Not only does Michael Jackson have a Genesis video game, he also has an Arcade game! This game is loosely based on the movie of the same name, featuring Michael Jackson saving children from Mr. Big. When Michael meets his pet monkey Bubbles, he turns into a killer robot!

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker is a 3 player arcade game, where you play either a white-, red-, or black-suited Michael Jackson. The author uses all three players to complete this game as fast as possible.

This is a playaround of what is considered the most popular hack of Street Fighter II - Championship Edition. The hack was found in bootlegged arcade cabinets throughout the world, surpassing the original in availability in some places.

This hack features several modifications, such as the ability to change characters mid-match, teleportation, midair special moves, and new projectile attacks. Capcom later incorporated some of these new moves into Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

In this run, the author shows off all the fighters and makes good use of some of the craziness added to the game. He also shows off quite a few glitches that are quite amusing to see.

Note: As it is widely available in stand-alone form, no patch is available or necessary.

Despite the game's nonsensical name, error1 creates an entertaining run of Dramatic Battle mode, controlling both players against the cpu and using them to pummel his opponents with style. He uses the combination of Dhalsim and Rose to create entertaining combos.

Award - Arcade TAS of 2010
¡Ay, caramba! The Simpsons Arcade Game is Konami's 4-player beat 'em up based on the ultra-hit TV show, The Simpsons. The Simpsons cartoon has now (at the time of writing) spanned 21 seasons, a world-wide movie, and licensing from here to kingdom come. In this TAS, adelikat and DarkKobold use four of the five Simpson family to track down the missing 5th member, Maggie.

Based on the manga known in North America as Fighting Spirit, Hajime no Ippo - The Fighting! is a game where you fight your opponents a bit like in Super Punch-Out. You gain more special moves as the game progresses.

In the run, the author makes usage of those special moves gained in-game to beat the opponents as fast as possible. He also takes advantage of an interesting quirk in the opponents' AI, ensuring that they do not get up after the first knockdown. For more details, see the run's comments.

Mortal Kombat - Tournament Edition is a stand-alone game which acts as a sort of expansion to the GBA version of Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance. It has different characters, better A.I. and some bug fixes compared to the original GBA game.

AKheon plays the Tag Team mode, where he chooses a team of two fighters to fight against other teams. The character can be swapped at any time during a match.

If you're looking for a run that abuses a lot of crazy glitches in a handheld fighting game, then don't look further, you have it right here!

Battletoads is a classic video game by Rare for the NES, but different versions of the game were also made for many other systems, such as the Genesis and the Game Boy. All of these games are known for their comical animation style (such as gigantic fists and boots when the toads attack) and their high difficulty, essentially requiring the player to memorize the upcoming dangers to react fast enough to survive.

In this version, the player plays as the Battletoad Zitz on a quest to rescue the other two Toads, Rash and Pimple, from the Dark Queen. This game has only 9 stages, as opposed to 12 in the NES version. However, unlike the NES version of the game, there are no warps, and there is no two-player option. There are also fewer time-saving glitches. That doesn't stop Cardboard, though, from beating up tons of enemies and completing the game very quickly.

For more Battletoads madness, you can also see our movies of the NES version.

In Kung-Fu Master, the player displays frightening reflexes that would be enough to obliterate any opponent.

In this run, the author, mugg, improves his previous run by changing the goal to getting the best in-game time, ignoring lag caused by enemy drops, among other things, in order to make for a more entertaining run. In addition, he changed the ROM used to the Japanese version, sacrificing some elements in order to make the fastest possible run. Please see the author's notes for more details.

Super Smash Bros began a series of games that mixes characters from several Nintendo-made games in a unique fighting game. It relies not on wearing down the opponent's "life" but increasing damage until he or she can be literally knocked off the stage. Wildly popular, this game has inspired many lazy days of casual multiplayer gaming but also intense competitive tournaments that happen to this day.

We have seen several submissions for this game here but this is the first one to be published. The author shows off fancy fighting with Yoshi on the hardest difficulty. Rather than the usual goal of speed, this movie aims to be as entertaining as possible in the tradition of all fighting games here.

Another submission by the same author but which is based upon fastest completion time instead, can be watched via emulator movie at its submission page. There are also several other submissions of various quality that can be watched on an emulator.

Battletoads (1991) is a futuristic beat 'em up game known for its graphics and extreme difficulty. The story is that the sexy Dark Queen who wants to rule the universe has kidnapped Princess Angelica and a toad named Pimple. Two other toads, Rash and Zitz, attempt to rescue them and defeat the Dark Queen. This two-player attempt uses warps.

Kung Fu (1985) is a simple beat-'em-up game in which the protagonist known as Thomas has 5 floors of bad guys and bosses to fight through in order to save Sylvia, his girlfriend. Unfortunately, as the final screen tells us, their happiness "does not continue long" — a common arcade trope to make the player beat the game in a second loop.

Phil bested the predecessor movie by over a second thanks to better luck manipulation and decreasing the amount of jumps.

The author rarely takes damage, with the notable exception of multiple suicides down an elevator shaft.

