| In this entry of the popular Metal Slug series, the evil would-be dictator General Morden launches another attempt to take over the world - or so it seems on the surface; this game proves that Morden is no Dr Wily by having the true villains turn out to be something else entirely. Several of this game's stages branch; this run takes the shortest possible route through the game. | Metal Slug X (2001) is a remixed version of Metal Slug 2, the second installment of an immensely popular run'n'gun series released on the Neo Geo MVS. The games are notable for incredibly detailed pixel graphics, fluid animation, and good humor; but the real key to their longevity is, of course, their high difficulty as far as survival goes.
This is x2poet's 16.42 seconds improvement over the previous movie, despite now using the hardest difficulty setting. One notable improvement is the use of both players, compared to one in the obsoleted run.

They have to save Johnny's girlfriend and gather map pieces in order to find the biggest treasure in the world! Along the way, they must fight past lots of quirky henchmen, large bosses, and more, all accompanied by cartoony graphics and stereotypical cowboy voice clips. In this game, Johnny and Tom can use several different types of weapons, such as the elements of ice, fire, and thunder. They can collect a limited number of super attacks, denoted by the letter "B" under their health bars, to hurt everything on the screen and damage bosses heavily. | Everyone who has at least once attempted to gather a soul from each of the 120 different enemies in Aria of Sorrow, especially during a speedrun, knows the frustration it incurs after a hundredth failed attempt to get the required drop. That just makes this all-souls TAS, in which the player beats the game on hard mode and without using glitch warps in a little less than 25 minutes, even more impressive.
Upon completing his warpless run, Kriole decided to take another jab at this category, improving upon his earlier effort by 51 seconds.
However, if you would like to see the game beaten to a pulp in a mere quarter of this time, don't miss the glitched run by klmz.
Note: While the player doesn't use glitch warps (neither by death nor by getting out-of-bounds using transform souls), he uses the normal warp rooms present in the castle. Note: Starting from reset was necessary to use hard mode. However, doing so is normally not allowed — refer to the rules to see the reasons.

| Pokémon Ruby, along with Pokémon Sapphire and Emerald, is part of the third-generation Pokémon games, after Pokémon Gold and Silver. Noticeable differences include the graphics and interface, Pokémon abilities, and the running shoes that allow the player to move around in the outside overworld very fast, before getting the bike. FractalFusion and GoddessMaria complete this run in a mere 1:31:45, 3 minutes and 22 seconds faster than the previous Pokemon Sapphire run. Instead of using Machop/Machoke, this run now uses Taillow/Swellow, which is obtained far earlier in the game, also has Guts as an ability, and has powerful moves early on and throughout. The movie also uses advanced methods of luck manipulation, with the help of RNG analysis. For more details, see the submission text. | Shining Soul is an Action RPG by Atlus. It is the first 'Shining' game to not be produced by Camelot Software Planning, and thus is not considered canon in the 'Shining' universe. However, the game serves as an internal homage to much of the 'Shining' series. All of the bosses are major villains from a previous 'Shining' game. The author manipulates randomly-placed monuments to appear, increasing attack power as much as eight-fold during the run. Additionally, hundreds of critical attacks had to be painstakingly manipulated to allow for enemies to die in a single hit. | ||

| Shining Soul II is the last 'Shining' title to reach American shores, and the author's 5th 'Shining' TAS on the site. Unlike some previous games in the series, this game and its prequel play more like traditional Action-RPGs. This game, like its prequel, allows the player to pick a character type. In this run, the character chosen was a ninja, for his ability to use speed magic. The author uses a glitch to dupe power wines and bombs, the former massively increasing his attack strength, and the latter making the run look more like Bomberman than a 'Shining' game! This run is 17:58.75 faster than his previous Shining Soul II publication due to some very impressive manipulation to slaughter bosses in mere seconds. It is recommended that you read the authors comments for more info about the run and the game. | ||

