Arumana no Kiseki (アルマナの奇跡, Miracle(s) of Almana) is a Japan-only game by Konami with a protagonist that heavily resembles Indiana Jones. Unlike Dr. Jones, the unnamed hero does not wield a whip. Instead, he has an even more useful grappling hook that allows him to do tricks that Indiana Jones would envy and perform shortcuts that skip large portions of levels.

This beats the previous publication by 25.1 seconds. An encode with the loading screens removed can be viewed here.

- Uses death to save time
- Genre: Adventure
- Genre: Puzzle
Eggerland is a predecessor of the NES Adventures of Lolo games, and in certain ways, it has much more features than Adventures of Lolo 1.

This movie abuses a couple of the game bugs in a surprising way.

Note that this is a Famicom Disk System game. Read What is FDS for more information.

Also note that this movie is about 42 seconds longer than the previous movie. This is due to the inaccurate (shorter) FDS load times emulated by famtasia.

- Genre: Shooter
Otocky was created by Toshio_Iwai in 1987 and was only released in Japan for the Famicom Disk System. It is best described (at least by Wikipedia) as a musical side-scrolling shoot'em up where the primary weapon is a ball which, when fired in one of eight directions, plays different musical notes on the primary instrument quantized to the beat of the background music.

Needless to say, when such a weapon is put into the hands of a tool assisted speedrunner, you might just find yourself humming along to the end result.

- Demonstration
- Heavy glitch abuse
- Genre: Platform
This game is Super Mario Bros, the original, but on Famicom Disk System. It is much similar to the ROM version of the game, except for one minor difference that is demonstrated here.

The −1 stage is completely different. In the NES and Unisystem versions, the −1 stage repeats infinitely and cannot be completed, but in FDS, it can be completed, and then come −2 and −3.

The −3 stage in FDS is a castle level, and completing it ends the game, even though it says "princess is in another castle". The princess is not seen in the ending, but she is sighted twice in the −1 stage, as shown in this movie.

This movie is 84 frames faster than the previous one due to the use of a "cheap trick".

Mario has eaten too many poisonous mushrooms and as a result, decided to go on a furious killing spree. In this berserker state he has also gained the new secret ability to walk through walls at will.

Wondering how some tricks work? Information is available at Super Mario Bros. Tricks page.

This movie is 1.68 seconds faster than the previous version due to new routes in 1-1 and 1-2.

This is the real Super Mario Bros 2. It was never officially released in the USA and Europe. It was later ported to SNES, and released as "Lost Levels" on Super Mario All-stars.

FDS means Famicom Disk System. It was a Japanese disk-unit version of the NES.

In addition to the standard encode, there is an experimental encode produced in 10-bit YUV444 h.264, providing higher visual quality. You will need a very recent codec / media player (such as LAV Filters or mplayer2) to be able to play this experimental encode back. Feedback on this encode would be appreciated - please use the discussion thread for this movie for that purpose.

- Uses a suboptimal character
- Uses warps
- Heavy glitch abuse
- Genre: Platform
This is a TAS of the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, a.k.a. 'The Lost Levels', using a suboptimal punk called 'Luigi'. He jumps higher than Mario, but acts slower in many ways. However, the movie is in no way worse than the Mario version - some new creative solutions have been found.

This is an 85 frame improvement over the previous movie by Deign.

Please read the welcome page if you haven't already done so. It explains the rules and methods that apply to all of these movies, particularly the use of savestates and frame advance. Also refer to our Glossary to understand terms we use, such as TAS or other unfamiliar terms.
