In this movie the author abuses many glitches to take massive shortcuts in the game (including skipping an entire level). He also intentionally kills off the character several times in order to avoid backtracking.

As expected, the Game Boy Color "port" doesn't play much like the PlayStation or PC versions, but it does provide some interesting gameplay. Look out for the large shortcuts made possible by breaking the game's physics engine.

Or fast, depending on how you look at it.

This movie is 7:46.48 faster than the previous version. Some time is saved by using the (JPN) version over the (USA) version, but much more time is gained through heavy bot-assisted luck manipulation. Reading the author's comments is recommended.

This movie improves its predecessor by more than a half of a minute. Significant glitching is used; you will likely have to read the authors' comments to understand what's going on.

Unlike most Castlevania games, there are no sub-weapons, and the player loses whip upgrades upon damage. Additionally, the Castlevania Game Boy games, unlike their NES counterparts, have ropes and moving spike walls instead of stairs.

This game, being one of the first to come out for the Game Boy, was programmed poorly, exhibiting lots of lag, and also suffers from poor jump controls. Seizing upon that, the level designers took it upon themselves to create fake difficulty by requiring pixel perfect jumps throughout.

In this movie, arukAdo eliminates lag by killing enemies as they appear on screen, destroying candles, collecting coins, and ducking when possible. In addition to that, luck is manipulated via pausing to prevent certain enemies from appearing or to force bosses to enter attack range sooner.

Note: The Konami Collection version was used instead of the original, as it lags a bit less, and is also fully colored.

This has led to even stranger results than the old run, clearing five and a half minutes thanks to a glitch that allows for skipping several levels.

TheKDX7, author of the other Lucky Luke run, collects all 60 stars throughout all 12 levels (including 5 hidden ones) and the 2 big hearts in the Saloon and Cheyenne Mountains levels in order to achieve 100% completion.

While the author, TheKDX7, finishes the platforming stages as fast as possible, he also adds in some entertainment to the long autoscrollers to make them more interesting.

This is an improvement of 480 frames over the first Lucky Luke TAS.

In this game, Luke must work his way through a series of platformers and minigames to thwart his enemies and stop a runaway train.

Compared to the first Xtreme game, Mega Man Xtreme 2 does have more original content, though. It has an improved story (although it's still rather shallow) and unique fortress bosses (with the exception of Velguarder, Sigma's dog, who was taken from Mega Man X for the first fortress stage, and Sigma's first form which is taken from Mega Man X2) and it has mostly new stage designs that are not so much ripped straight from the SNES games. In fact, Neon Tiger and Blast Hornet's stages have more in common with Sting Chameleon and Storm Eagle's stages, respectively.

The most significant addition compared to either the SNES games or the first Xtreme game is that Zero is a fully playable character here for all our slashing needs. He plays a bit like Zero out of Mega Man Zero, but has animations like those from X4/X5 and X6. Zero can gain weapons from bosses like X can, including an obligatory uppercut slash and drill stab, but also other, more different moves such as a variant of Mega Man X's charged Fire Wave and boss moves like Wire Sponge's Lightning attack and Launch Octopus' homing fish attack. Just plain old slashing with the Z-Saber typically remains the most efficient tool, though.

The game has a Parts system like in Mega Man X5 and Mega Man X6, although it doesn't really have a lot of upgrades, much less useful ones. The only really useful ones, that are used in this speedrun, are the Buster +1 and +2 parts for X and Saber +1 and +2 for Zero. Stacking both upgrades for each character causes a significant damage boost for both characters, which saves a lot of time on boss fights.

Other than that, the gameplay of Mega Man Xtreme 2 is very similar to the first Xtreme game. It has similar pacing and glitching.

In this run, both X and Zero are used. Zero turns out superior early on, while X is faster in the middle part. The action then returns to Zero for the final couple of stages.

Following the spirit of that series, this is a stealth-based game. Supposedly tricky tasks are to be performed covertly. But in this movie, stealth is clearly not one of the author's highest priorities. It's all running through guards, as if they weren't there. Yet the player does not die.

This movie is 16.43 seconds faster than the predecessor movie.

Enjoy the hilarious badness of this game as AKheon beats down every fighter to finish in the fastest time possible.

"Jump Game" is the second of the game's two modes. The object of this minigame is to get to the goal at the top of each of the long vertical levels, defeating a boss several times in order to progress.

However, in this run, Robert_Ordis uses a glitch allowing him to clip through walls to skip several boss fights and finish all three stages in less than 2 minutes.

