This is a run made from a fan to other fans. It won't be impressive for people who haven't tried playing it seriously. But for people who know the game well, it's quite an amusing watch.

The most obvious way to save time in this game is to pick up as little fruit as possible and be close to dying from starvation when the level ends so the score-counting will take less time.

As always, a bug on level 11 prevents player 2 from moving, so he gets a game over for that level. Player 1 plays level 11 alone and player 2 comes back for level 12. This is a bug in Battletoads itself.

Walktroughs for this game estimates the completion time to several hours when playing normally. Here we see the game completed in only 13 minutes! Usually you have to collect clues for the password to the last dungeon - but there is only a limited amount of possible codes and one is picked when you start the game, so you can skip them. There are also some collision detection abuse and lots of luck manipulating.

There is a huge amount of secrets and hidden paths to take in this game, which must be planned ahead. The author recommends the FAQ by melvinwang on GameFAQs.

This movie uses a password to get the hardest difficulty, thus not having to finish the game twice.

This movie is 9:11 faster than Arc's version, mostly because of the utilization of a gameplay-altering glitch: pressing Left+Right simultaneously in order to make Orpheus move with almost unlimited velocity growth. The trick is documented at GameResources/NES/BattleOfOlympus.

The route used in this movie is decided by a few things the hero (Orpheus) must do:

• Collect three fragments of love in order to activate the Tartarus entry.
• Get a key to access the second fragment's location.
• Get the Eyeball of Graeae to see invisible doors (to access the first fragment's location).
• Get a sword in Peloponnesus. It is needed to kill the three-headed guardian with respawning heads (Cerberus) in Tartarus.
• Collect 60 olives in order to buy the ocarina, which will be needed to cross the sea to get to Crete and Tartarus.
• Get a harp in order to call Pegasus. It makes the route faster.

With some movement glitches, warps, and luck manipulation, FODA beats this game very quickly. Not only that, to make the run even harder and more impressive, he doesn't kill any enemies.

This 9 second improvement goes through the game quickly and makes use of the helicopter and the motorbike in order to increase speed.

This might look like it's an auto-scrolling game, but in fact the scroll speed depends on the number of enemies on screen. The player tries to kill all enemies as soon as possible to increase the scroll speed, using 2 characters to maximize this process. Almost 30 seconds were saved compared to the previous version.

The movie might look a little clumsy with the player hitting walls all the time, but there's no other way: Ecco has tremendous maximum speed, but no brakes whatsoever. The fastest way to slow down is simply running into something.