The games are monster-battling games, where the player contacts various creatures using a cell phone-like device called a D-Shot in order to get them to battle the foes he or she will encounter. The name of the series derives from Keitai, which is Japanese for "cell phone," since phoning creatures is an integral part of the game, and "fang," to symbolise the various beasts involved. Among noticeable differences is that the game is now colourful, and that there are over 250 Pokémon instead of around 150. This movie plays through Pokémon Gold in a fairly fast manner, catching only a half dozen Pokémon in the process, but acquiring all the gym badges, and ultimately beating the protagonist of the earlier generation Pokémon games. | Set before the events of the first two NES games, the player gets to play as Christopher Belmont, one of Simon's ancestors. Unlike most Castlevania games, there are no sub-weapons, and the player loses whip upgrades upon damage. Additionally, the Castlevania Gameboy games unlike their NES counterparts have ropes and moving spike walls instead of stairs. This game being one of the first to come out for the Gameboy was programmed poorly, exhibiting lots of lag, and also suffers from poor jump controls. Seizing upon that, the level designers took it upon themselves to create fake difficulty by requiring pixel perfect jumps throughout. In this movie, arukAdo eliminates lag by killing enemies as they appear on screen, destroying candles, collecting coins, and ducking when possible. In addition to that, luck is manipulated via pausing to prevent certain enemies from appearing or to force bosses to enter attack range sooner. Note: The Konami Collection version was used instead of the original, as it lags a bit less, and is also fully colored.

| The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is a Game Boy Color game that carries over much of the graphics from Link's Awakening. Surprisingly, much of the game engine is completely different and developed by Capcom. In it, the Oracle of Seasons, Din, is kidnapped by Onox, General of Darkness. Link must travel throughout both Holdrum and Subrosia to collect the 8 Essences of Nature, power up the Rod of Seasons, and defeat Onox. This game has been attempted by various authors over the past 5 years. Finally, SwordlessLink, along with Tompa, who joined the project after dungeon 4, beat this legendary game in 1:25:57.21 primarily through the use of pitwalking, Pegasus Seeds, and enemy manipulation. | Rolan's Curse is like a simplified version of the NES Legend of Zelda with slower gameplay and more restricted game world, resulting in a primitive hack-and-slash experience. Nevertheless, there exists an interesting storyline: The kingdom of Rolan has been invaded by the forces of some evil being called Barius. However, in this movie the final boss is never actually seen. Instead of meeting Barius face to face, the hero dies while defeating the first level boss. The game then decides to freak out and end right there, declaring the rest of the story unnecessary. This is 0.25 seconds faster than the previous movie, arising from a substantial amount of testing and optimisation. | ||

| As you can see here, the original Castlevania wasn't only on the NES, but also on the MSX computer. scrimpeh did on the MSX Castlevania what Phil Côté & Morrison did on the NES Castlevania.
This version is different in some important ways. For instance, you must collect a white key in each stage to advance to the next stage. The chain whip is lost after each boss battle. Some subweapons can be bought from sitting bystanders in white or red clothes.
This is an improvement of 29.03 over the original run thanks to a few new time-saving tricks.

| Mega Man ZX Advent is the second game in the Mega Man ZX series. What's so different between the classic series and ZX Advent? First, you get to choose between a male (Grey) and a female (Ashe) character. Then, instead of stealing weapons from the bosses, the player steals the boss itself! Instead of switching between weapons, the player switches between forms using the Biometal Model A. Finally, the player has less freedom to pick the stages of his choice.
Mothrayas picks Ashe, the female character, to minimize the cutscenes and to save time.