In this run, Robert_Ordis improves upon his previous movie by 19.64 seconds by optimizing each route and utilizing some new tricks.

This movie plays through Pokémon Gold in a fairly fast manner, catching only a half dozen Pokémon in the process, but acquiring all the gym badges, and ultimately beating the protagonist of the previous generation of Pokémon games.

This movie improves upon its predecessor by never having to leave Ash's room to gain full control of execution flow. However, the predecessor has a very different kind of payload at the end. Be sure to see the last minute of the previous movie as well.

Rather than spending countless hours collecting cards to fight the various Masters in this game, FractalFusion and p4wn3r take one of the basic decks, and with a whole lot of luck manipulation, deal out a series of crushing victories in rapid succession in order to become the Pokémon TCG Champion.

Rayman, the original flagship character of the now-renowned company UbiSoft, has no arms or legs, but that doesn't stop him from making surprisingly quick progress through this slow-paced game.

In this run, the author makes usage of a simple L+R glitch which doubles RoboCop's speed without affecting camera speed if three directions at once are pressed. In addition to this, it even allows him to warp to the next screen immediately when he catches up to the edge of the camera view while performing this glitch, and if there is an adjacent room to the direction where he's going. This allows him to get through most troublesome walls. The author provides detailed comments which help understanding what is going on.

The author, Mothrayas, plays the most popular and widely available release, which happened to be released with the final boss stage already unlocked, leading to the incredibly short completion time.

In Speedy Gonzales: Aztec Adventure, Sylvester the cat has kidnapped all the mice from Speedy's village, and our super fast hero races to rescue them. There are weapons he can pick up to fight enemies along the way, as well as speed boosts to help him jump over dangerous obstacles like spike pits.

The authors improved the previous movie by 1:19.40, because of a new route and the fact that SpongeBob has mastered the art of flying a new glitch that allows him to jump very high. This run is a collaboration between the previous two authors, CoolKirby and jlun2, and nitrogenesis, who discovered the jump glitch and made two submissions before being bested by jlun2's attempt. This run is a whopping 13.09 faster than the best attempt by a single author. Teamwork is strength!

In this movie, gameplay starts after having beaten the game and having collected 100,000 points to unlock the "You vs. Boo" mode. Mario must race Boo through several worlds which have been modified to make them more interesting in a race.

This movie improves on the previous one by 0.65 seconds due to better menu manipulation and routes.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a remake of Super Mario Bros. with some new game modes, including a challenge mode where coins and time remaining are crucial to gaining the target score, and a race mode where Mario competes against Boo to reach each level's finish first.

This run completes the Original mode, and 33 frames faster than the previous version. While this mode looks like a direct port of the NES game, there are different physics and glitches, making optimizing Deluxe a very different task. For details on this, see the author's comments.

This game has been attempted by various authors over the past 5 years. Finally, SwordlessLink, along with Tompa, who joined the project after dungeon 4, beat this legendary game in 1:25:57.21 primarily through the use of pitwalking, Pegasus Seeds, and enemy manipulation. This run abuses the game's gravity mechanic heavily, essentially making it a cuter version of Metal Storm.

As a ghost, the protagonist has the ability to possess enemies with a selection of different abilities, but that's rarely seen in this run.

In order to pull off the rescue, three keys are needed; these are retrieved in this run so as to obtain the best possible ending.

This run starts off with walking by enemies, showing how incompetent criminals are at firing guns. It proceeds to aerial combat a bit reminiscent of Gradius, further demonstrating that even when criminals fire, their weapons are no match for Batman's Batwing, even when piloted by a Batman impostor. The big finale here shows that as evil as the Joker is, he like all others cannot withstand rocket grenades indefinitely.

This game is one of those grappling hook games, with which Batman can just swing through areas quickly. Much of the improvement comes from bunnybathopping Batman's way through levels and somewhat improved boss fights.

In this version, the player plays as the Battletoad Zitz on a quest to rescue the other two Toads, Rash and Pimple, from the Dark Queen. This game has only 9 stages, as opposed to 12 in the NES version. However, unlike the NES version of the game, there are no warps, and there is no two-player option. There are also fewer time-saving glitches. That doesn't stop Cardboard, though, from beating up tons of enemies and completing the game very quickly.

In this run, jlun2 chooses the platforming mode and jumps across the Sailor Moon world, finishing this relatively obscure game in a little over 6 minutes.

