Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Apogee Software in 1992. It follows the mission of a World War II Allied spy, William "B.J." Blazkowicz, to take down Hitler's Nazi regime. Also known as Wolf3D, it is widely regarded as having helped popularize the first-person shooter genre on PC and is id's precursor to the wildly popular Doom series.

dwangoAC and slamo escape from Castle Wolfenstein as fast as possible, using various tricks. Read the authors' comments for more details.

- Heavy luck manipulation
- Uses hardest difficulty
- Genre: Puzzle
Blockout is best described as a 3-dimensional successor to Tetris with shapes of up to 5 cubes arranged in various polyforms falling into a 3D pit. Blockout remains popular as there is still an active community as well as several leaderboards. The game was ported from the original DOS to Apple IIGS, Macintosh, Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST, Atari Lynx, Genesis and arcade, with the Lynx version faithfully ported by the original designers, Aleksander Ustaszewski and Mirosław Zabłocki. The original manual is available courtesy of archive.org (albeit with several inaccuracies compared to the released game) and Hardcore Gaming has a good history of the game's development and subsequent ports.

This run by dwangoAC completes all levels of Blockout as fast as possible on Out-Of-Control with Fast Rotation.

- Uses a suboptimal character
- Uses hardest difficulty
- Genre: Puzzle
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a puzzle spin-off of Super Street Fighter II Turbo first released on the arcades in 1996, then ported to several home consoles. The game works on a mechanic of normal blocks (which can group together into power gems), crash gems (which destroy gems of the same color), and counter gems sent over from opponents that count down until they turn into normal blocks. Blocks fall in pairs and after the 25th pair a diamond gem appears which destroys all gems of the same color on the playfield.

dwangoAC chooses Ryu and plays through the hardest difficulty in a mere 7 minutes and 8.15 seconds.

Otocky was created by Toshio Iwai in 1987 and was only released in Japan for the Famicom Disk System. It is best described as a musical side-scrolling shoot 'em up where the primary weapon is a ball which, when fired in one of eight directions, plays different musical notes on the primary instrument quantized to the beat of the background music.

Needless to say, when such a weapon is put into the hands of a tool-assisted speedrunner, you might just find yourself humming along to the end result.

- Aims for maximum score
- Genre: Platform
C64anabalt is an official conversion of Canabalt for the Commodore 64 (in cartridge form). Canabalt is the game that defined the endless runner genre. The game controls consist of a single jump button to alter the height of the player's suit-clad character, who runs across a war-torn city at an ever increasing pace.

At the incredible speeds reached in this TAS, the building generator can bug out and fail to create sections of buildings. Author dwangoAC had to carefully avoid these bugs in order to successfully run the maximum distance.

There are two different versions of this port. This movie uses the Encore build, which includes a faithful port of the original soundtrack to the C64's SID sound chip.

- Aims for maximum score
- Genre: Action
This table from Epic Pinball was widely distributed as shareware in the mid 1990s. The stated objective is to "[b]ring the android to life!"

The author of this run does just that, maxing out all of the game counters and achieving a very impressive final score.

- Heavy luck manipulation

Selected comments from the author:

High Speed was released on the NES by Rare Inc. in 1991 and is based on a real pinball machine released by Williams pinball in 1985. The core rules of High Speed were ported over fairly faithfully from the original pinball machine although Rare added in two different minigames and a "wizard mode" goal which is reached by completing a total of 8 cannon minigames and 6 race minigames.

Completing all three races and all four cannon minigames causes a spaceship to appear which displays a message that states "you have beaten the system... for now”; beating another round of three races and four cannon minigames causes a rocket to appear which states “you have beaten the system this time.” and marks the end of the game. Reaching this final “you beat the system” bonus is the goal of this speedrun.

As Crazy Climber, climb your way to the top of a series of buildings, where a helicopter is waiting to pick you up and take you to the next building. As Climber scales a building, he can climb up and sideways, but not down. While climbing a building, windows will open and close simultaneously. If a window closes on either of his hands, he will lose his grip. However, if a window closes on both of his hands, he will fall to his death, resulting in the loss of a life.

In this first WonderSwan publication on the site, watch dwangoAC make the game look easy by scaling the four skyscrapers in record time.

Galaga is the classic arcade shooter that takes place in space, and that's a sufficient enough description. There is also a movie of the MSX version.

- Uses hardest difficulty
- Genre: Shooter
The original arcade game Zaxxon was the first game to employ an isometric perspective, later used in other games like Q*Bert, Marble Madness, and Fallout. This ColecoVision port preserves the graphical style which gave the game its name – AXONometric projection.

This run by dwangoAC uses the hardest difficulty and performs several difficult shots in order to beat the first cycle of the game in under two minutes.

Sega Galaga is the only port of the classic arcade game that has a different name. It is effectively a completely different game than the arcade version. While the basic concept is the same, this version has simplified sound and rules, no challenge modes and all of the waves are identical, although the enemy movement increases and decreases in cycles reaching the fastest speed at level 35.

This run by dwangoAC beats the example high score in the fastest time possible.
