- Aims for in-game time instead of real-time
- Genre: Fighting
- Genre: Sport
Based on the manga known in North America as Fighting Spirit, Hajime no Ippo - The Fighting! is a game where you fight your opponents a bit like in Super Punch-Out. You gain more special moves as the game progresses.

In the run, the author makes usage of those special moves gained in-game to beat the opponents as fast as possible. He also takes advantage of an interesting quirk in the opponents' AI, ensuring that they do not get up after the first knockdown. For more details, see the run's comments.

Evel Knievel is a game by the creators of the famous Grand Theft Auto, and is a motocross game that looks a lot like Elasto Mania and Trials.

Aqfaq defies the law of physics by doing tricks that are impossible to perform in real life. If you are looking for crazy motocross action, don't look further, you have it right here!

- Genre: Sport
The third installment to the Tony Hawk series of skateboarding games.

Since there is no real use in aiming for the fastest time, emu instead opts to show off by performing crazy stunts, large combos and making a really high score. It is intended to be judged by its mastery of the game rather than how quickly it reaches completion.

Lunar Ball, known as Lunar Pool in the US, is, as the name suggests, a pool game for the NES, comprising 60 stages of oddly-shaped tables.

With some heavy support from a bot and the help of an unusual glitch on two tables, the game is completed in record time.

The friction of the pool table can be adjusted; in this run it is left alone. See also the frictionless run. Reading the submission text is recommended.

The emulator movie requires FCEU 0.98.15 or an earlier version of FCEU. On later versions of FCEU, the last table desyncs.

- Uses death to save time
- Genre: Sport
Lunar Ball, known as Lunar Pool in the US, is, as the name suggests, a pool game for the NES with the curious ability to adjust the friction of the surface of the pool table. Indeed, it is quite possible to play with no friction, and while this may sound easy, it actually proves to be impossibly difficult due to removing the major obstacle from the balls just continuing to roll forever, causing the game to never end.

With some heavy support from a bot (and massive loss of sanity), the author manages the nigh-impossible feat of making it all the way to the end of all 60 tables even in the face of this overwhelming opposition.

Reading the submission notes is highly advisable to explain some of the oddities such as the occasional pocketing of the cue ball. (In short: The cue ball is deliberately pocketed in order to avoid getting a perfect score on every level because the point counter would take unbearably long to tick all the points, up to a half minute per level.)

For more heavy optimization of pool tables, see also the run of this game with the default friction level.

This movie aims to defeat 4 CPU controlled players in as little time as possible. Luck is manipulated for the 1:08 and then the controller is released, allowing the game to take its course.

- Heavy luck manipulation
- Genre: Sport
This movie aims for the fastest time to get the CPU player bankrupt, and abuses luck to its fullest to make that happen.

After a few turns of Monopoly war in the submissions, this version won out. It utilizes the same strategy from the previous one, but several seconds have been shaved by reverse engineering the random number generator and a brute force computer search to achieve the desired randomization with the least possible delay. Details can be found in the submission comments.

Under assumption of pure randomness, the odds of reproducing this dice and card sequence on a console is 1 in a few (North American) trillions (22 568 879 259 648, divided by the few slight variations that could work).

FractalFusion has produced an alternate superplay of Monopoly that is 3 seconds faster, but controversial. It has been cancelled.

This game takes dodge ball to the extreme!

In this movie the author constantly tortures helpless CPU players with "power shots", sending them to fly around the world (actually, just the screen) and letting them just barely get back on their feet.

Note: The flickering in this movie can't be helped, as it is an emulation problem.

This movie doesn't aim to run up the score. Instead, it plays an entertaining game of American football by keeping the score close for drama and by utilizing a variety of wild plays with interceptions, fumbles, impossibly long passes, etc. Thus, the movie manipulates luck often.

In addition, the author exploits a number of bizarre bugs, such as CPU players tackling their own teammate, and a very unorthodox final play.

True tecmobowlers will enjoy the team choice and final score.

Tool-assisted runs are more than just running to the end of a game as quickly as possible; precision also plays a huge factor. As proof, look no further than... mini-golf?

While the segments of input are very short, a great deal of work is needed to figure out exactly what the best shots are in order to complete the holes in the fastest possible time.

If you enjoyed watching this, also check out another mini-golf run with even zanier courses.

You would expect a game of mini-golf to not be particularly interesting to watch, much less a TAS thereof. To put it mildly, zany describes both the TAS and the game perfectly - for mini-golf, at least.

Watch as courses covering everything from the classic windmill to a pinball table to a pastiche of Breakout are made to look absolutely trivial by masterful precision in hitting the ball.

This game is similar to Marble Madness, except that instead of controlling the ball directly, various aspects of the course are controlled instead.

Kirby is a spherical character, so naturally it makes sense that he should be whacked around like a golf ball. A ball that can absorb the powers of enemies and use them to his advantage, of course!

This run aims for best score, then fastest time. A lot of hole-in-ones are scored, even at great time expense.

Note that there is a second series of courses which are similar to the original set. These are played as well for sport, before attacking the final boss and winning.

This run is 1:52.25 minute faster than snc's previous TAS. There's no improvement in the number of hole-in-ones, but his secondary goal is done significantly faster!

One of the few games for the Virtual Boy which actually offers a first-person perspective, Teleroboxer bears many similarities to the Punch-Out!! games - except it's substantially easier to manipulate. Indeed, it's possible to effectively autofire punches thanks to distinct controls being used for the player's two fists, leading to ridiculously quick defeats.
Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