The second game greatly expands on the first to include a party of three heroes (all descendents of Erdrick and the hero of DW1) and battles that may include many enemies.

| This is a non-glitched run of Dragon Warrior 3, now under 2 hours long. This game is known in the TAS world as being a pain to play due to the RNG (random number generator) being much harder to manipulate than most other games. As a result, seemingly random actions throughout the game are actually intentional manipulation of the RNG to ensure favourable outcomes, such as avoiding monsters or good battle outcomes. To give you an idea of how surprising this time is to most players, the previous run is about 24 minutes longer than this one. Even before that, any run that was under 3 hours long was deemed to be very difficult to perform. | ||

| Dragon Warrior 3 completed quickly by using a bizarre glitch that allows the author to fill his inventory with useful items, manipulate his stats, and even add places to his return list! This allows most of the game to be skipped. Thanks to this new method of item glitching, this is almost exactly nine minutes faster than the previous version of the run. The author wrote detailed comments explaining this glitch. | ||

| This is the JPN version of EarthBound Zero (also known as Mother (マザー) ). As the first version of the game, it has a number of useful glitches; this run abuses the way the game handles the "Bread crumbs" item to warp off the edge of reality and casually walk straight into the final boss's lair two and a half minutes faster than the previous run. | EarthBound Zero is the first game in the Mother/EarthBound series. It was localized, but never released in the US. Technically, the game was localized as EarthBound, but the sequel was localized and released as EarthBound, so this game generally goes by the name EarthBound Zero. This movie is done on the U version, which does not have the "bread crumbs" glitch used in our other movie of the game. It does, however, have a run button, which means this movie may seem faster at times, even though it's a lot longer. | ||

| Final Fantasy is one of those games which needs no introduction to most gamers. For the rest of you, the game follows four generic heroes who are trying to restore the four orbs which have been contaminated, and ultimately defeat Chaos. Unfortunately only one of the warriors is actually a hero; the rest are sissies who died early on during the quests. Strange as this may sound, much time is saved by doing so since fewer commands need to be entered every time the player runs from a random encounter. Even if you see a 10 seconds difference between this and the previous movie, don't get fooled! This version is actually 2.44 seconds faster! This mistake is due to the movie file format change (FCM to FM2). This improvement is done by fighting the boss Garland faster than before, and by using some tweaks you can see in the author's comments. | ||

The core rules of High Speed were ported over fairly faithfully from the original pinball machine although Rare added in two different minigames and a "wizard mode" goal which is reached by completing a total of 8 cannon minigames and 6 race minigames. Completing all three races and all four cannon minigames causes a spaceship to appear which displays a message that states "you have beaten the system... for now”; beating another round of three races and four cannon minigames causes a rocket to appear which states “you have beaten the system this time.” and marks the end of the game. Reaching this final “you beat the system” bonus is the goal of this speedrun.

| 'Lagrange Point' (ラグランジュポイント), is a very late (as in, released in 1991) Japanese-only RPG produced for the NES. This game is notable because Konami teamed up with readers of Family Computer Magazine (ファミリーコンピュータマガジン) to form a group, called 芸夢工房 (geimukoubou, art dream workshop), in order to make this game. The readers were permitted to design the characters, monsters, events, message-texts, music, the title-screen, and such. With enhanced sound for the NES due to Konami's VRC7 sound generator Integrated Circuit, the game is considered a masterpiece to many Japanese people. The story is about a pilot, Jin (also known as Gin), who is exploring a biohazard outbreak at a space colony, linked to the disappearance of Dr. Stolte. He arrives, only for the spaceship to be attacked. The effect of the outbreak soon becomes clear. More information on the game can be found on the Japanese Wikipedia (machine translation). This run features commentary in the form of Advanced SubStation Alpha soft subtitles created by FractalFusion and the author, neo_omegon. If you use MPlayer to view the MKV, add the -ass option to the commandline to view the subtitles with their proper layout. The MKV has been continued until past 1:50:00 to show a secret message after the end. | ||

