Everyone’s favourite gymnastics winner is back in this remake of the classic console game. This time the Prince of Persia accidentally unleashes the Sands of Time, turning everyone except him, an evil Vizier and a mysterious girl named Farah into zombies. The Sands also gave the Prince a few new unexpected powers, like the ability to walk through walls and repeatedly jump underneath platforms.

Everyone's favourite gymnastic winner is back, and this time, he's sparing no expense to make sure the evil Vizier's reign of sand-based terror is stopped once and for all. Watch as our hero slaughters the Vizier's entire army, robs him of his precious metal, confiscates his valuable medical resources and steals all his ancient scrolls without even stamping his library card.

In this run, theenglishman achieves a self-defined full completion, which is everything you can acquire or do in the game without the use of a Nintendo GameCube/Game Boy Advance link cable. In the case of this game, it boils down to:

  • Kill all 75 Sand Persians, which makes the Prince reach max stats (Level 30, 150 HP, 115 Attack, 90 Defence)
  • Acquire all available consumables (9 Life Potions, 9 Sands of Time, 5 Antidotes - consumables can be used at any time)
  • Collect Slowdown Ring and Freeze Ring
  • Collect all tutorial Scrolls
  • Reassemble all Medals and lower all the Medal Gates
  • Press the three GameCube switches
See the author's comments for more thorough explanation.

- Heavy luck manipulation
- Genre: Puzzle
Snood is a puzzle game that blatantly rips off inspired by Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble with very similar gameplay. Originally released for the PC as freeware, it has since been licensed and ported to several platforms.

This movie by theenglishman plays the Time Attack mode so quickly that you might not be able to tell what's going on.

Metal Gear Solid was one of the original breakthrough titles in the stealth gaming genre. It follows Solid Snake, a soldier who is infiltrating a nuclear weapons facility on a remote Alaskan island codenamed Shadow Moses Island. Snake must rescue two hostages from the terrorist organization FOXHOUND and stop them from launching a nuclear strike on the United States.

In this run, theenglishman abuses walk-through-walls and weapon glitches to save over 26 minutes from his previous run. Reading the submission comments is recommended.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the original breakthrough titles in the stealth gaming genre. Nobody told the author this however, as he steamrolls through Shadow Moses Island in record time with guns blazing. This run is played on the hardest difficulty and earns the "Big Boss" rank on completion.

Metal Gear Solid was one of the original breakthrough titles in the stealth gaming genre. It follows Solid Snake, a soldier who is infiltrating a nuclear weapons facility on a remote Alaskan island in the Fox Archipelago, codenamed Shadow Moses. Snake must rescue two hostages from FOX-HOUND, a high-tech special forces unit gone rogue, and then stop FOX-HOUND from launching a nuclear warhead.

Changes from the original release of Metal Gear Solid include

  • Addition of first-person view.
  • A level of difficulty for newcomers.
  • Improved artificial intelligence for some enemies (including bosses) on higher difficulty settings.
  • An "Alternate Round" for each difficulty, with different enemy placements.
  • 300 VR Training missions on a separate disc.

Integral was planned for use in this branch from the start, because of a lengthy Liquid Snake monologue you can skip in Integral but not in the original version, as well as the added precision of analog controls; however, old PSX emulators could not play Intergral. With the switch to the higher-accuracy PSXHawk, theenglishman was able to TAS this version, playing on Extreme difficulty in the Normal Round, achieving the rank of "BIG BOSS" for his performance.

The raw improvement over the predecessor movie is 2:49.99, but the improvement in gameplay is actually much more than that; the raw time is inflated slightly compared to the predecessor movie because of the switch to PSXHawk, which results in slightly longer (but more accurate) loading times, on everything from transitions between rooms, to playing cutscenes, to playing CODEC conversations.

Author's detailed commentary in the form of subtitles are available in the movie file and in all encodes.

In this run, theenglishman's goal is to beat all the bosses in the game; this results in the run actually playing far more of Disc 1 than our currently published any% run, which skips literally every boss on that disc. Don't go thinking this is a low-glitch run, though!

The downloadable encodes feature vocal commentary by the author and magnum66. It is also available on YouTube.

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (Special Missions in Europe) is a series of 300 action-packed extra missions for Metal Gear Solid with enough scintillating Snake-sneaking setpieces to last a lifetime. Originally a part of Integral, the 1999 Japanese re-release of the original game, the VR Missions received a standalone release a year later in North America and Europe as an extra bonus to satisfy fans hungry for more tactical espionage action.

In the Metal Gear universe, VR serves as a substitute for combat experience, allowing trainees to learn how to use weapons and participate in advanced combat scenarios without having to actually be on the battlefield, similar to the training programs in The Matrix. This concept of artificial or digital training serving as a poor man’s replacement for combat experience (particularly where child soldiers are concerned) has been a running theme in the series.

The missions featured in this game include extended tutorials, obstacle courses, challenge maps, setpieces, and some unusual but interesting scenarios such as solving a murder mystery, knocking down guards like dominoes and destroying a UFO. As a reward for completing all the missions, you get a sneak peak at some concept art of Metal Gear RAY from the then-upcoming Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

In this run, watch as theenglishman sneaks, shoots, punches and investigates his way past the world leaderboards for each mission using clever new strategies and precise tricks. For much more information on this movie, check out the submission text.

theenglishman made an alternative encode that fast-forwards through practice missions.
