- Heavy luck manipulation
- Genre: Strategy
Hikaru no Go was published serially in "Weekly Shonen Jump" for "NARUTO" and the same period. And the animated cartoon was produced as well as "NARUTO" by "Studio Pierrot". When the comic was serialized, "the game of Go" became a boom among children in Japan.

This movie is highly recommended for those who know the Go game, because it does play around with AI, making it do the most absurd moves possible, which still serves the main goal - speed.

Kirby is a little round thing, and like Sonic, makes for an excellent pinball. Kirby must navigate through three boards to defeat his usual foes by knocking into them repeatedly, with the help of traditional pinball flippers.

This movie skips most of the normal pinball aspects of the game and goes right to the bosses. Clever luck manipulation is used to position them perfectly for optimal damage from Kirby.

This is the JPN version of EarthBound Zero (also known as Mother (マザー) ). As the first version of the game, it has a number of useful glitches; this run abuses the way the game handles the "Bread crumbs" item to warp off the edge of reality and casually walk straight into the final boss's lair.

We also have a more normal run of the localized version, which doesn't include this glitch.

Final Fantasy II is the original Japanese sequel to Final Fantasy. It is not to be confused with Final Fantasy IV for the SNES, which was renamed "Final Fantasy II" in North America.

The game introduces chocobos and an activity-based progression system, in which the characters' statistics increase depending on how they are used or acquired.

This movie by pirohiko demonstrates multiple major glitches that allow the game to be completed in an impressively short time. For more details, we recommend reading the author's comments.

Crash Bandicoot is the first game in a seminal series for the PlayStation.

Utilizing zigzag movement and other new tricks, pirohiko improves the previous movie by a staggering 9:09.64, leaving Neo Cortex wondering just what kind of flying bandicoot on a double espresso he set on the loose. For details on the new tricks, differences between the USA and JPN versions, and the strategies used, reading the author's comments is recommended.

A second YouTube stream is available with an informative overlay that the author used while creating the run. The latter pair of encodes and torrents provides high quality 480p encodes improved for 3D.

This is the second in a series of seminal platformers for the PlayStation, with very similar gameplay to its predecessor.

A normal run of this game takes a rather long time to complete. However, by using a bug that corrupts the memory when jumping on top of an unbreakable box, the author gathers the crystals necessary to advance to the next set of stages unbelievably quickly, leaving only the bosses to make quick work of.

Note for viewers: In order to be sync-stable, a sound plugin with less than perfect sound quality needed to be used, so do not be alarmed if the sound is not flawless. However, using a different plugin was possible for the introduction and the ending.

Tobal 2 is a 3D fighting game developed by Dream Factory and released by Square in Japan in 1997. Unlike its predecessor, Tobal No. 1, this game was not released in North America or PAL regions. There are four modes in the game: Tournament, VS, Training, and Quest.

In Quest mode, dungeons as well as a whole town are freely explorable. It also features role-playing elements and the ability to capture encountered monsters and use them as playable characters in VS Mode. This brings the amount of playable characters in this game to as high as 200.

In this run, pirohiko uses movement glitches and speedy fighting tactics to beat Quest Mode surprisingly fast.

EarthBound is a great RPG, designed by Shigesato Itoi in 1994-1995, and is also known by the name Mother 2.

It is best described as "random", in a good way. The game has a great emphasis on a humor, and indeed many things in the game are almost caricatured, from subplots to characters. It also has a versatile soundtrack.

Our description for the previous movie stated, "Although this being a speedrun (tool-assisted at that), most of the plot of the game is intact...". This time around, not so much. Thanks to some collision detection bugs, including one that shows that the Skip Sandwich is a fitting name for the item in ways the developers never intended, the author is able to move around the game's areas freely, completing the bare minimum number of tasks needed to keep the final battle from locking up.

Also unlike the previous movie, this one does use a death as a shortcut. However, the teddy bear survives this time around.

Final Fantasy IV, renamed to Final Fantasy II in North America, was a role-playing game that revolutionized the genre. It was the first Final Fantasy title to introduce the Active Time Battle system and one of the first RPGs to feature a complex, involving plot.

Final Fantasy V is probably the least known of the Final Fantasy series on the SNES, because it was never published in the USA (PS1 port and GBA remake aside).

Through save corruption, game-breaking glitches and heavy glitch abuse eventually leading to arbitrary code execution, pirohiko ends the game in less than 11 minutes. Please read the author's comments for more details.

Puyo Puyo is an extremely popular puzzle game in Japan similar to Tetris in some ways. By making a chain of 4 or more Puyo's, they explode and deliver garbage onto the opponent's screen. This run produces combos strong enough to completely overwhelm the competition every time.

This game style has been released under other names such as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche, but the core gameplay is the same.

Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom is an RPG from the well-known Wizardry series of games. Normally, these games are very long. However, in keeping with the TASVideos tradition of making long RPG runs short, this run reaches the ending in half a minute through extensive glitching of the save data. Mario has returned to the Mushroom Kingdom from a trip, only to find that Bowser has started a construction campaign of building new hideouts. The construction projects are depriving the kingdom's plants of sunlight and thus, Mario decides to demolish the projects with his hammer. Along the way, he meets his old enemies from the original Wrecking Crew, including former rival Foreman Spike.

This Japan-only sequel to the original game takes a more competitive approach, giving two opponents their own sides to demolish as many panels as they can. Once one of the sides is completely filled up, the other player wins.

In this run, pirohiko takes advantage of a shortcut that humorously ends a level instantly if three lines of at least three panels of the same color overlap.

Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
