| The glitched Aria of Sorrow main quest TAS has become even more glitched. Using an obscure out-of-room travel technique involving in-game saving and subsequent dying, klmz ploughs through the game with confident pace of a cold-blooded killing machine in a little under seven minutes — whole 5 minutes and 20 seconds faster than the previous movie by zggzdydp. We recommend reading the author's comments for more information on the death warp glitch and other timesaving techniques used to make this improvement happen. If you would like to see more of the game, we also have a glitchless Aria of Sorrow movie here. | ||

| Ash reveals his dark side, using save corruption and direct memory manipulation to get 152 pokémon in the blink of an eye! Then he beats the game in just 1 minute and 13 seconds (ingame time)! This run is so glitchy that it's near impossible to follow what's going on without help; reading the author's notes is highly recommended. Note: This movie uses a hard reset (akin to turning the system off and then on again) and will desync unless you have a version of VBA that supports reset recording. | Final Fantasy Adventure is the first game of the Seiken Densetsu (聖剣伝説) series but it does contains some classic Final Fantasy elements. The series is probably best known for the SNES game Secret of Mana. This game was later remade on the Gameboy Advance as Sword of Mana. Gameplay is quite similar to a Zelda game, however there is level building. In this run, MattyXB demonstrates how to flawlessly beat the game. What's unusual is that he also uses some glitches to completely skip parts in the game saving over 20 minutes. The "Power" option is selected on every level-up. Those trying to follow the story in this movie will have a hard time, since the main characters were both named "A" and integral points in the story were skipped. | ||

| This hack of Super Mario Bros. is the sequel to Air, by U1, the author of the original. It's almost exactly the same as its predecessor, but with one major change: no infinite jumps. There's a few level changes to accommodate this change and all invisible coin blocks are marked, but the vast majority of the game is exactly the same. Air 2 (and Air) is a trial-and-error action puzzle game. Savestates are practically required to beat the game. Abuse of Super Mario Bros. glitches is required. This run does not aim for fastest completion. | ||

| This run exploits a programming error that allows the author to start playing from level 23. If you notice that there's nothing meaningful going on in the first minute of the movie, this is normal: the actual gameplay takes place only after triggering the "game over" screen. | Battletoads (1991) is a futuristic beat-'em-up game that is known for its graphics and extreme difficulty. The story is that the sexy Dark Queen who wants to rule the universe has kidnapped Princess Angelica and a toad named Pimple. Two other toads, Rash and Zitz, attempt to rescue them and defeat the Dark Queen. This single-player attempt uses warps. | If science fiction is to be believed, the ultimate evolution for biological beings is to discard the physical body and become an entity of pure energy. For video game characters, it seems to be the ability to zip through walls. In this latest TAS by zggzdydp, Simon Belmont joins the league of characters possessing this ability. Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is the story of Simon's horrible weekend without sleep. Two years after defeating Dracula, the hero is physically weakened by Dracula's curse. He must gather Dracula's remains and incinerate them at the ruins of Castlevania in order to end the curse. This movie is 2 minutes and 23 seconds faster than the previous effort by the same author. | Eggerland is a predecessor of the NES Adventures of Lolo games, and in certain ways,
it has much more features than Adventures of Lolo 1. The author has explained the
game (and the movie) very well, so we recommend reading his comments. This movie abuses a couple of the game bugs in a surprising way. Note that this is a Famicom Disk System game. Read What is FDS for more information.

| In this run, adelikat picks up maximum speed upgrades and has fun with perfect reflexes, much like the previous movie. That is certainly something nice to do, because the game scrolls automatically and the player cannot affect the speed. However, the point of this movie is not just to beat this game as fast as possible, but rather to do all kind of unpredictable and awe-inspiring things rarely seen in any TAS — without losing time. See for yourself. This is probably one of the best illustrations on how to create art out of a simplistic and otherwise uninteresting game to watch. What is also different about this movie is an extra warp which significantly shortens the game, and the use of a new tool (input macro) as described in the submission text. Bots were occasionally used to generate pseudorandom input while still avoiding death. | ||

| The Adventure Island game series is known for its extreme straightforwardness. Regardless, the games are pretty fast-paced so if you have some free time on your hands, shut down your brain and watch this carefree TAS. This version is significantly shorter than the previous movie mainly due to the use of warps, but also from better precision and some new tricks. | ||

| In this game, you control a kiwi bird and rescue other kiwi birds trapped within the level. There are numerous warps, used to cut this game several minutes short of its expected completion time. The ceiling and wall physics are very similar to Bubble Bobble, which means some of them can be passed through when you wouldn't expect it. In addition to this there is a glitch that sends you through the floor, saving a lot of time in the final stages. | ||

| Solar Jetman is a space adventure game where the main excitement comes from the physics of the game. In the game, you explore planets with a small module you fly around, towing fuel tanks and other artifacts back to the mother ship, often from planets with a ridiculous level of gravity and narrow hazardous caverns. Anyone who has played this game surely knows how difficult it can be, while being entertaining for hours after hours. There are a few different modules to fly, and even a password option, but none of these were used in this movie. This movie completes the game through a few secret warps, extensive usage of the afterburner, many reckless maneuvers and a few timebombs, now about 1 minute faster than the previous author's movie. | ||

