Knuckles' Chaotix is one of the few Sonic games that doesn't feature Sonic himself. The story differs between the English and Japanese versions of the instruction manual that came with the game, but they both involve Dr. Robotnik trapping Knuckles' friends on a special island. Knuckles must now save his friends and discover the mystery behind the island. The gameplay is similar to that of earlier Sonic games, with the added gimmick of being bound to a partner with an elastic tether, giving the game its reputation for wonky rubber band physics. After each stage, the next level and your next partner are selected via roulette.
Tuffcracker completes the game while going for all 6 Chaos Rings to achieve the best ending in this game.

VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK!
NOW IS TIME TO THE 68000 HEART ON FIRE!
Alien Soldier, released in 1995, is a spiritual successor to Gunstar Heroes (you can tell by the cameo appearances of certain bosses), and a real treat in terms of production values as described in the tagline quoted above. The game's rather nonsensical plot boils down to the protagonist, Epsilon-Eagle, having to fight his former terrorist comrades (as well as everything on his path). Thankfully, speedrunners don't care about plots either way.
What is more important is that Alien Soldier epitomizes Treasure's concept of an action game: a fast-paced, flashy, relentless boss rush. As such, it has 33 grotesque bosses, each of them promising a guaranteed game over for inexperienced players. However, using Epsilon-Eagle's vast arsenal of weapons and dodging abilities, the authors plow through the game's "SUPERHARD" difficulty without any regard to its name in this long-awaited movie, achieving a total in-game time of 8 minutes 13 seconds.

This run plays through the "Baby Moses" mode, of how his mother "got a papyrus basket for him ... and placed the child in it and put it ... along the bank of the Nile". This apparently entails avoiding a horde of enemies in the process.
Thus, before Moses can let his people go, Aglar goes as fast as possible by taking a page from the wrong Bible book and walking on water (wouldn't that have made crossing the Red Sea just a little bit easier?) as well as directly through many of the enemies and obstacles preventing one from reaching the right edge of the level.

An unusual feature of the game is that it is set within the panels of a comic book with dialogue rendered within talk bubbles and sprites and backgrounds possessing the bright colours and dynamic drawing style favoured by superhero comics.
Sketch Turner, a "starving artist" and freelance rock musician living in New York City, is working on his newest comic book, named the "Comix Zone". One night, while Sketch is working on Comix Zone during a thunderstorm, a lightning bolt strikes a panel of his comic. In this instant, the main villain of Comix Zone - a powerful mutant named Mortus - manages to escape the comic book's pages, desiring to kill Sketch so he can become flesh and blood and take over the real world. Because he does not possess any power in reality, Mortus sends Sketch into the world of his own comic, freely drawing in enemies attempting to kill him.
Comix Zone is an action platformer in which players control Sketch as he progresses through panels of his comic book, hoping to reach the end and escape before his own creations finish him off. Each level consists of two pages and secrets are discovered by shredding the paper and revealing items. Along with standard attacks such as punching, kicking and jump attacks, Sketch can store up to three items in his inventory to help him overcome obstacles.

Contra: Hard Corps (1994) was the first game in the series to be exclusively released on a non-Nintendo console. The game took a lot of elements from previous installments and spiced them up with even more dynamic combat, different playable characters, nonlinear plot and about twice the amount of boss fights.
In this movie the author takes the secret "fifth ending", thereby skipping most of the game. If you want to see runs which play more of the game, then you should see this run (with the quickest "normal" ending) or this run (with the "best" ending).
The Japanese version was chosen because, for some reason, it gives the players a health bar, allowing them to take some damage without dying.

While the time may look longer, it is a 00:00.25 second improvement over the previous movie. The previous movie used an inaccurate FPS (60) instead of the standard Genesis framerate (59.923).
