Everyone knows Freddy Krueger, who turns the peaceful dreams of people living on Elm street into lethal nightmares. This time we'll see him in a "tool-assisted" video game speedrun.

Selected notes from the author:
"The point of the game is get all Freddy's bones on every stage then kill the boss while trying to avoid getting sleep, otherwise you will have to go through dream world where there are stronger enemies but you can use the dream warriors. I only do that once in the run and only because it is imperative to go on, you have to wait about a minute to get sleep so I had to stand still for a minute doing nothing so the sleepy counter was as fast as possible."

This is a historic movie, submitted and obsoleted before the creation of the database-based (and wiki-based) site engine, before July 2004.

It was inserted to the database in a history revival project by Bisqwit in autumn 2006.

As for the movie itself... This is the first Shatterhand publication and Jackic's first version. He takes damage often and even dies in the pursuit of saving time.

Hi!!, just tried a new route for this game, skipping some bosses and even more items needed to finish the game I got a time of 25'32, that's 2'10 less than my previous attempt, leaving little room for future improvement XD
Note: You can't do the trick i use in the video in the japanese version.

Selected comments from the author:
Greetings, there you go, the japanese version of Battle of Olympus (i haven't located a USA rom that works in famtasia), the game is just like Zelda II but without an overworld, the movie skips anything not needed to finish the game, actually i skipped an item that would be unavoidable playing the real thing cause without using it the last boss is invisible saving loads of time. Hope you enjoy this one, it was a hell of a difficult movie to do.

In retrospect, I think this is the only Battle of Olympus submission that fights Lamia (the snake-tailed archer woman).

Battle of Olympus (オリュンポスの戦い) improved by 2:06 again.

The author calls this version "final", but because of the somewhat boring looking olive collecting scene near the beginning of the movie, I doubt this will be the final version.

Gunstar Heroes (1993) is widely considered to be one of the best action games on the Sega Genesis — ironically, being commercially unsuccessful due to poor promotion. It features a variety of melee attacks, as well as 4 basic weapons which you can combine in pairs (making a total of 14 combinations) — all densely packed in a swift and explosion-heavy gameplay spanning over seven uniquely designed stages.

This single-player run by Jackic plays through Normal difficulty. Among other changes, in Normal difficulty, weapons do more damage, and the boss of the second stage has fewer forms. For a two-player run on Expert difficulty, see this movie.

A 220 MB MKV has been provided as an Archive.org download link. The size of this MKV is slightly larger than usual — this is due to an amount of colors and on-screen motion even the best codecs have problems coping with.

Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
