- Genre: Action
In Dodge 'Em (1980), you control a race car on a four lane track, and your goal is to collect all of the dots in order to earn points and advance to the next level. The race track is divided into four quadrants with a break in the lanes between them, and you can change lanes only within these breaks. A second car will travel in the opposite direction and try to get into your lane and crash you, so you need to make sure you switch to any lane it isn't in! You can travel at two different speeds (fast and slow) and even have a second player control the enemy car.

In this mesmerizing movie, yep2yel and morningpee speed around the track and beat the first round of the game in under 55 seconds. In doing so, they improve the previous movie by 11.28 seconds thanks to new routes and speed tricks.

- Contains speed/entertainment tradeoffs
- Aims for in-game time instead of real-time
- 2 Players
- Genre: Racing
Dragster, released in 1980 for the Atari 2600, is the first video game developed by Activision. It was programmed by David Crane, who later wrote Pitfall! The object of the game is to either beat the player's opponent across the screen, or to race against the clock for best time, depending on the settings used.

The game is well known as having the first console speedrun with the world record of 5.51 by Todd Rogers in 1982 according to Twin Galaxies. This record is known as the oldest, unbeaten world record in all of speedrunning. Omnigamer decided to try and match the elusive 5.51, and disassembled the entire game looking for how the 5.51 was achieved. After conducting his research, Omnigamer found that the long sought 5.51 was impossible to achieve within the conditions of the game, putting into doubt the veracity of the record of Todd Rogers.

Instead, this run achieves the fastest possible time of 5.57 on player one, with player two completing the track in the lowest amount of input frames.

H.E.R.O. is a rare fast-paced platformer for the Atari 2600. You control a man with a gyropack who must traverse caves, avoid dangerous enemies, and use a few sticks of dynamite to blast open paths in order to rescue trapped miners.

StarvinStruthers improves upon the previous publication by 4.77 seconds, due to the use of a new glitch called the "Door Skip".

- Genre: Platform
Baby Roo has been kidnapped by monkeys, and it's up to Mama Roo to come to the rescue! Starting out at the bottom of the screen, she must hop and climb up the various ladders and platforms to the top where Baby Roo is being held captive. The monkeys will try to stop her by throwing or dropping apples and knocking her off the platforms, but Mama can fight back. With her boxing gloves on, she can knock them out with a single punch!

BrunoVisnadi improves the previous glitchy movie by 9.57 seconds, mostly through increased usage of the jumping trick.

- Aims for maximum score
- 100% completion
- Genre: Platform
Pitfall II: Lost Caverns is a platforming video game originally released for the Atari 2600 in 1984. The sequel to the popular Pitfall!, it opens up the world into a free-roaming adventure instead of progressing on a linear path.

This run is different from the any% TAS in that it does everything necessary to achieve the maximum score. This means avoiding falling down pits (which decreases your score by 100 each time) and following a much longer route in order to obtain all items.

Alyosha improves the previous run by 9.11 seconds, thanks to a new trick and better optimisation. Please read the author's comments for more details.

- Heavy luck manipulation
- Genre: Action
Entirely unrelated to the TV series seaQuest DSV, Seaquest is a submarine combat game in which you control a water vessel and must pick up divers at different levels of depth while avoiding fish and enemy subs. While most of the game takes place underwater, you also must resurface for air from time to time so your air meter doesn't run out.

Like Tetris, the game ends when the score reaches the maximum 999999. This run by morningpee aims to reach this score as fast as possible.

morningpee accomplishes this through manipulating diver and enemy spawn points and using a glitch to freeze an enemy sub, allowing him to collide with it until the maximum score is reached. A lot of effort was put into figuring out the game's RNG and the optimal point to use the No-Despawn glitch; for more information, see the author's comments.

- Genre: Shooter
Choplifter is one of the few games that got ported from home systems to the arcade instead of the other way around. The goal of the game is to pilot an attack chopper to rescue 64 hostages from the clutches of the evil Bungeling Empire.

Besides being fun to play in real-time, it's also a great game for TASing. It has fast-paced and lag-free gameplay, nice graphics, and simple mechanics. Both moving up and down and rotating the helicopter don't decrease your horizontal speed, which is great for both optimization and entertainment.

In this run, CoolKirby uses tool-assisted precision and tricks like blasting open enemy camps as soon as possible to beat the game in under three minutes.

Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
