As with many other runs on this site, the goal of pure speed has resulted in the complete breaking of the game. Very little of the game's normal play remains. This movie is an 8 second improvement to the previous movie due to a "series of improvements" discovered by the author, detailed in the submission message. | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is an updated version of an older GB game to add colour graphics, an additional dungeon, various other minor features, and a lot of bug fixes. Link, after rescuing Hyrule (again?), sets off on a journey and subsequently shipwrecks on the mysterious Koholint Island, which has been overtaken by evil monsters which he must defeat in order to find a way back home. Through a wide variety of glitches and general optimisations, this is now almost ten minutes faster than the previous full run of this game. This run does not make use of a form of warp glitching, but still demonstrates that they obviously didn't fix as many bugs as they thought.

| The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is a Game Boy Color game that carries over much of the graphics from Link's Awakening. Surprisingly, much of the game engine is completely different and developed by Capcom. In it, the Oracle of Seasons, Din, is kidnapped by Onox, General of Darkness. Link must travel throughout both Holdrum and Subrosia to collect the 8 Essences of Nature, power up the Rod of Seasons, and defeat Onox. This game has been attempted by various authors over the past 5 years. Finally, SwordlessLink, along with Tompa, who joined the project after dungeon 4, beat this legendary game in 1:25:57.21 primarily through the use of pitwalking, Pegasus Seeds, and enemy manipulation. Please see the authors' notes for more details. | ||

| In this TAS of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the author aims to beat the game as quickly as possible while completing all dungeons, temples, and Ganon Trials. This goal is commonly referred to as "all temples", "all dungeons", or "MST (Medallions/Stones/Trials)". This run has roughly 35 minutes of improvements in gameplay over the previous TAS of its kind. This movie contains several new glitches and sequence breaks which allow for a much faster completion than were possible when the last run was made. Several large glitches in the game are not used in the run, such as those which allow the player to manipulate memory addresses to obtain items without physically picking them up. These are avoided because it would make the completion of any dungeon completely arbitrary, and they can be seen in the any% run. Unlike the previous movie of this category, this TAS is played on the Japanese version of the game. The reason for this is that the text is significantly faster than in the English version, which means that far less time (roughly 12 minutes) is spent waiting for text boxes and cut scenes to end before getting back to the action. English subtitles were added to the encode for people interested in what was said. The author's notes explain in great detail many of the things done in this TAS which may be confusing to those who aren't familiar with Ocarina of Time speedrunning. Reading them is strongly advised. Note: There are encodes of higher resolutions in the discussion thread. | ||

This movie has been obsoleted!Click here to see the new movie.Ever wonder if Mario was actually a ninja wearing blue overalls? Now you know. This run completes the game after collecting a mere 16 stars. It was originally intended that the player collect a minimum of 70 to finish, but a few bugs allow Mario to pass through doors and barriers that require a minimum number of stars to open. This is also used when unlocking a door would take longer than setting up and executing the bug. Mario has a very wide range of skills for mobility and some of the physics of this game are easily abused by an experienced player. This version of Super Mario 64 changes the route of the previous runs.

This movie has been obsoleted!Click here to see the new movie. The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening is a classic Game Boy Zelda adventure. Link must travel across the dream world of Koholint Island, collecting the 8 Instruments to wake the Wind Fish and go home after a terrible shipwreck. Swordless Link (the author), however, decided collecting instruments for a one-man band was a waste of time, so he skipped all of that and went straight to the Wind Fish (with a pesky boss battle in the middle). The author improved the run by 11.22 seconds, which was mostly achieved by using a new route. If you liked this, be sure to also check out the Game Boy Color version (DX), which completes all the dungeons.

| Wildwaters (also known as "Extreme Kayak" and "X-Stream") is a cancelled racing game that was in development by Looking Glass Studios for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 / 1999. The project was announced at E3 1999 by Ubisoft (that was interested as a publisher) while the studio was working on Destruction Derby 64 (published in the same year), but sadly it was never finished. In this run, the author manages to complete the first level (the only playable one) by using the fastest character and abusing of rocks, walls, everything on his way! | ||

| Even the worst video games ever made can make up for a good TAS.
This movie plays through game #52, known as "The Cheetahmen", of a compilation of horrid games called Action 52, in a fast-paced way. While this game is pretty horrible in general, it has a rather catchy BGM.
Important note about movie syncing: The version labeled as (Rev A) has to be used in order to get the movie to sync. However, before playing back the movie, make sure that you select "Ooze".