This is nearly a minute and a half improvement over the previous movie.

Also, the author made a switch from the JPN version to the USA, which results in a 5 second slower intro screen.

Welcome to Metro City, the intro of this game promptly starts with the murder of Metro City's hero Vortex. The need has arose for a new hero; Nightshade - a guy in a trench coat!

In this game, guide Nightshade through Metro City to build popularity, fight rats, gentleman, and female ninjas, and most importantly museum statues.

This run by Maximus speeds through the game as fast as Nightshade is able to, ignoring lesser goals such as the museum items, saving a kitty, or checking out the women's dressing room. It is 25 seconds faster than the previous version by the same author.

Unfortunately the only escape from a deathtrap seen in this run is the deathtrap Nightshade finds himself in at the beginning; however one of the highlights of this game which can also be enjoyed in this run is the hilarious dialog, such as being threatened by the legalization of wooden nickels.

In River City Ransom, Alex and Ryan face off against gangs of students and evil bosses to win their town back and rescue their girlfriends.

A glitch is used often in this run when left and right are pressed at the same time, which causes the player to do all sorts of crazy things, and usually lose all of his power. This is done to reduce lag during running segments. The boss battles are fought with style in mind, using a variety of attack methods throughout.

River City Ransom is a goofy game that deserves a goofy TAS. This movie showcases cool tricks and some glitches that don't necessarily result in the fastest completion. We also have a movie which aims for speed.

We looked at previous submissions and demonstrations of this game and tried to include the most entertaining parts of what was available, and add in a few ideas of our own along the way. Hopefully you'll get a kick out of it.

TMNT2 is a classic beat-em-up game with 4 classic main characters: Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Donatello. Leonardo and Michelangelo are the two turtles used in this movie.

With two players, the game spawns around 8/5 more enemies than with one player. Also the boss HP has been increased.

While this run is slower than the one player run, the author makes up for it in entertainment with one turtle fooling around while the other turtle is attacking.

This movie is Baxter's new and improved version, which is an astounding 4 minutes faster than his previous version. Donatello has learned the secret ninja art of teleportation and... no, actually, a glitch that enables the player to move around extremely fast is used to hit all the enemies as soon as they come on screen. TMNT3 is the last installment of the TMNT series on the NES. Unlike in the second game, the turtles have different special attacks with different power and speed. The special attack also consumes one life point, unless there is only one life point remaining.

Raphael is by far the fastest turtle, but he also has the weakest special attack. Michaelangelo has the strongest special attack, though he is slow. Leonardo is also used occasionally in this run, since his special attack can hit some bosses twice. Unfortunately for Donatello fans, Don is not used in the run.

This movie improves the previous one by over 3 minutes, due to the use of two turtles and careful management of score and health.

The Adventures of Bayou Billy (1989) contains a trinity of genres: beat 'em up (like Streets of Rage), sniping (like part of Golgo 13), and car racing (like Rad Racer). In the game, 'Bayou' Billy West fights his way through Louisiana en route to New Orleans in order to save his kidnapped girlfriend, the luscious Annabelle Lane.

The American version of this game is a lot more difficult than the Japanese one (Mad City), although this video makes it seem easy.

Urban Champion is one of the most memorable games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where two normal-looking guys trade blows in front of your favorite neighborhood drugstore, in broad daylight, pausing to look nonchalant and whistle in innocence when a police cruiser passes by.

Alternating between high and low punches, and fast or slow jabbing speeds, you seek to outwit your urban adversary and knock him backwards, a screen at a time, until finally he falls to his death by plummeting, helpless, headlong into the darkness of an open sewer-access manhole.

By finding a new glitch, using a different fighting technique, and further polishing the run, the author, t3h Icy, beats his obsoleted movie 0.84 seconds faster.

A typical streetfighting game which spawned the popular Streets of Rage trilogy. This game is rumored to have used the same engine as Golden Axe, which is why the A button summons magic (sort of) to damage all enemies on screen, instead of doing some sort of roundhouse, like almost all other beat'em ups.

Power Rangers, an immensely popular set of TV series from the 90s, naturally spawned a massive number of tie-in products. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 has a hidden tournament mode.

As per all good Mortal Kombat TAS's, the game is humiliated and turned into a laughing stock.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is one of the most diverse games of the series in terms of characters and play modes.

The authors take advantage of this and deliver an exceptional playaround movie. Bugs, easter eggs and impossible combos are shown off at a breathtaking pace. The movie features a mix of 1 and 2 player play for added variety.

This movie is longer than its predecessor by around 14 minutes, showing off more glitches. It also uses a cheat that enables pausing in order to show off even more glitches.

Rather different from both the NES version and arcade versions of this game, this version of Double Dragon 2 features higher resolution graphics much closer to that of the SNES iterations of the series. Notably, many of the glitches present in the NES version are absent here, yielding slower yet arguably no less entertaining gameplay.

This game has a badass dude that busts other guys nuts in order to save his girlfriend.

Other highlights include nunchucks that can destroy bullets.
