Brain Age (also known as Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training) is a puzzle game designed on the premise of exercising your brain. In this run, for example, the idea is to solve a series of simple mathematical puzzles.

And yet, the answers given... are not exactly what you'd expect.

The same author of the previous run brings you a set of 51 new ... answers, with extra time taken to provide you, the viewer, with the greatest possible attention to detail. Additionally, the increased detail provides a higher level of difficulty, to prevent the number recognition from checking the answer before the image is complete.

If you liked how the machine's drawing recognition system got abused in this movie, you must also check the troubles TAS brings the text recognition system into.

This game is Super Mario Bros, the original, but on Famicom Disk System. It is much similar to the ROM version of the game, except for one minor difference that is demonstrated here.

The −1 stage is completely different. In the NES and Unisystem versions, the −1 stage repeats infinitely and cannot be completed, but in FDS, it can be completed, and then come −2 and −3.

The −3 stage in FDS is a castle level, and completing it ends the game, even though it says "princess is in another castle". The princess is not seen in the ending, but she is sighted twice in the −1 stage, as shown in this movie.

This movie is 84 frames faster than the previous one due to the use of a "cheap trick".

Snood is a blatant rip-off of puzzle game inspired by Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble with very similar gameplay; originally released for the PC, it has since been ported to several platforms.

This movie plays the time attack mode; you won't believe the author's luck as he clears them so quickly you will wonder what is going on.

The TASVideos record movie for Pokémon: Yellow Version is a glitchfest that has Ash cataloging every Pokémon in slightly over a minute. Is there any way to get more ridiculous than that? Using nothing but the Game Boy controller and tool-assisted precision, the game is made to run an arbitrary program. See the author's comments for the technical details.

This movie improves upon its predecessor by never having to leave Ash's room to gain full control of execution flow. However, the predecessor has a very different kind of payload at the end. Be sure to see the last minute of the previous movie as well.

This movie was submitted on March 14 - "Pi Day", and contains many many references to π. See how many you can find.

Basically, FractalFusion in this run applies the idea that TASing is programming input rather than playing the game. To see more examples of that, be guided by this post.

This hack of Super Mario Bros. is the sequel to Air, created by the same author, U1. The vast majority of this hack is exactly the same as its predecessor, but with two major changes: all invisible coin blocks are marked and infinite jumps are no more, which results in a few changes in level design accommodated to it.

Air 2 is a trial-and-error platform puzzle game. Savestates are practically required to beat the game. Abuse of Super Mario Bros. glitches is required by design.

This run does not aim for fastest completion.

The games Mega Man 3, 4, 5 and 6 are all the same. Eight robot masters are defeated and Mega Man steals their weapons. After some kind of distraction, Mega Man attacks Wily's fortress and it typically gets blown up. If you don't believe that's true, we offer this movie.

While driving home the point in honour of our first multi-game movie, Baxter and AngerFist prove that Capcom really has been making the same game over and over again by playing Mega Man 3, 4, 5 and 6 using the same input.

No attempt is made to synchronize the endings of these games. Mega Man 6 finishes first and Mega Man 4 finishes last.

The CPU demands for playback of this movie are unusually high. Systems under 1.2 GHz may struggle to play this video. The audio has been processed by adelikat for virtual surround sound.

We recommend sitting back as far as possible and looking (staring?) at the center of the screen when watching the AVI.

If you like this movie, you may like to check out other movies in which multiple games are played simultaneously with one controller.

While the CPUs were distracted, FractalFusion changed the dice on them and then left the board for a few minutes. When he came back, all the CPUs were crying. The fraud squad is still investigating.

This movie aims to defeat 4 CPU controlled players in as little time as possible. Luck is manipulated for the 1:08 and then the controller is released, allowing the game to take its course.

This run of Paperboy performs a perfect delivery every day. The author crashes his bike Monday - Saturday to avoid the obstacle course but then plays and finishes it flawlessly on Sunday. It does this as fast as possible, but does not go for score. Instead, it has different subgoals set up every day:

  • Monday & Tuesday: Object crashing day
  • Wednesday & Thursday: Window crashing day
  • Friday: Moving objects crashing day
  • Saturday: Daredevil day

Bowser has kidnapped the princess (again) and Mario must save the day. But this time through, he takes a stroll. Nothing bothers Mario as he walks through all the stages, sometimes backwards, on his way to save the princess.

