Alien Hominid is a 2D side-scrolling shooter with heavy references to the Metal Slug series of games - from the hand-drawn graphics, huge explosions, right down to the ability to eviscerate FBI Agents when you get up close to them. The graphics are by featured artist Dan Paladin. Your goal, is quite simply, to get to the end of the stage, and die as little as possible. Which is made difficult due to the fact that any bullet is an instant kill.

You control some sort of yellow alien with a gun. For whatever reason, he also has very Earth-like grenades with Earth-like explosions. He collides with some sort of satellite around Earth and crash-lands right in front of the FBI, who then runs off with his spacecraft and somehow forgets that bright yellow alien thing in clear sight. If you're looking for story, this isn't the game, as it just gives an excuse why you're doing these things.

This TAS improves the one provided by the winner team at Dream Team Contest 3 by 41.03 seconds.

This movie has a lua script that contains the Author's chatty commentary, and the encode of it can be seen on YouTube here.

- Heavy glitch abuse
- Genre: RPG
After hearing about how the dark overlord Darces has returned, our hero goes on a quest to unite all five one elements in order to defeat Darces and save the kingdom.

In this storybook-view RPG, the author zooms around the game world, entering the most dangerous of dungeons, killing two powerful monsters, and collecting the bare minimum needed to beat the game in incredible fashion. Despite the player being unable to survive one hit, the author subverts certain death with the handy pause system. Despite the player supposedly being unable to damage the monsters, an underflow glitch allows for massive damage. Despite the final boss standing right there to kill him, the viewer sees all of 3 frames of the dark overlord. It's an RPG done in just over one minute, without warping or save glitching.

The author had spent much effort in understanding the game, and all that work has finally paid off. We recommend reading the author's comments.

Gauntlet is a Dungeons & Dragons simulator of sorts. You choose a class of Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard or Elf to navigate the Gauntlet, collect treasure, slay wicked monsters, and save your beloved peasant hometown.

Walkthroughs for this game estimate a completion time of several hours when playing normally. Here, we see the game completed in only 12 minutes! Usually clues have to be collected to discover the password to the last dungeon, but this is selected at the game's beginning, so the clues are unnecessary in a TAS. There is also some collision detection abuse and lots of luck manipulation.

This version takes a better path, manipulates fights more, and abuses luck to get the password with shortest input time.

Magician is an adventure game featuring a hero simply named 'Paul'. Paul is a mage with a bottomless stomach, constantly a scratch away from starvation and death.

FatRatKnight gets around his insane hunger pains and cruises his way to the best ending possible with only one playthrough of the game primarily thanks to the UNKNOWN spell. Normally this has a high chance of killing Paul in some of the most gruesome or comical ways possible, but instead it is manipulated to heal him.

Meet Paul -- A guy who starves to death five minutes after a grand meal. He also feels experienced from doing trivial things like entering a store or delivering mail.

While many heroes would depend on hours of fighting for experience, Paul instead gets his experience from those trivial things in order to defeat Abadon in a timely manner. Best ending requires all such trivial tasks done, ensuring you see Paul gaining experience from delivering a letter or talking to a tree.

Along the way, there are vicious enemies who beat up Paul. Being in a hurry, Paul doesn't stop for them, preferring to use the UNKNOWN spell to patch himself up. Normally this has a high chance of killing Paul in some of the most gruesome or comical ways possible, but instead it is manipulated to heal him.

This beats the authors previous run by a little over 38 seconds, primarily due to a new route.

R.C. Pro-Am is a racing video game developed by Rare. It was released for the NES by Nintendo for North America in March 1988, and then in Europe on April 15 of the same year. Presented in an overhead isometric perspective, a single player races a radio-controlled car around a series of tracks. The objective of each track is to qualify for the next race by placing in the top three racers. Players collect items to improve performance, and they must avoid a variety of hazards such as rain puddles and oil slicks. It is an example of a racing game which features vehicular combat, in which racers can use missiles and bombs to temporarily disable opposing vehicles.

In this run, FatRatKnight gets the 1st place, as well as the deserved gold trophy, on each of the 48 tracks he completes.

Rad is a slang term, short for radical. This movie shows what radical sports is when applied to car driving on NES.

Curiously, the game Rad Racer was made by Square, which is probably best known for its Final Fantasy game series. Quite a different game, this here...

If you decide to play this game, we recommend the Power Glove. It's so bad.

- Takes damage to save time

- Genre: Shooter
Solar Jetman is a space adventure game where the main excitement comes from the physics of the game. In the game, you explore planets with a small module you fly around, towing fuel tanks and other artifacts back to the mother ship, often from planets with a ridiculous level of gravity and narrow hazardous caverns. Anyone who has played this game surely knows how difficult it can be, while being entertaining for hours after hours.

No passwords were used in this movie, although a few warps were used to skip stages.

This movie features many changes compared to the previous author's movie, leading to an improvement of about 7 minutes. There's a new warp in the very beginning. A different module is purchased, which lets the player tow wormholes closer to the fuel items you have to collect and allows for some new physics abuse. Some different items are used, such as anti-gravity items. For more details, see the submission comments.

There is some commentary by the author in the emulator movie file and in the primary (HQ) encode.

You control Varik, who fell down into the ruins when Alexis chased him down and accidentally blew a hole in the ground. Now it's up to you to get Varik back out, with no shortage of monsters along the way. You're not alone - There are many others who have also fallen, and are willing to sell items that may help you.

The game is in a top-down view, monsters move about in real time, and the game certainly has RPG elements in that you level up from defeating these monsters. You have three stats that increase separately from level, gaining strength by physically attacking, knowledge by hitting with attack spells, and magic endurance by being hit with magic. The controls are difficult to figure out, with one aspect being the same button that brings up your shield will also attack if you're standing in front of a monster, but once you figure it out, it's not that bad. To reach the end, you travel through over 40 zones, each bearing their various challenges with monsters or traps, and the occasional puzzle.

In E.V.O. you play as a creature who evolves by eating his opponents. Just like real life!

We recommend reading the author's notes. They are rather voluminous and contain a great deal of good information.