While many heroes would depend on hours of fighting for experience, Paul instead gets his experience from those trivial things in order to defeat Abadon in a timely manner. Best ending requires all such trivial tasks done, ensuring you see Paul gaining experience from delivering a letter or talking to a tree. Along the way, there are vicious enemies who beat up Paul. Being in a hurry, Paul doesn't stop for them, preferring to use the UNKNOWN spell to patch himself up. | On this site, we make perfect movies, and then we surpass them. Of course, if we can surpass them, they were not perfect in the first place, but who would have known? When "perfection" is defined as "as fast as possible", it requires some sacrifices. Indeed, this movie sacrifices a lot in the playability of the game. Full of tricks to pass through walls, tricks to avoid mandatory battles, tricks to pass through enemies relatively unharmed, tricks to acquire weapon refills in little time — there is very little in this movie left that resembles normal playing. Even death is used as a viable playing strategy that saves time. All of the tricks are still performed by the means of mere controller input, even though significant portions of the input were calculated by a computer program. This movie is a considerable improvement of 3:04.39 to the previous movie; this is mainly due to a new technique which tricks the game into calling an 'end of level' object. Of course, upon watching this movie, one does have to question something... is it Mega Man saving the world? Or Dr. Wily trying to save it from absolute destruction?

It also introduced Rush the robotic dog, who provides the abilities of Rush Coil, Rush Marine, and Rush Jet. Furthermore, after you beat the 8 robot masters, the game makes you revisit modified versions of four stages to fight the Doc Robots, who imitate the robot masters from Mega Man 2. The few survivers have to struggle for life, among whom our young hero, E, just makes his decision, to become a great Hunter. Released by DATA EAST in Japan in 1991, Metal Max was one of the more "creative" role-playing games amongst Console RPGs, due to more freedom on the story. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic future, in which surviving people cluster from villages to ruins, while some Hunters from them fight monsters and outlaws in the "wild". The author abused glitches in the game to complete it achieving the "good ending" in less than half an hour, while normally it is supposed to take more than 10 hours. | To the average player, Tetris is a fast-paced action/puzzle blend where reflexes become a huge factor as pieces pile up and speed increases dramatically. For one with perfect reflexes, however, it's no longer a challenge of 'where does the next piece go to make lines / avoid piling up?' so much as 'where can I put the next piece to make things look the most interesting?'. This run exemplifies that philosophy, exploiting the ability to manipulate the next piece that appears to the fullest in the service of creating a pattern which would be nigh impossible to duplicate in real world conditions. | The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle is a frustrating action puzzler. In it, you take control of Bugs as he collects carrots while avoiding enemies such as Sylvester the Cat, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Wile E. Coyote. Equipped with nothing but an occasional boxing glove which he can throw and some invincibility potions, Bugs must eat his way through 60 levels without getting trapped by a mob of Looney Tunes.
In this run, the author, Brandon, exploits the game's AI, which is everything but intelligent. Only one of these enemies follow actual movement, while the others will track your input, even if the input changes nothing. As such, the author is able to often render the enemies useless, allowing him to take the most optimal path. When he can't do this, he tries to find the best possible workaround, often pausing for the exact right amount of time to make it past a baddie. As a secondary goal, the author also attempts to maximize the score without losing time. For more details, as always, please see the author's notes, and also make sure to watch the captions provided in the encodes.
This author has also created a run of this game's "Special Levels".
This run has two YouTube steams. The first contains no input display while the second one does. This was included as the luck manipulation is heavily based on input, and it's hard to follow the run otherwise.

| The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle is a frustrating action puzzler. In it, you take control of Bugs as he collects carrots while avoiding enemies such as Sylvester the Cat, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Wile E. Coyote.
This game features 4 "Special Levels" which can be accessed either by the "No Carrot Signs" found in several levels or by a password. In this run, the author, Brandon, completes these difficult levels with absolutely no help from the boxing gloves and potions featured in the main game. All he has to work with is precise movement and luck manipulation, and although this, coupled with the numerous enemies, make these levels far less trivial than the main ones, the completion time is still relatively small. Much of the length of this movie is a result of the unavoidable and abnormally long tube scenes in S4 and S1. For more details, as always, please see the author's notes, and also make sure to watch the captions provided in the encodes.

