| Rather than being able to explore the world freely and sequence break to her heart's content, Samus is at the mercy of a computer's will. As a result this game is very linear with virtually no chance to collect items out of order. In-game completion time is 0:40 and no unnecessary items are collected (0%) | ||

| At first there were 70 stars because Bowser demanded it. Then there were 16 stars because MIPS the rabbit demanded it. Then there was 1 star because Bowser's Sub demanded it. Now there are none because the viewers are impatient and demanded the game be quicker. As with many other runs on this site, the goal of pure speed has resulted in the complete breaking of the game. Very little of the game's normal play remains. If you'd like to see more of what Super Mario 64 offers, see the 120 star run. This movie is approximately a 5 second improvement to the previous movie due to a series of improvements discovered by the authors, detailed in the submission message. Alternatively, you can view a more optimised version of the previous type of any% TAS, the 16-stars run, here, played by Swordless Link. The run is 41 seconds faster than the last published 16-star movie. | ||

| Seems anytime a movie is thought to be perfect someone comes along and improves it. Here, klmz has improved his previous movie by 21 frames by improving upon the previously discovered flagpole glitch. Even in simple-looking games you can always find more time-saving tricks to exploit if you look hard enough. See what's been found so far at the Super Mario Bros tricks page. | ||

| Sonic the Hedgehog CD was developed to showcase a new Genesis/Mega Drive peripheral, the Sega CD. Likewise, this movie is the first of its kind on TASVideos and showcases the newly updated Gens emulator that allows for making stable movies of Sega CD games. The game is markedly different than other Sonic games; aside from "improved" graphics and sounds, each level has 2 to 4 alternate versions that correspond to different time periods. Sonic can move between them to affect the gameplay and ending. This run is approximately 37 seconds faster than upthorn and nitsuja's previous run thanks to various optimization and minor route changes. For more information on the improvements, the BIOS files used and a run for the Japanese version of the game, please read the author's submission notes. There are two AVIs, the first recorded with the US music and the second with the Japanese music. | ||