This movie obsoletes HappyLee's walkathon, since it completes all of this game's stages without using any warps. This movie demonstrates the possibility to complete every single stage without pressing the B button. Having been bothered by the lack of running and shooting in this game, the ending outright asks the player to press B.

The author here proves that Nintendo has been making the same game over and over again by playing all four Super Mario Bros. games with the same input.

While the main focus is to complete Super Mario Bros. 3 as fast as possible, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bros. 2 were completed around the same time as Super Mario Bros. 3. Super Mario Bros. 1 finished quite a bit earlier, on the other hand.

To the average player, Tetris is a fast-paced action/puzzle blend where reflexes become a huge factor as pieces pile up and speed increases dramatically. For one with perfect reflexes, however, it's no longer a challenge of 'where does the next piece go to make lines / avoid piling up?' so much as 'where can I put the next piece to make things look the most interesting?'.

This run exemplifies that philosophy, exploiting the ability to manipulate the next piece that appears to the fullest in the service of creating a pattern which would be nigh impossible to duplicate in real world conditions.

If you thought that TASing was only about speed, look no further than this example to prove otherwise.

This run played on a real NES

Family Feud (1993) follows the premise of the American TV show of the same name. Two families are pitted against each other in a contest aimed at guessing the results of a public survey. In the first two rounds, the first family member to press a button and give a concise answer that happens to be on the survey earns points. After that, this family can continue guessing answers on the survey, with control switching to the other family on incorrect guesses. After two rounds, the family with fewer points is disqualified, and the last round allows two members of the remaining family to list several of the existing survey answers in a very short time period.

Heisanevilgenius's family, The As, ignores all that and goes with elaborate and utter nonsense instead… only to find the host accepting their answers as correct. The other family, The Halls, doesn't even get the chance to insert a word, proving the racial prejudice of the host. Watch the game and see for yourself.

If you liked how the machine's text recognition system got abused in this movie, you must also check the troubles TAS brings the drawing recognition system into.

Note: Some answers contain coarse language.

In the latest in silly ideas turned into inspirations for our ever-dedicated TASers, this movie takes one controller and wires it into three SNES emulators at once; the same input is used to play 3 games simultaneously with one controller. There are also animations constructed with spare controllers during this movie.

This movie beats the first three Mega Man X games with 100% completion each (an improvement on its predecessor, which beat only the first two games and without 100% completion).

If you like this movie, there are other movies that beat four games with one controller!

Note: There might be a visual anomaly during the battle with Serges in X 2. This is an emulator bug relating to the Cx4 chip used in the Mega Man X 2 cartridge.

Encoder's Note: There are multiple audio tracks included with the encode. Track 1 is the combined audio of all 3 games panned so that the left side is MMX1, center is MMX2, and right is MMX3. Track 2 contains MMX1's audio, track 3 contains MMX2's audio, and track 4 contains MMX3's audio.

Like all of the Mortal Kombat games, MKII is about warriors fighting in a tournament for inspecific power and fame. Shang Tsung is chosen for his ability to transform into other characters.

This movie aims to demonstrate as many quirks and fatalities of the game as possible. Examples include two Shang Tsungs with a Raiden child, a headless Reptile eating Kitana's head and a bloody clone of Jax. The AI is also humiliated.

In Riddick Bowe Boxing, you can face off against a slew of imaginary fighters as well as Riddick Bowe himself. The game features both a career mode, where you rise through the ranks until you battle Bowe, and an exhibition mode where you can choose any two boxers to face off.

In this playaround, laranja chooses exhibition mode and picks the worst boxer to battle against Bowe. Normally, it would be nearly impossible for him to win. Using tool-assisted precision, not only does he beat Bowe, but he does it while landing every hit and taking no damage. In the process, he toys around with the champion until the match is over.