| Urban Champion is one of the most memorable games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where two normal-looking guys trade blows in front of your favorite neighborhood drugstore, in broad daylight, pausing to look nonchalant and whistle in innocence when a police cruiser passes by. Alternating between high and low punches, and fast or slow jabbing speeds, you seek to outwit your urban adversary and knock him backwards, a screen at a time, until finally he falls to his death by plummeting, helpless, headlong into the darkness of an open sewer-access manhole. This run uses Knuckles as the primary character. Using a number of glitches (of which the most prominent is zipping through walls), most of the levels are completed tens of seconds faster than intended. After each stage, the next level is selected via roulette. The cut-scenes and level select sequences are quite long, comprising about 66% of the total movie length. | Madou Monogatari (魔導物語) is an RPG best described as 'strange'. The game has overly cute design and the battles are probably a little different than you would expect. The story revolves around a girl who is on a quest to pass her final exam in a magic school. A defining moment is one of the cutscenes, where a slime is encountered and suddenly defeated by a strange girl bursting through a brick wall. Then, an equally strange armored knight drops in from the ceiling and the two of them proceed to ignore you and chase each other away. The fast completion time is achieved mostly by using a random-effect spell, which has a small chance of producing a devastating elephant stomp. While traveling through all those rooms, the author also acquires all of the relics, making this an "all relics and best ending" run. During the exploring, the player can unlock different abilities for Alucard which make him able to reach new areas. Some of these abilities are used to gain a tremendous speed and glitch through routes which players could not have even dreamed in 1997. | ||

| Final Fantasy VIII (1999) marked a significant departure from earlier Squaresoft titles — it was their first game to have realistically proportioned characters and did away with much of the traditional gameplay systems used by earlier titles. Additionally, it is the first Final Fantasy to focus on a love story.

| MediEvil tells the tale of one very deceased knight's quest to rid the land of undead legions and the wicked magician that created them. The gameplay is very reminiscent of the action-platformers of old, consisting largely of running around each stage whilst hacking up baddies. But there is also a good share of puzzles to be solved. The tale, speaking of, is of Sir Daniel Fortesque (the knight) and his battle against evil forces, and the magician who started it all, Zarok. Sir Fortesque pulls out his own brand of trickery in order to plow through this game, warping around levels and outwitting fiendish puzzles in order to stop Zarok and his forces. | ||

| This game (along with Pocket Monsters: Red) is the Japanese version of the first generation of Pokémon games and the first ever Pokémon game.
This run, a ten frame improvement over the previous version, abuses a glitch that was fixed in later releases of Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) that allows a player to warp freely through the world. Victory is achieved in a matter of minutes with this route. Normally, the game takes well over an hour at the fastest to finish.
To see a more substantial run of the first generation of Pokémon, watch this movie. For a less substantial run (which also demonstrates that they didn't fix all the glitches in later versions), watch this one.

| Pokémon: Blue Version is part of the first generation of games within its famous series, known for having a very large number of beneficial glitches. In fact, the game can be completed in less than one minute of in-game time by save data corruption as evidenced in the run of the Yellow Version, and it can be completed in under an hour using a similar, yet more 'conventional' glitch, as shown by the run of the Red Version. These runs break the game, and avoid much of the gameplay intended by the developers. And now, for something completely different. In this run, the authors, p4wn3r and Mukki, catch all 151 Pokémon and complete the game while only using what they call "light glitches", showing off much more of the game than in the other runs while still using many glitches to complete this goal much faster than the programmers could have imagined. The player controls Firebrand, who is scouring the Demon Realm for elemental Crests, which preside over different elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Time, and Heaven). | Donkey Kong's been kidnapped and old Cranky Kong insists that Diddy collect a bunch of coins that say "DK" on them. These goals are sufficiently compatible that Diddy and Dixie decide to get a little bit sidetracked on their rescue plan. The main improvement in this movie comes from using Hard Mode. | EarthBound is a great RPG, designed by Shigesato Itoi in 1994-1995, and is also known by the name Mother 2. It is best described as "random", in a good way. The game has a great emphasis on a humor, and indeed many things in the game are almost caricatured, from subplots to characters. It also has a versatile soundtrack. Our description for the previous movie stated, "Although this being a speedrun (tool-assisted at that), most of the plot of the game is intact...". This time around, not so much. Thanks to some collision detection bugs, including one that shows that the Skip Sandwich is a fitting name for the item in ways the developers never intended, the author is able to move around the game's areas freely, completing the bare minimum number of tasks needed to keep the final battle from locking up. Also unlike the previous movie, this one does use a death as a shortcut. However, the teddy bear survives this time around. | ||

