| In accordance with standard procedure, Samus discarded all of the items she collected on previous adventures before embarking on this one. This run aims for 100% item collection in the fastest time, and it does so 2 minutes and 34 seconds faster than the previous movie by JXQ, thanks to various new tricks, route changes, and general optimization. The in-game completion time is 36 minutes and 3 seconds. Super Metroid has a wide variety of time-saving glitches to exploit, many of which are explained on the Super Metroid Tricks page. Be sure to check it, as well as the author's comments, for more information on the improvements. If you prefer to watch the fastest completion without getting all the items, check out Super Metroid in 38:41 by Taco & Kriole. | ||

| Samus's first adventure is retold in Metroid: Zero Mission with extra storyline, extra items and on a system with a better graphics processor. This run completes the game with 100% item collection. At least as far as the end-of-game display is concerned. This is an improvement of 35.70 seconds, over Dragonfangs's previous movie. The improvements come mainly from greater optimization in movement and better ammo management. Unlike the previous author, Cpadolf aimed for lowest real time, finishing the game in 42:07 on the in-game timer. | ||

| This movie features a perfect example of what can occur when TASers will go to any extreme to sequence break a long game. Very little that is recognizable remains. Cpadolf forgoes key items, yet bothers to collect the X-Ray scope, an item normally useless to an experienced Super Metroid player.
With the use of X-Ray Scope to get out of the rooms' bounds, some non-trivial physics abuse, and esoteric RAM data manipulation via dying in a certain room, the amount of tasks Samus usually has to do on Zebes has been cut to almost nothing. No boss is ever fought in this TAS, and even Mother Brain is skipped completely. The in-game completion time is 00:12. Only 6% of the items are collected.
This is an improvement of 25.61 seconds real-time, or 22.98 seconds in-game, over the previous glitched any% run. The main improvement comes from a new method of skipping the cutscene with the big metroid, although the author found many other improvements along the way.
The peculiar effects of the Space/Time Beam, if properly utilized, can cut this run's time further in half. The movie will have to begin from a savestate, but Samus will start the game fully powered-up, so item collection and all detours associated with it are no longer required. Such a movie, also made by Cpadolf, can be found here; its completion time is 12:46 (00:06 by the in-game timer). | Another movie that's so fast you can hardly see what's going on. The main character can use his rocket dash to inflict a lot of damage on his opponents as well as bounce off walls and ceilings. Cpadolf's movie is an incredible improvement to nitsuja's movie, which was itself 5 minute improvement to previously published version. Cutting off 80 seconds from that TAS was certainly no easy task. Like the previous movie, this is played at the hardest difficulty, crazy hard.
![]() | GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (USA) "Julius version" in 04:38.9 by Cpadolf.

| Those who greatly dislike that Aria of Sorrow's main character isn't related to the Belmont clan whatsoever can safely relax, because the powerhouse known as Julius Belmont enters the stage in the relatively short run of this Castlevania installment.
Julius is only available to those who have completed the main quest, but unlike Soma Cruz, Belmont can't go through walls or use other fancy tricks like that. Being very upset about it, he hops around the castle madly, producing almost inhuman sounds with every jump.
This is an improvement of almost 13 seconds, mostly due to better boss fights.
Note: this movie starts where a main quest TAS left off. We do not usually accept movies beginning from a save. Please read our rules to see our reasons.

| Metroid Super ZeroMission is a Super Metroid hack that is heavily based on the GBA game Metroid: Zero Mission, inspiring modifications of the game engine, graphics, and maps. In this run, the author, cpadolf, improves on Hoandjzj's canceled run by over 4 minutes by using a new route and many new tricks and glitches. For more details, as always, please read the author's notes. If you're looking to watch a run that clears everything about this game, you can watch this run. | ||

| This game has many qualities that make it a good candidate for TASing. These include nice and soft graphics, music that's not painful to listen to and, of course, a very speedy main character. The game is not meant to be quite as straightforward as it would seem by watching this movie, as the author takes many shortcuts that require extremely precise jumping. A downside to this game is that the bosses sometimes have long invulnerability periods, meaning that Zero has to wait a bit in-between hits and cannot spam the bosses with 20 hits per second. This is an improvement of well over one and a half minutes due to better optimizations, new shortcuts and tricks | ||

| Vectorman (1995) is one of the later games for Genesis; it sports multiple gameplay modes, pre-rendered 3D models and some very nice visual effects. According to its plot, the Earth's population decided they have polluted it enough, and migrated elsewhere, leaving robots made of orbs ("orbots") behind to clean up the mess. One of the higher level orbots gets his head accidentally attached to a nuclear warhead, goes insane and usurps total control over all mechanical beings left on the planet. This is the state the main hero, orbot Vectorman, finds it in after returning from one of his garbage discharging missions. This is an improvement of 36 seconds over the previous movie. | ||

| As you might know, Konami realised they went a little overboard with the difficulty of the arcade version of Gradius III, so the SNES port got noticeably easier (and laggier). However, it still remains one of the hardest and most unforgiving shoot 'em ups released in its era. This is Cpadolf's take at the shmupping carnage, resulting in a significant improvement in both speed and style over the previous movie by Krocketneo. In total, 2 minutes 53 seconds are saved thanks to lag reduction and faster boss fights. The author also kills a greater percentage of enemies (still not fully 100%, though — read the comments for more details). The game is completed in Arcade mode (still a far cry from the actual arcade game), which is accessed by tapping A on the main menu screen. It is strongly recommended to read the congratulatory text appearing after the end credits. ;) | ||

| One of the best (and best known) shooters of the 16-bit era, Contra 3 forgoes any semblence of plot devices in favor of good old fashioned shooting and platforming with some tough as nails bosses, especially in this, the hardest mode. Apparently not happy with an already amazing movie, Cpadolf felt the need to go on yet another black op, optimizing his distortions of space and time on the way to a 173 frame improvement. This movie uses a 'warping' glitch to complete the game. There is also the 2-player version which does not. | ||

Contra 4 (2007) is largely a combined remake of the early NES and SNES Contra titles, featuring remixed music and vastly improved visuals utilizing both screens of the DS as if they were one contiguous screen.
Watch Bill Rizer embark on a new colorful adventure in the shirtless land, this time making even less sense than ever before. To quote the game's ending: Whatever the truth may have been, it was lost to time as the invaders became a mere footnote in the pages of history. A footnote which read: they sure blew up good.Amen.
![]() | SNES The Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (USA) in 13:11.05 by Cpadolf.

| Pugsley's scavenger hunt is an extremely fast paced game, which makes it difficult. It is made even more difficult by playing on the hardest setting, which gives Pugsley only one single heart, meaning that he dies in one hit. The movie itself looks very impressive and it really gives the impression that the player knows what he is doing. This is an improvement of 47.58 seconds over the previous movie. | ||

| This is a raptor movie of the Genesis version of Jurassic Park, which is completely different from the SNES version. In this game, you can choose between Grant and the raptor, each with his own set of levels. Grant's levels are like Prince of Persia except with dinosaurs and better weapons. The raptor's levels go by much faster. The collision detection is quite buggy, and the author takes advantage of this. This is a 12.34 second improvement on the previous movie, almost all of the improvement coming from better optimization. | ||