This movie is faster than the previous version thanks to the flag pole glitch discovered by klmz.
This is the real Super Mario Bros 2. It was never officially released in the USA and Europe. It was later ported to SNES, and released as "Lost Levels" on Super Mario All-stars. | This movie aims for the fastest possible time to get a score of 999999 in the Nintendo Tetris.
It warps directly to the 19th level and fills half of the field quickly to be able to operate short distances in the top part of the field. From there on, it only gets tetrises (4-line clearings) until the score is maxed out.
A glitch involving pressing several directional buttons at once is used to manipulate luck for the next pieces. Flickering of the next piece block and piece in play results.
For the record, this is the fastest speed the NES game is capable of. For more extreme Tetris fun, please see movies

| Zanac is one of those space shooter games in which you are trying to save the earth. Due to the highly repetitive nature of this game, the hidden 9th input button (the console's Reset button) is used to warp to the last level. This results in an unsually long grey screen at the start of the movie. Starting on the final level with 3 lives and only the initial pea-shooter for a weapon normally makes the game near impossible to win. The author takes advantage of frame perfect timing to upgrade rapid fire to the maximum in a single level; this allows for an improvement of 3 seconds during the boss fight. | ||

| This movie here is one that makes little to no sense to someone who isn't familiar with the game. The main character can move very fast and the dark graphics don't help in figuring out what's going on. There is a lot more going on in this movie than meets the eye. For example, the player uses a secret warp involving combining the alchemy potions that are scattered throughout the levels. | Earthworm Jim is the unlikely story of an earthworm who finds a suit with super powers and goes on a rampage to protect earth and his puppy Peter. The game follows the absurd spirit of the story: for example, the suit can use Jim for a whip, there is a boss who attacks by vomiting fish, fighting lawyers in hell, and bungee cords made out of snot. This is the first submission for this game. You will do yourself a favour if you fast-forward the boring Andy's Asteroids bonus-levels. | ||

| Kid Chameleon is a platformer known to be hard. Dying is easy, as is getting lost in the multitude of teleporters and levels. Getting and keeping the correct helmet, as well as choosing a good path through the level system, can drastically cut down time. There are also a good number of tricks used to speed up this game, listed at Kid Chameleon Tricks. There have been many attemps to TAS this game, but this is the first one to be published. We recommend reading the author's comments for this video. | ||

| Madfox Daimyojin must be stopped, and only Psycho Fox and his band of various animal friends can stop him. Each character has different characteristics, and naturally the fastest one, Tiger, is employed in this run. Top speed is mixed with warps to finish the game amazingly quickly, probably before you can figure out what's going on. | ||

| This game (along with Pocket Monsters Red) is the Japanese version of the first generation of Pokémon games and is the first ever Pokémon game. This run abuses a bug that was fixed in later releases of Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) that allows a player to warp freely though the world. Victory is achieved in a matter of minutes with this route. Normally, the game takes well over an hour at the fastest to finish. To see a more substantial run of Pokémon, watch this movie. Note: You need VBA version 20 to watch this run. | ||

The in-game time of this run is about 38 minutes 56 seconds. | A movie aiming for fastest possible completion of Donkey Kong Country without bothering to enter all the bonus rooms, now 39 seconds faster than previously. This movie also uses a secret warp to skip many levels. Many new tricks have been found to make this movie faster, some of which are only subtle adjustments that may not be easy to notice. | This is the any% TAS of Donkey Kong Country 2. The movie aims for overall fastest completion and doesn't give a flying banana about bonus rooms. Warp barrels are used whenever possible, meaning a large part of almost every stage in the first two worlds is skipped. This is a huge improvement over the previous movie (5 minutes and 6.33 seconds to be exact) thanks to greatly increased precision and a multitude of new tricks, all of which are explained in detail in the author's lengthy comments. The author claims this movie took him a year to produce.

| Donkey Kong's been kidnapped and old Cranky Kong insists that Diddy collect a bunch of coins that say "DK" on them. These goals are sufficiently compatible that Diddy and Dixie decide to get a little bit sidetracked on their rescue plan. This run abuses a lot of bugs with regard to motion and collision detection. Read the author's submission to learn more. Note: this movie was recorded with a slightly modified snes9x. A soft reset feature was added to the movie file. A copy of this snes9x can be found in the author's submission, with source code patch. | ||

| The third installment of the Final Fight series has Guy dressing up in a dashing outfit and murdering hundreds of people in less time than it takes to watch the local news. All in the name of vanquishing evil, of course. Paraphrased from the author's submission: This run uses tools - Sledgehammers, which I get from the barrels. THAT'S a real tool-assisted run! (I know it's a bad joke but I couldn't resist it :P) | ||

| Out to lunch is a very strange game involving a chef trying to catch escaped vegetables and other food. The game is difficult due to strict time limits and a small amount of lives, which makes the run look impressive. Those unfamiliar with the game are advised to read the author's comments at the submission page to help understand the game and enjoy the movie more. | ||

| This little-known Japanese wire-action platformer, with a very well-made rubber wire physics simulating engine, sports a schoolgirl setting out to rid the world of giant mutant fish. The game is very easy to win, but very difficult to play (try it). This video demonstrates one of the fastest paths to the ending, including quite a few almost impossible maneuvers ― whether playing tool-assisted or not. This video is a 7 seconds improvement to the previous version. See the Umihara Kawase page for more information about this game, and the author's comments for more information about this movie. | ||

| SNES Zelda completed in a very quick manner by traveling in an alternate dimension through the walls. The basis of the trick is to enter a corridor or staircase by holding left+up+right at the bottom of the stairs. Note that you need the patched version of Snes9x to play the movie file. Now 24 frames faster than the preceding version. | ||