| Final Fantasy IV (renamed to Final Fantasy II in North-American publication) was a revolution to the RPG genre. It was the first to introduce the active battle system, among many other redeeming qualities. This movie plays through the game in a mere 2 hours, 53 minutes and 14 seconds. It aims for real time, but has a secondary goal of lowest in-game time when that does not incur an expense in real time. The in-game completion time is 1:59:28. The author also included many easter eggs, or surprise occurrences, throughout the movie. These have been detailed in the author's comments. We recommend reading the comments regarding this movie. Note: This movie resets the game console a few times, first saving the game and then loading it, so to watch it on an emulator, you will need an emulator that supports recording the console resets. This movie was made with the original English-language version. It was also encoded with the Action Replay code 0495DCFF, which keeps the music volume from decreasing while the game is paused. This greatly reduces the annoyance factor of constant pausing during battles, which is done to save time. | ||

| Final Fantasy VI (renamed to Final Fantasy III in North-American publication) is arguably the most famous RPG on the SNES console. It is very much different from Mystic Quest, in more aspects than should be counted here. This movie plays through the game in little over 4 hours by the means of advanced analysis of the game engine, and the abuse of certain game errors/features that give the ability to one-hit-knock-out even the strongest enemies ― most prominently (but not only) the Joker Doom lore from Setzer’s slot machine. A glitch involving Relm’s sketch ability was not used in this run. It is highly questionable whether or not this glitch can actually be used to save time. Also the glitch cannot be performed on this version of the ROM. The boss battles, including the last boss, might be somewhat anticlimactic in this movie due to the unusual attack technique, but besides being a very nice timeattack/TAS record, the movie is a nice trip down the memory lane for those who have played this game, and a graphically and especially musically pleasing experience for even those who haven't. This movie was made with the English-language version. We recommend reading the author’s comments regarding this movie. | ||

The gameplay is somewhat similar to NES Legend of Zelda with its maze-like map filled with one-screen rooms, except this time the emphasis on puzzles is stronger, and you can play in co-op. In this movie the authors control two characters (Goofy and Max) simultaneously. This allows for a good deal of team work as one character can go get an item while the other heads for the exit. When there is no multi-tasking to do, the authors do a good job performing antics with one or both of the characters. This is a nearly 4 minute improvement over Frenom's previous movie. Improvements come from new tricks, better teamwork, luck manipulation and optimized movements.

| This game is about two characters, Chiaki and her reluctant demon servant Zenki. They have saved the world from the forces of darkness before, but apparently once is never enough. Chiaki has a vision of five cloaked figures and knows that only she and Zenki can stop them. They set off at once to track down the demon leaders. Watch as Dooty rushes through this game in just over 13 minutes, using many of Zenki's flashy attacks. Along the way, some stone monuments need to be destroyed in order to proceed. For more details, see the author's comments. Note: the author plays in Normal mode since Hard mode is not available until you beat the game once already. Also, Normal mode reduces the amount of enemies on screen, so it has less lag than Hard mode. | ||

