NES
