Obsoletes movie #996 (05:21.93)
Rating: 6.8 (12 votes)
- Aims for fastest time
- Is a demonstration
- Takes no damage
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Manipulates luck
- Genre: Adventure
- Genre: Platform
When played normally, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is a rather long game, in which exploration, leveling up, and killing bosses in order to gain access to different items or portions of the castle is necessary. However, a bit of luck manipulation and a series of glitches involving DSS cards throw all these aspects of gameplay out of the window, allowing the player to warp directly to Dracula and kill him humiliatingly in just over 5 minutes.

This movie is a 21 frame improvement over the previous movie by the same author due to some small optimizations.

Obsoletes movie #434 (09:12.42)
Rating: 5.9 (23 votes)
- Is a demonstration
- Takes damage to save time
- Uses warps
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Genre: Platform
- Genre: Puzzle
This hack of Super Mario Bros. is the sequel to Air, by U1, the author of the original. It's almost exactly the same as its predecessor, but with one major change: no infinite jumps. There's a few level changes to accommodate this change and all invisible coin blocks are marked, but the vast majority of the game is exactly the same.

Air 2 (and Air) is a trial-and-error action puzzle game. Savestates are practically required to beat the game. Abuse of Super Mario Bros. glitches is required.

This run does not aim for fastest completion.

- Aims for fastest time
- Contains speed/entertainment tradeoffs
- Is a demonstration
- Manipulates luck
- Genre: Strategy
While the CPUs were distracted, FractalFusion changed the dice on them and then left the board for a few minutes. When he came back, all the CPUs were crying. The fraud squad is still investigating.

This movie aims to defeat 4 CPU controlled players in as little time as possible. Luck is manipulated for the 1:08 and then the controller is released, allowing the game to take its course.

Obsoletes movie #250 (13:46.8)
Rating: 5.1 (19 votes)
- Is a demonstration
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Manipulates luck
- Genre: Sport
This movie doesn't aim to run up the score. Instead, it plays an entertaining game of American football by keeping the score close for drama and by utilizing a variety of wild plays with interceptions, fumbles, impossibly long passes, etc. Thus, the movie manipulates luck often.

In addition, the author exploits a number of bizarre bugs, such as CPU players tackling their own teammate, and a very unorthodox final play.

True tecmobowlers will enjoy the team choice and final score.

This game (along with Pocket Monsters Red) is the Japanese version of the first generation of Pokémon games and is the first ever Pokémon game.

This run abuses a bug that was fixed in later releases of Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) that allows a player to warp freely though the world. Victory is achieved in a matter of minutes with this route. Normally, the game takes well over an hour at the fastest to finish.

To see a more substantial run of Pokémon, watch this movie.

Note: You need VBA version 20 to watch this run.

Obsoletes movie #840 (09:29.83)
Rating: 5.5 (18 votes)
- Aims for fastest time
- Is a demonstration
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Manipulates luck
- Starts from a predefined save
- Genre: RPG
Chrono Trigger is a long RPG that typically takes hours to days to complete. We already have one tool-assisted speedrun of this game.

However, this movie is different, because it starts from New Game +, which means that the equipment and character stats are preserved from a previous game completion. This run uses a save file which is specifically optimized for an optimal New Game + completion of the game; thus this run should be considered more as a concept demo than as a rule-conforming TAS.

This beats the game with perfect characters and best equipment in a very short time. The actual time from power-on until the death of the last boss is only about 7 minutes, but the ending demo does not start until the Dream Team scene (part of the ending) is completed.

The micro gate in the right-side teleporter is only available in New Game +.

In this 22.71-second improvement to the previous version, menu screens are entered in screen transitions to save time. Other improvements were also found.

Obsoletes movie #789 (17:54.45)
Rating: 7.3 (21 votes)
- Contains speed/entertainment tradeoffs
- Is a demonstration
- One player controls two characters
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Plays at hardest level
- Genre: Fighting
Like all of the Mortal Kombat games, MKII is about warriors fighting in a tournament for inspecific power and fame. Shang Tsung is chosen for his ability to transform into other characters.

This movie aims to demonstrate as many quirks and fatalities of the game as possible. Examples include two Shang Tsungs with a Raiden child, a headless Reptile eating Kitana's head and a bloody clone of Jax. The AI is also humiliated.

The author's comments page is a definitely recommended reading for this movie.

Note: The movie contains semi-realistic violence to be expected with the Mortal Kombat series.

- Genre: Platform
Taking a break from the usual goal of pure speed, Genisto instead decides to break Super Mario Bros 3 from the Super Mario All-Stars pack. This run demonstrates programming errors, abuse of the game engine and commits suicide in ways most people have never even considered.

Mario plays through all 8 worlds in a fashion similar to a warpless run.