The plot is rather simple. Some "bubbles" are attacking the Earth and you must travel across the world busting them. The game has 50 stages divided into 17 locations: Mt. Fuji, Mt. Keirin, Emerald Temple, Australia, Taj Mahal, Leningrad, Paris, London, Barcelona, Athens, Egypt, Kenya, New York, Maya, Antartica and Easter Island. It offers the option to start from Leningrad and thus skip 18 levels. However, p4wn3r ignored this and went through all the levels to show the entire game.

This is 34 seconds faster than the previous version due to better boss fights, some new strategies and more optimization.

This run makes clever use of the switch mechanics. Switch can't be used immediately after defeating an enemy, so other actions are performed while the enemy falls off the screen. Attacking from the ladder is slightly faster, the author uses this and other similar tricks to help save time.

In this run, Touch-me utilizes a glitch to warp across the map, cutting down the completion time by a lot compared to the warpless run. He also improves the previous glitched run by 51:22.56 minutes thanks to a big new warp glitch that allows him to reach the top of the Tower of Gemma early.

This run by Atomnium forgoes warps so as to show off more of the game. It also improves upon the previous run by 13.46 seconds thanks to improved manipulation and strategies.

In this run, knbnitkr abuses several glitches (including one which can only be performed on the initial Japanese release) to beat the game far quicker than intended. For more information, see the author's comments.

The gameplay is much more interesting though. The author fully utilizes the ability to switch between the two characters on the fly. Weapons are fired very precisely, and some interesting glitching is used to skip parts of the first two levels.

This run is an improvement of 2:17.88 minutes over the previous movie. The improvement comes from more optimization, different routes, and better lag management.

Mugg, the author, uses Yanchamaru-san's spinning sword liberally in the run, often killing enemies in one hit.

This run uses the 'Extra Game' password (up+select+A at title screen), which makes the enemies and bosses much more aggressive and damaging than usual.

This is a 34 second improvement over the previous movie by JXQ.

This movie skips most of the normal pinball aspects of the game and goes right to the bosses. Clever luck manipulation is used to position them perfectly for optimal damage from Kirby.

In Kung-Fu Master, the player displays frightening reflexes that would be enough to obliterate any opponent.

In this run, the author, mugg, improves his previous run by changing the goal to getting the best in-game time, ignoring lag caused by enemy drops, among other things, in order to make for a more entertaining run. In addition, he changed the ROM used to the Japanese version, sacrificing some elements in order to make the fastest possible run. Please see the author's notes for more details.

This TAS makes it look like a walk in the park, albeit, a very large park.

The Game Boy series is a little different from the NES series in that there are only four Robot Masters to fight at the start. Those four are borrowed from the NES game of the same number, while four more Robot Masters from the next NES game guard Dr. Wily’s fortress. Game Boy Wily also likes to have a backup fortress in space after his first one is beaten. Another recurring concept in the Game Boy games is a ninth robot boss unique to the game who gives you a new weapon that is usually the only weapon effective against the final boss.

This run doesn't really perform any mind boggling glitches like some other Mega Man runs on this site, but it still has the same classic action, and pulls off some very unlikely maneuvers that are enjoyable to watch.

This is an 8 second improvement over the author's previous movie.

For those of you who enjoy listening to the music, the background music in this one is quite good, and the sound quality is much better than previous Mega Man games for the system.

This run was done on the Japanese version, Rockman World 3 (ロックマンワールド３).

That being said, Metroid II doesn't keep track of the collected items' percentage. Moreover, the game has two excessive Energy tanks and an additional copy of each beam. It's been agreed that the author should take all the E-tanks, and at least one copy of each beam. However, due to the apparent linearity of this game, collecting so many additional items doesn't make the movie dramatically slower.

This movie is nearly 6 minutes faster than Alter's previous movie due to better precision, faster Metroid fights, and missile planning.

This Contra game combines elements from the original Contra and Super C while adding some elements into one action packed game. Watch our hero cruise through 5 levels of steadily increasing difficulty yet still crushing those aliens in record time.

This movie is a 12 second improvement over the previous movie. Improvements come from use of the homing gun and from a bug that allows horizontal screen wrapping.

Some delicate control is required to move through the levels without losing speed; in particular, watch for the precise manipulation in the underwater levels.

Eat spinach with every meal!

This is 0.25 seconds faster than the previous movie, arising from a substantial amount of testing and optimisation.

JXQ proves he's both bad and rad as he rolls straight through the obstacles, precisely avoiding damage and making the game look easy.

This publication improves on the previous one by 4.33 seconds from a new trick that allows Mario to warp around the screen on auto-scrolling levels as well as a new strategy used to end the mandatory bonus game after each world quicker.