| Lufia 2 is an adventure RPG prequel to Lufia 1. In this installment, Maxim and his cohorts set out to take down the evil Sinistrals. The game sports a large amount of puzzles, yet a shockingly low amount of battles. Using RNG manipulation, this movie illustrates how to avoid many unimportant skirmishes so as to cut down on wasted time. This manipulation is also used to get more favorable item drops throughout the whole run. Note that the (U) version of this ROM contains some graphical glitches. | The story, according to this site: Every 300 years, the Star of Death blocks the sun and all newborn lives die. None of the people, animals, plants, or even monsters can escape from this fate. But one day, a baby survived. Escaping death's attraction, this child grew up, became the Devil King, and ruled the world. Also, the Devil King opened the Abyss Gate and released the devil lords within, until one day, he suddenly vanished. After that the world was ruled by the four devil lords. 300 years later, the Death Eclipse hit the world again. One baby survived. This child grew up and became the Holy King. Supported by many friends, he drove back the four demon lords back to the Abyss, and the Abyss Gate was closed. After another 300 years, the Death Eclipse hit the world again around 10 years ago. The whole world is watching closely for the new child of destiny, feeling both eager and uneasy. Will it be a devil king, or a holy king? The player picks one of the 8 characters, who have their own story, until they see there are four Abyss Gates open. It is internationally regarded as the first game of the Mana series, but the Japanese title is “Seiken Densetsu 2”, so it is the sequel of “Final Fantasy Adventure”. It utilizes real-time battles like many other action RPGs, but there are many features peculiar to this game, such as the “Ring Command” or multiplayer action. Touch-me beats the game very quickly, using three players simultaneously and a whole host of glitches. | Soul Blazer is an RPG made by Enix, and is considered to be somewhat related to its predecessor, ActRaiser. The main character in this game is an angel sent to destroy invading monsters and released the captured souls of innocent people. In this series, every action in the monster lairs directly affects the non-combat areas, and vice-versa. That being said, much planning was needed for this run. | This movie features a perfect example of what can occur when TASers will go to any extreme to sequence break a long game. Very little that is recognizable remains. Cpadolf forgoes key items, yet bothers to collect the X-Ray scope, an item normally useless to an experienced Super Metroid player.
With the use of X-Ray Scope to get out of the rooms' bounds, some non-trivial physics abuse, and esoteric RAM data manipulation via dying in a certain room, the amount of tasks Samus usually has to do on Zebes has been cut to almost nothing. No boss is ever fought in this TAS, and even Mother Brain is skipped completely. The in-game completion time is 00:12. Only 6% of the items are collected.
This is an improvement of 25.61 seconds real-time, or 22.98 seconds in-game, over the previous glitched any% run. The main improvement comes from a new method of skipping the cutscene with the big metroid, although the author found many other improvements along the way.
The peculiar effects of the Space/Time Beam, if properly utilized, can cut this run's time further in half. The movie will have to begin from a savestate, but Samus will start the game fully powered-up, so item collection and all detours associated with it are no longer required. Such a movie, also made by Cpadolf, can be found here; its completion time is 12:46 (00:06 by the in-game timer). Then he hits the no limit casino; mutiplying by a hundred again with two betting rounds of craps. The player ends the game with 10 million dollars. Most of the scenes in this game do not relate to gameplay in any way.

| A science-fiction/western game. One peculiar feature is that the character's movement and aim are controlled simultaneously. This is nearly a 6 minute improvement over the previous movie due to the use of 2 players, more accuracy, and some nice tricks. The author has also embedded a few subliminal message throughout the movie. Details can be found in the author's comments. | ||

| Watch as Mega Man takes on the latest set of Robot Masters and everyone's favourite mad roboticist for the tenth time in the classic series. This run is played on normal difficulty (the highest available with no prior save data) and, amongst other feats, takes no damage at all (Mr. Perfect achievement), kills one of every enemy (World Warrior achievement), and manipulates more extra lives and large power-ups than you've probably ever seen before in a single playthrough. The final in-game time is 20:04. In a fit of cosmic irony, this publication, which is the first for a current set-top console, is of a game deliberately designed to be a throwback to the NES days. | ||