Mario must travel through the four Kingdoms of Birabuto, Muda, Easton, and Chai once again to rescue Daisy. Although this time around, they're packed with much more enemies than before.

This run has much more action than the regular mode of Super Mario Land, due to the increased amount of enemies, yet it is only slightly slower. If you liked TASs of Super Mario Land before now, wait until you see this.

This is an improvement of 8.66 seconds over the previous movie. Much of the improvement comes from Gomez using a new route that involves walking on the ceiling.

However, rather than deciding to engage on a long quest of epic proportions, the author decides to just kick in the Japanese edition of the game and breeze through it in under two minutes.

The Smurfs was a once popular comic book and TV series that spread across the world in many languages.

This is an improvement of 24.09 seconds over the previous movie, mostly thanks to a warp glitch which ends Act 1 a lot quicker, but also thanks to better strategy.

In this game, the player takes control of the main Tiny Toons as they attempt to stop Montana Max from breaking Babs Bunny's dreams of becoming a big star.

This is a 30.28 second improvement over the previous run.

It follows a rabbit-like creature called Yacopu on his quest to retrieve a flower and his kidnapped girlfriend so that peace will return to his world. Along the way he gains abilities including turning into a ball and a big, scary godzilla-like rabbit. This is an improvement of 31 seconds to the previous movie, mostly thanks to a pause trick which helps keeping his flying speed and better luck manipulation.

Wario, having been kicked out of Mario's castle in his first appearance, decides, in his eternal greed, to search for a statue stolen by the nefarious Captain Syrup and the Black Sugar Gang. Along the way this would normally involve the occasional side quest for hidden treasures and collecting as many coins as he can possibly amass.

Here, however, Wario decides this isn't worth his time and proceeds as quickly as possible towards the final confrontation - going so far as to skip entire levels and otherwise make a mockery of the game engine.

This movie is a 7:35.61 improvement over the previous movie, thanks to even more level skipping and further optimized levels.

jlun2, with some tricks explained in his submission text, beats the game in less than 17 minutes.

The author whips through the game, especially the bosses, taking advantage of an outrageous glitch that entirely skips the end of a level, plus the special "burning mode" (ok... blinking mode) that allows for faster movement and harder whip action.

For TASing, the most powerful transformation is the flying squirrel, which can skip some areas with tool assisted precision.

This movie achieves 102% completion, which is the maximum allowable by the game.

Along the way, Soulrivers collects a Rainbow Drop in each stage in order to fight the true final boss. In addition, he plays bonus games in the rooms of defeated bosses to obtain 100% completion.

In this game, the world is threatened by the forces of evil, which are attacking on multiple fronts, and lead by Ivan Ooze. Each of the Rangers have decided to split up and tackle each of the main bad guys, fighting their way through the enemy hordes and finally returning Ooze to the sludge he belongs in.

This run aims to beat all levels as fast as possible without using surrender. To accomplish this, the author, Ryuto, uses a warp glitch to skip many rooms. As always, please see the author's notes for more details.

There is also a run by the same author that skips several levels.

The player skips 6 levels out of 8 using a glitch, causing the time records to be nullified from the second stage to the seventh stage. The previous run used a reset glitch to perform this skip. This time, a different warp glitch was used, which is where most of the 2:45.93 improvement comes from.

This run, a ten frame improvement over the previous version, abuses a glitch that was fixed in later releases of Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) that allows a player to warp freely through the world. Victory is achieved in a matter of minutes with this route. Normally, the game takes well over an hour at the fastest to finish.

And now, for something completely different. In this run, the authors, p4wn3r and Mukki, catch all 151 Pokémon and complete the game while only using what they call "light glitches", showing off much more of the game than in the other runs while still using many glitches to complete this goal much faster than the programmers could have imagined. This is an improvement of 37:56.40 over the previous run of Blue in this category. The previous run used entirely different glitches and is worth checking out as well.

Tetris Blast is a spin on the classic Tetris formula. The new type of blocks, bomb blocks, detonate when they are part of a line that gets completed and destroy the blocks around them. A chain reaction of bomb block explosions or a carefully positioned square of four bomb blocks can take out the entire screen.

The author, Ryuto, manipulates luck and forms bomb block squares and explosion chain reactions to finish this game in just under 4 minutes.

This Wario game is a fairly unique platformer, where you not only play as "the bad guy" but normal damage is replaced with various status effects like catching on fire. In addition, the use of these effects is needed to complete the game.
